What pisses me off is the band had total disregard for the fans needing to get home using public transport , tubes , trains , people who have travelled a long way and paid for the ticket from their hard earned cash , only to make a decision to not get home that night or see the rest of the concert

I think there was more to why he was late cause Axl certainly was the head of the band and wouldn't want to hurt people or ruin his band's image. I think it had more to do with his mental issues. But now he is on medication and is much happier.

I thought the same thing. I often wonder though, how much of Axl's frustrating behavior was due to Slash's habits. I love Slash, huge influence on my guitar playing and seems like a really cool guy. Man, some of the shows I've seen (not personally but on KZread), Slash seems barely able to keep it together. It must have been hard for Axl to see the potential of the band but to be let down by bad habits. Axl on the most part, aside from some tantrums wether they be justified or not, seemed to give it 100% all the time. Anyways, they all seemed to come away better people from the experience.

@@dogsy5150 I'm sure Slash and Duff were to fucked up didn't help the situation. It must have annoyed Axl, and there is no way Slash and Duff would have accepted Axl behavior if they were sober. Izzy couldn't handle it when he was sober and left. I think Axl knew he wouldn't be able to count of Slash and Duff much longer because of Mr Brownstone. It caused Axl to become a dictator.

GnR gave us one great album and 6 years of great concerts, both better than anything that came befor or after. The price was 5 morons with a will for self destruction, hurt and an end that came way too soon. If they had been better behaved & nicer people with a schedule and a plan, they would have given us decades and 10 albums of nice music, good stuff but nothing special. Instead we got only a few moments of PURE GREATNESS that will be remembered forever. Without their real appetite for destruction we wouldn't have gotten these Moments of GOLD.

Dont cry was the first song they ever wrote and one of the favs that their early followers loved when they starting to pick up steam on the local LA music scene. The only reason it came out later was because the band wanted to save it in case AFD bombed. Maybe.. although if he really didn't care about the fans and giving the best show, he could have showed up on time and saved the band, and more importantly himself a ton of money. The late fees, oayi g the city to keep trains open, etc would have drained all their profits, and Axl said he did it cause he wanted to have the best show possible.

@Lang Hansen Going onstage on time is not a feat. Not upholding your end of a deal is just unacceptable. Also worth taking into consideration, that is, if you possess some empathy in your soul, is that the people going to the shows lead regular lives. It´s not fucking fun having to get home at 3 in the morning, when there´s no trains/buses around just because the band couldn´t go on on time. Fans travel for long distances to go see their favorite artists, it´s not as if everyone attending a gig reside in the same city that the gig´s at, right? Last time I went to a gig, I saw Iron Maiden, they went on at 9pm and rocked it for 2hrs, you´ve got to be a complete juvenile idiot if you think that going on past midnight magically enhances a concertgoing experience. Come on man.

He didn't have to. Axl is a lot different cat these days, and he was totally humbled and honored to sing for AC/DC. I saw Guns 3 times on Not In This Lifetime Tour. Never once late, no rants or walk offs. I wish he would have found this level of focus and professionalism 30 years ago, Guns would have probably never parted ways.

Guns N' Roses was a great band but some of the members had a huge attitude problem. Those divas never figured how lucky they were for reaching the top and suffered a lack of respect for their fans... Their awful attitude made the band lose a sh**load of fans. I never saw them and never will because I would be totally pissed off waiting 2 or 3 hours only to get a shortened and sh*tty performance
