To hack or steal classified information is a crime in just about every country in the world, even the recent newspaper phone hackers received severe penalties. The information that was stolen by Assange also put lives at risk at the time. I do feel sorry for him in a way but he chose to hide away in the Ecuadorean embassy, and presumably Belmarsh prison, to avoid facing charges.

I met a family from El Salvador, in 1985, which consisted of parents and 2 daughters. Wonderful, wonderful people!!! They came to the USA with nothing, escaped in the middle of the night. The father was targeted because he was a professor at a university. Their son volunteered to be bait so the other family members could leave without notice. The son was captured and killed.

This isnt the voice of a brutal dictator or someone with only selfinterest. This man cares deeply for his people and his country. They took people’s homes, they killed kids walking to school because they had to pass through a different neighborhood, they killed kids who didn’t want to join, they extorted small businesses of poor people. Accusations are easy to do, proving those accusations are difficult. Besides, this has happened several times in our history. The brutality and impunity that the gangs had in our country was beyond anyone outside to really grasp even If you define as a leftist who claimed that they were just victims of their own society and not really bad persons (even though they rape, murdered and torture ) you knew some radical approach would be needed to get rid of them, but the only two political parties were more interested in fighting between them than in solving that problem, only time will tell where do we go from here, but right now we are enjoying some kind of peace, people are opening new business investing in our own country and that is because you feel safe again.

I'm a 71 year old woman and I remember the horror that was El Salvador. Nobody was safe, the nightmares families had to endure was unbearable. Thank God for this man, he freed his people his country from the hell they were living in. Bravo~

Personally, I am against that policy. There are "minors" who consciously do crime because they know they are protected by this rule. To me, it's more like, Yes, don't arrest them for probably up to 2nd time, but if they get arrested for the 3rd time (as said on their record) then it's okay. That's habit at that point.

That line from ur prez that their country was pulled in between the conflict with the Soviet union reminded me of our (India's) case with WW2 , we had nothing to do with the war , it wasn't even our conflict nor we were interested in it. But still we were dragged to fight for uk , okay for a sec one might consider India was under uk colonisation at that time (but still not 100%,there were 500+princely states) and many lost life due to war but nobody later recognised the martrys only I remember Israel remembers those Indian soldiers who liberated Haifa , this was justdirect loss of life but now the most grim, indirect impact was when there was sortage of food ships from aus were sent to uk and because of which tens of millions of people died due to the artificial famine

We much implement the techniques of El Salvador to be harsh on crime. Our cities catch and release are waste of tax dollars and put police in high risk situations for no reason. Watch any Police Cam youtube videos where the guys resist. All of them know they have multiple warrants and are scared to finally have to do some time. That is exactly when the stakes are raised.

Look at Ukraine for example, they were so thoroughly manipulated after the western funded coup in 2014 that they instigated provoking Russia. Now probably millions of them are dead while a high ranking officials in the US say that its the best situation because they’re killing Russians without having to deploy Americans.
