Mick Mars is probably one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. No one will ever mention him in the same breath as Eric Clapton or Jimi Hendrix-yet the guy single-handedly defined guitar for an entire decade/generation. He’s an incredibly talented guy who provided this band’s signature sound.

I must be at least 10% of this video's views and everytime I rewatch it I am just as dazzled by Nikki's showmanship as I was the first time.

Tommy kept it goin the whole way through. What a legend

Mick Mars is actually probably the only reason Motley Crue went anywhere. A bit older, sure, more mature and kept them sort of on the straight and narrow but he brought musical maturity to the equation as well. I would say him and Vince Neil are probably the two biggest factors that helped them out at the beginning but Nikki Sixx's passion and determination didn't hurt and Tommy Lee is a monster on drums, we all know that.

They are all important. They tried without one of them. Band was good, but spirit wasn't the same. It's wasn't MC anymore. Edit : but oc, MM is defo a GIANT in the music world. An inspiration for generations. And as a human too. He never gave up fighting, and is not waiting for things to happen (even if waiting works for some ppl too, but that's even more out of topic, so I gonna go now ^^)

They should've called themselves something different, a different name for a different era, because honestly they sounded like a 90s band at that time. And I do love 90's rock I just cannot accept MC as being a part of that musical time period. To me they're 80's in the best way possible.

Although grown older (and slightly bigger), he still is a showman beyond compare... He rocked the crowd of the infield in the afternoon under bright sun at 35 ° C. Damn hot show, in both senses... 😜🤘

Maybe you have to be a drummer to realize this but it’s literally so easy to do what he was doing there while drinking something, it’s literally the kick drum and hi hat in a 4/4 time stamp over and over again, it’s really not that skillful. Don’t get me wrong, Tommy is a great drummer but people are giving him too much credit for being an alcoholic that knows how rudiments and time signatures work...

They sold because as I stated, in studio with the right engineering, they were good at what they did for the time. (hair metal) But to say any of them were guitar gods or the like is insanity. And I watched to further verify that truth is all. Don't hate them; just don't care for them

I don't like modern pop like Ariana Grande and Katy Perry and I don't go on videos and comment on them because I don't care about them/don't like them. Yet here you are commenting on a band that you think suck. Also who said anything about guitar gods he just made a comment about that the rythm section sounded good which it did. For example I don't like Zara Larsson's music in general but there is no denying that she has a good voice. Same thing here: you may not like Motley Crue's music and the sound in general but there is no denying that they are professionals who can write music the resonates with millions of people.

@@elvis5138 Like I said, I watched to verify my suspicions; that they still suck live. I grew up with them, & agreed that they were good at what they did. And as to resonating with the masses; sex, drugs, & rock & roll will always do that. Lowest common denominator. They were a good hair metal band with an ardent following. That's not saying much musically speaking, but monetarily, it's great. Don't like 'em, but can't deny their draw in the day.

How they are all alive today blows my mind

This tour was t first of sixx times I saw them, I was 20 yrs old but was always a crue fan since t start! I blame them for all t Fuckn abuse of “side affects” and t constant chasing/nailing ass! When I turned 17 ,I was backstage at the Whiskey in Hollywood and I told Nikki it was my Birthday and it was also his Dec.11 1981 ,also they were releasing the first pressing of too fast for love! So Nikki gets 2 double shots of Jack Daniels and gives me one ,I had never drank any more than a few beers, so with everyone watching we drink them and it thought I was gonna trow up in his face ,but I kept it down somehow ,and that was the beginning of a couple decades of alcoholism and playing music ,Nikki and especially Mick really helped me on getting a band going and what to do and not do! Great guys!
