Contrary to what many others say the facts is Michael WAS NEVER kicked out of VH . Anthony decided to leave VH on his own , he was given a choice by both Edward and Alex who said either you stay with us or you go with Sammy and Mike chose Sammy . This notion that Eddie and Alex just got rid of him because Eddie wanted to perform with Wolfgang is the biggest crock ever. Mike told Eddie and Alex to F off . Only long after Mike left did Edward teach Wolf to play bass to get good enough to perform.

@2216sammy Yes, he was kind to people who didn't know him. To the people closest to him, he treated them like crap. Look at all the things that he did to Mike. Are they untrue? Making him sign away his rights to the band? How about signing away his future earnings to the band? Also, did you ever hear Michael saying anything bad about Eddie? Come on! Not every journalist had to be lying? I don't get involved in things like this on KZread. However, Michael is one person that I will defend simply because he is loyal to a fault.

Those play a part in a lot of cases....but sometimes, people just can't get along. Having been in my share of bands...good and bad....I can agree with the comment once made around me that "bands are like marriage without the sex" and there's a lot to that. You have to put up with each other's quirks....a lot. You have to depend on each other...a lot. You also have different visions of what you are, what you want, and what you intend the band to be. Mix all those things with all the things you mentioned with pressure and that, I'd say is the root of all bandmate issues.

From personal experience, you're so correct. Especially when you get into heavy hobbies like cocaine and opiates. Even if you're relatively disciplined enough to make your gigs on time, if you don't have drugs, you're not playing well, if you have drugs, you usually take too much and you're not playing well. And then stick 4 or 5 guys in a van together, with broken air conditioning in Florida in August. Or people are on different drugs/alcohol and criticizing the guys on the conflicting drugs. The irony is, the more successful you get, the more damage you do to yourself and each other. I was afraid I couldn't play if I cleaned up, and just the opposite happened. My musicianship was better than ever. It's unfortunate but it's not a new problem. First off, when and where you are going to work, everyone else is off work and heading there to party. And, especially in the lower rungs of the entertainment industry, playing on stage is the high point of your day, the rest of your day/evening can be boring, lonely, and depressing (especially if you're trying to keep a relationship together and don't want to 'socialize' with the wonderfully charming women you often meet. And ironically, the most destructive vice I experienced dealing with in a band was alcohol. But regardless of the poison, musicians have been familiar the struggles of addiction way back when the term "rockin' and rollin' meant something much different than it came to mean. There's really nothing new under the sun. Except the Internet...

Don't blame a riff between Axl and Slash for the problems with G&R. I drove my wife two hours to Toronto to see them at Exhibition Stadium in 1990. Axl was 2-1/2 hours late then he was terrible. The sound guy turned up Slash and turned down Axl so his roasted and hungover sound didn't hurt the sound too much but there was only so much they could do. Because of Axl it was the worst concert I ever saw by an A-list band. I paid $120 for 2 tickets and that was a lot of money back then. We were furious. We drove 4 hours round trip for this? I still want my money back!

He should have collaborated with Dave Mewstain and Duff McCoggin.

Umm, as a memorial service for the Paul brothers, Pantera did reform and is back on tour - with Rex on bass, Phil singing, Zakk wylde on guitar and I don’t know who exactly on drums. I do know that the entire tour sold out in mere minutes after announcing it, something that not many bands can still accomplish even to this day. We Texans may be angry with each other, but in the end all we want to do is chill out with each other’s company and have some fun together while we can. It sucks that Phil wasn’t able to.

I can't imagine how the rest of GNR gave up the name so easily. Yes, it had Rose in the name, but they had a case.

It probably didn't happen like that. It would have been legally invalid because supposedly as the popular version goes, Rose is said to have threatened to not complete a tour in 92 unless they signed the rights to the name over to him. This would constitute duress or blackmail thus rendering it illegitimate and easily challenged legally. But it never was, so that has to tell you it didn't happen like that.

The most famous split up wasn't mentioned. The Beatles. John broke up the band at the persistence and insistence of Yoko Ono. The last video of them together on George Harrisons "Something" was called spliced. All of them in the video but shot at each of their separate homes as they were not speaking during that time.

Not surprisingly, most of these feuds were provoked by narcissists: Roth, Mustaine, Rose, Tyler... Roger Waters and Liam Gallagher would also fit the bill perfectly.
