About the concert
For several years now, Gustavo Dudamel and the young musicians from the Venezuelan youth
orchestra "Simón Bolívar" have been causing a furor on the international music scene. More than
anything else, it is they who have earned the Venezuelan orchestra system respect around the
world: 30 years ago, the conductor, composer and economist José Antonio Abreu had the vision
of combining social work and classical music. Abreu's goal was to tear down elitist structures in
music education and make music a fundamental right of all the country's children.

@@aidanli4254This is a recording at the Lucerne festival, the one on Dudamel's channel is at the BBC Proms and you may also see different people because it was another tour, it's not that strange
Viva Venezuela!!! Best conductor and incredibly talented orchestra.. I’d give anything to have been there to see them perform in person 💗

I can’t get enough of this performance! I dance around my house to the rhythm in my head. Dudamel infuses the music with such great energy. And he nurtures and develops the wonderful talent in these young people

it’s crazy how talented this group is, what makes them so great is the fact that not only are they talented but nobody else in the world has the pride like venezuelans do no matter what they believe in they come together to create special moments through music, is something you cannot teach people it has to come from the person themselves playing for passion and love it’s hard to find in people nowadays, i want to start an orchestra like this but i need to find the right people who believe

Gustavo Dudamel is one of the greatest director actively working for Venezuela symphony even though the economy in his country has difficult phases, he enhances music education, and still works in Disney Hall for Los Angeles symphony.. It's a shame America don't appreciate this music culture as compared to Europe., however the talent of this students and musicians is world class., hopefully the data is still acure now. The best version of Danzón No. 2 is that of the Galician Symphony Orchestra: both in timing and in the development of the melody. Dudamel does it more like a mambo, and no, it's danzón, DANZÓN! Look for it so you can see it with your own eyes. La mejor versión del Danzón No. 2 es la de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia: tanto en tiempos como en el desarrollo de la melodía. Dudamel lo hace más como tipo mambo, y no, es danzón, ¡DANZÓN! Búsquenla para que lo vean con sus propios ojos.

Dudamel en su dirección transmite fuerza y delicadeza al mismo tiempo. La orquesta muy sobresaliente. Sin embargo creo que la direccion de Alondra de la Parra en este danzón No. 2 de la autoria del mexicano Arturo Márquez con la Orquesta de Paris es mas bella aún.

You definitely have to be latin american to play this properly.
Have you seen/watched Alondra de la Parra? Now she has that innate attachment to Mexican music and her performance in my opinion far exceeds others, including Dudamels.

No. It's not mexican music although composer is mexican. Danzon No. 2 is influenced by cuban music (danzón), in other words, caribbean music. Dudamel is venezuelan and Venezuela is a caribbean country.
