In the '70s down here in Georgia my stepdad swore up & down that he was the baddest mutha fukka on the block especially when he was drinking moonshine, him & my 2 uncles would drink Motley Crue under the table! They drank so much that my stepdad died at 47 in '87 & both my uncles at 52 in the early '90s 3 years apart

Some dude said Moltey Crue out partied GNR because of Moltey Crue´s use of drugs. but GNR were a bunch of junkies too, so that was a bad argument. Nikki and Tommy out partied GNR for whatever reason, but not because of the use of drugs, since both bands did drugs.

How all of these guys are still alive is amazing to me.

Note to self: Never let Tommy Lee tuck me in after a night of heavy drinking. Not trying to die puking. I love how he specified "on his back" like that was the responsible decision 😂

GNRs heroin addiction was far more advanced...atleast Slash, Izzy and Stevens was. Proof of this? Slash and Steven were there the night Nikki overdosed and they shot up likely the same amount of the same stuff without overdosing or even becoming a nodded out mess...the story goes that Slash ran in fear of cops or the press but Steven stayed like a man and revived Nikki. The ambulance/adrenaline to the heart story is BS, Steven beat Nikkis chest with his cast (had a broken arm) and put him in a cold shower/helped him walk around the room to get his blood flowing. The EMTs did show up and took him to the hospital but he was awake already but still nodding out when they took him. Steven told the story and others verified it...Nikki is one of my heroes but he far exaggerated his smack addiction. They don't treat overdoses with a needle to the heart, especially EMTs in an ambulance while its driving all bumpy...any heart injections are done by surgeons in a hospital setting only and they aren't for overdoses. He was more of an alcoholic Coke head who dabbled in heroin which is why he overdosed so much...he never did it consistently enough to get a tolerance.

Slash died once lol.. and got a pacemaker. Pretty advanced i would say. Duff drank until his pancreas bursted. Adler had a stroke.. The only one in GN'R that didn't abusing drugs anymore was Axl, believe it or not. He had mental illness though.. glad they're all alive today

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking. That's how Bon Scott died. Kinda crazy, I did the exact same thing when I was young. We drank an insane amount of vodka, and when I woke up the next day I had a halo of puke around me. It even managed to go up past the backboard of the bed (which was actually really high) and run down the wall behind it. God bless my aunt for cleaning that up and dealing with my bullshit, lol.

Guns N’ Roses still the best rock band to ever do it. The amount of Quality Iconic hit songs they put out in the time they was together in the 80s blows other bands away. Crue is number 2.

Nah, GN'R sucks shit compared to Motley Crue. Axl sings like a cat getting buttf*ked by a jackhammer! GN'R's output was low and not impressive. This is coming from a guy who doesn't really like LA glam bands. GN'R couldn't to touch Motley Crue or Ratt in song writing.

Of course you never know what stories are true or not, but apparently during the Dave-era, Van Halen was right at the top of the party food chain as well. I wish I could remember who it was, but I do recall reading an interview with a reputable behind the scenes guy, maybe a producer, who had worked with all the top bands at the time, and him saying that of all the bands he had been around, he had never seen anything like VH's partying level. He may have been referencing their sheer debauchery, rather than straight drinking ability, but still. Wild ass times in the 80's during the hair band era though, no doubt. 🤘

I was at the general admission Motley Crue concert November 13th 1987 in Savannah Georgia. The curtains opened on the opening act and here is some dude not 2' away from me in a top hat playing the opening rift to sweet child of mine. That's what I remember from that concert. GnR stole the show.

Nikki's pretty big, so is Tommy, but he's skinny as fuck. Drinking ability is not a skill, it all has to do with weight. I was a bad alcoholic for a while and I could put back a shit ton of beer and booze and I drank every day, was about 240 at my heaviest. I've gulped pints and half pints of vodka/rum in one go no bumping coke/speed/etc (have videos). Most of these bands with their half gallon/gallon a day..if you are on coke sure you can get by but no proof.

Guys I like Tommy but 2 gallons are 7.5lt of alcohol or 10 bottles of hard liquor you can't drink that. Maybe the biggest alcoholic ever did that for 1 day and it isn't Tommy for sure. Ozzy who outdrink most if not all rockstars said he drank at his peak 4 bottles of hard liquor. Tommy at his 50s couldn't be drinking 10 bottles

Man, Steve-O hanging out with Tommy Lee has got to be the challenge of his life for his sobriety! The dude was the biggest Crue fan his whole life, then to have the "special" access to be a "part" of his life would have to be tough! I mean who wouldn't want to party with their hero?? Though I'm sure he did party with him in the past, it'd still have to be tempting, and I'd say Tommy is still indulging these days.

The wildest is Keith Moon from the Who. They were all drinkers. It just depended on who was in rehab and who was up next for rehab. Living in Hollywood during that time it was nothing for bands to show up and do the Whisky. Girls, drugs and rock. I made it through the 80's without doing drug's. I drank a little but not much. I remember scoring back seat passes and I ran out of that place in horror. I was into music more than being some groupie and it changed my outlook on these bands but they lived it and some are still around to tell their story. I also remember the night we learned of the death of lead singer Hanoi Rocks. Tragic.

You get used to? I mean, I went from being a non drinker to a drinker in my first year of college, never vomit, never passed out and never had a hangover so I never knew my limit. Honestly I’m not proud of it, mostly because I was 18 at the time and I was drinking 3 six packs + A LOT of shots, I gain a lot of weight, went from XS to L. I’m 22 right now, so It’s not like I’m a lot older or mature, I don’t drink that much anymore at least not that often, still losing the weight, so I’m not really sure if I still have that endurance.

I like the story of when Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister was partying with them and would not shut up all night so Nikki slipped him some heroin to knock him out If I was Eddie I would have knocked Sixx lights out when I heard of that story , even if it was 20 years ago. That is such a shitty thing to do.
