The most relatable moment in this video is when Michael slams his headstock against his desk and brushes it off as if nothing happened.

But when he plays wrong and keeps playing it over to get it more better? There is no one else who does this, it is as entertaining as someone who has mastered his piece before the performance.

Mind blowing? Guitarrists in the early days of electric guitars used 18 gauge strings...In standard tuning. Guitars are designed to take way heavier gauges than what most people use. 17 gauge in B-standard will feel around the same as 11-12 in standard tuning.

Man I love Ariel! Little info about this, he’s in baritone tuning (B standard), and he’s playing 17-64 strings. I highly, highly recommend you check out the full version of the song, it’s such an incredible take on it. The familiar ground version is incredible. Much love Michael!

This guy Ariel Posen has an innate understanding of a buildup of great sounds hinting and teasing then climaxing. It's such a luxuriant treat for my ears and brain. The grungy guitar sound is reminiscent of one of the tracks in The Wall (PF 1979) Great analysis Mr guitar teacher

After I read your comment sir, I listened to this song again and thought to myself, wtf is this dude talking about? But since I am not one who is cut from common cloth, instead of making some ignorant misinformed comment to you I decided to listen to a couple of The Wall’s more hard hitting tracks, and well... If you were any more right about this, you’d be going left. I have it on factual files, it had been a few years since I listened to The Wall so I couldn’t catch the familiar vibes that Ariel is emanating! Hell yeah! Also, I agree. I’m so glad that YT recommended me Ariel, I do love me a scary talented six string picker. Or in this case, slider. First time hearing Angeline I was taken on a journey of harmonics. Dude is a legit maniac.

Ariel came on social media with a post explaining how he constructed this solo. The waypoint cues they've worked out over the course of the tour and how he approached the chord tones. The other benchmark I have for an insane build over a 2 chord vamp is this Matt Schofield live version of Where Do I Have To Stand. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hoqdm9qrfte7ops.html I'm exhausted by the end every time I watch it. I've talked to Matt about this and he said that although he doesn't watch videos of himself, quite a few people have mentioned this particular recording to him as their favorites.

Ariel is a phenomenal player, him and Derek Trucks are the reason I picked up a slide. I'm not usually one to request, but have a look at I'm So Afraid by Fleetwood Mac (the performance from The Dance). Perhaps not the most technical solo you'll ever hear, but probably one of the best from what I'd consider to be a criminally underrated guitarist!
