@@itsamadmadworld4728 It was like 30 yrs ago back in '87 so I don't remember a lot of it. I know I got Axl, Slash, Nikki, & Tommy's autographs. Still got them. Tommy signed a dollar bill for me. I worked for the promoter for the show, that's how I got the back stage pass. Amazing show.

All these bands looked up to Hanoi rocks and Motley Crue. Gnr had a huge label pushing them and also the band had talent. The rest is history

@flash 22 GNR was heavily influenced by Hanoi. Axl and Izzy have both dressed like Andy McCoy. Slash got the top hat idea from Razzle.

Both Mötley and Hanoi released(im almost sure, didnt check) their first albums -81 so they were the trailblazers to the 80s.

Holy cow, GnR played an acoustic set at CBGB? I went there once before they closed down in the mid 2000s and it is pretty tiny, would have been amazing to see that. But yeah, GnR with Motley Crue would have been the ultimate hard rock fan's dream in the 80s.

I saw GnR open for Aerosmith a long long time ago.

The European tour with GNR was cancelled mainly due to Nikki, as he had just had his overdose in late December 1987(which was portrayed in the dirt) to which Slash and Steven were actually there too

The most Izzy has ever spoken

During that era, everyband that opened up for Motley blew up. The only band that blew Motley away night after night was LOUDNESS. Maybe that's why Motley kicked them off the tour early.

Whitesnake was then and is now a better band. None of those drug addled idiots are fit to carry David Coverdale's luggage. He was a rock star long before any of them were, and stayed a rock star with solid vocal talent long after them.

I agree completely dude. It is a darn tragedy that the PC police finally got him to crack under pressure. He had every right to make a song like One in a Million. People refused to see it in its proper context. Shame he would never sing that song nowadays.

I saw this show in Jacksonville, FL. I pegged GnR as another Sunset Strip band, but when I saw them, I knew they would be different.

Saw them with Motley crue Charlotte N.C. old coliseum. Kick Ass Concert🎸 🎶🎼 what I can remember. lol

My dad said he saw the roses at an arcade in Rochester when they weren't famous apparently he met axl

Axel is right and wrong. GNR & Motley Crue tour is Rock'n'Roll, but it was GNR mania for 4 years. They were getting played 48 times a day on the radio and MTV for 4 years. They clearly had some songs that made the top 40. It was not like who is GNR are they the band that radio and MTV dare not play?

That wasn't a bad show. I saw warrant, Trixster and Firehouse and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I would have gone to see the Whites play back then

i have seen both Bands Live. i saw GNR Appetite Show in Sydney Australia and The Illusions tour.. Massive Band with Massive Songs. Motley? Vince Sucks Live i guess and they are different kinda Bands.

WRONG. Motley are the deepest of the 1980s Hard Rock bands (after GnR). If you don't know that the songs on Too Fast for Love, Shout at the Devil and moments on Girls x3 that are autobiographical and real then you should check it out. No Motley Crue = No Gn R. Motley were authentic and truly dangerous and rock N roll, no pretending.

Yeah you must not know much about Motley Crue. They’ve always had a raw edge even in their “glam” days. Guns n Roses couldn’t top them in their prime either. They were hazed this whole tour and put in their place when slash said he could “out drink” them.

Have you uploaded a vid about how much the bands that toured with GnR despised Axl Rose ? How much of a asshole/prick he was to the members ,& especially the roadies , or how fans who paid thier hard earned cash to see them ," like me ", got to witness a megalomaniac storm off the stage , for the least little thing .
