Hey Michael...this is the primary reason that channels like yours, should never have videos taken down by record labels and other artists. I may have never, ever found this group on my own and the are awesome. I just don't understand how a record company not see the value in what people like you, Rick Beato and other reactors/teachers do. Thank you!

I agree there is so much out there that we'd never get to hear otherwise. Michael was so excited, it's contagious . . . I love seeing how people react over good music. It is even better when you get to play along with it. I agree but everyone needs to make a living. If I was trying to profit my channel I would have been shot-down long ago. I'm just a hobbyist at heart for playing guitar. Starting to learn to play at the age of 40 was a huge thing for me. They do understand, but not if your profiting from them directly. If you love something, you will do it for free. I have more songs than subs - but really it doesn't bother me. I'd like more, but it's not the reason why I do it.

To almost quote other replies here, the next best thing to great music is to watch and realise just how other people react to music. So reaffirming. People can be so, so real. Soak it up, and live off it. Jump up and down. Wander about the room not realising just what the heck is going on....ahhh. love it!!

Yes! This is such an aching, yet beautiful and perhaps hopeful song that centres around a young boy dying. I believe it was Gord Downie's nephew. The open E tuning allows it to ring out and sustain, just like his thoughts over the ocean and into Fiddler's Green.

"Not really" as a retort is up there with "because" as an explanation. My 13 year-old kids know the only value it has is describing more about the person uttering such a meaningless response than anyone else in the conversation. Then again, it may be you're 5 years old and just haven't yet figured it out. Consider it a project you can work on as you head toward double-digits.

This, to me, is orchestration of both tone and silence. A significant part of true artisanship imo is taking away all that doesn't "belong" and only adding what does. The musicianship of this reminds me of the beauty in Steely Dan--which I've loved for many decades. Thank you for sharing this with us. You've made my day, after yet another memorial service, much better.

Great video! I'm so happy you discovered Bahamas! Fun fact. He (Afie - lead singer and songwriter for the band) worked with the D'Angelo Black Messiah band (James Gadson and Pino Palladino) for the Earthtones album! A bunch of the songs on Earthtones were written with Pino & Gadson then brought back to Canada to record. It's one of my top favorite albums. Timeless. Another great band from Toronto is ZEUS. They used to be his backing back in his early days when they toured together. You can hear a tinge of their sound on some early Bahamas albums. Check them out! They're incredible live. They interchange instruments and vocals. Phenomenal talent.

I totally dig all the many musical elements in this tune. Quite unique and enjoyable. This felt like a tabletop jam at a bar with musicians that have met weekly for 10 years and know each other so well, but it was so homey. Another couple Canadian bands you should check out (They're straight up rock) The Glorious Sons from Brampton, Ontario who have some great undertones in their music. The Dudes from Banff, Alberta, which unfortunately haven't released anything for a bit if you're looking for new stuff. Or Colter Wall from Saskatchewan who has a very unique roots, Canadiana, country sound to him. Super interesting. There's also The Beaches from Manitoba with an all-girls rock/punk rock indie type of sound. All super good artists. Also, the really thin clouds are cirrus clouds. Stratus are generally lower, flat and typically fill the sky.

Bahamas recorded a number of his tracks for the album “Earthtones” with Pino Palladino on bass and James Gadson on drums… what a band. His regular bass player (Darcy) and drummer (Jason) are also incredible players. “Earthtones” is as close to a perfect album as I’ve heard. Pump it on amazing speakers. Cheers from Collingwood, Ontario!

Jeez, I discovered Bahamas on Mahogany Sessions 9 years ago… Lost In The Light absolutely rocked my world. But it’s one of those groups that I sadly forgot about when I switched streaming apps and no longer had in my list. Great to see they’re still turning out some groovy stuff. Know what I’ll be listening to for the next little while.

Hi Michael! I love your channel! Especially 11/21 show - Bahamas. I binge-watched everything Bahamas for the rest of the night and morning. Every style he touches he transforms. Simple, complex, perfect vibe from the musicians he surrounds himself with. Not just a vibe, more of a sameness. Just wow! 'nuf said.

If we're talking modern Canadian bands you should do a video of Half Moon Run. They're amazing and the way they craft songs are just just amazing. Full Circle, Call Me in the Afternoon, Favourite Boy are all great tracks I'd recommend but they have countless

Hi we've seen him 3 times and he even liked our part of Canada enough to live here through the pandemic. You should for laughs pull up him selling snow tires during pandemic with nobody to play for in months he had to beg the guy buying tires in a parking lot to listen to him play guitar and sing for practice and for fun. He's hilarious and so talented. Glad you've discovered him cheers from Halifax Nova Scotia

The woman who is singing with him is my BFF's daughter Felicity Williams!! They are a very innovative group and are currently out on tour. Needless to say, I have followed them from day one. Having a vested interest, I am rather biased, but glad you appreciated their creativity.!!

I love watching guitar videos with people that really know what they are talking about. I stumbled onto this video and, sorry, I don't know who you are but love Bahamas, and the title said "Canadian" so I had to watch. I had to stop your video and watch the Bahamas video, because I didn't know it existed. Anyway, love your enthusiasm and your deep understanding of the music. Now...... on to more Michael Palmisano videos, and of course more Bahamas.

I love watching your videos because while I’m not able to understand all of the theory I share that enthusiasm that pretty much only musicians can truly appreciate. My friends that don’t play don’t get it and make fun of me for digging some of the music I do. Someone that has an appreciation for just music itself can find something to appreciate in most all genres.

New to your channel, love your break downs and finding new music with you. I love how you get into the lyrics, details, and the stories of the songs. To me thats what its all about. I am a die hard "real" country fan. But one of my all time favorite songs is Arabella by Arctic Monkey's. The way he tells the story of how this girl makes him feel is wonderful.

During lockdown, Afie played with some different rhythm sections online series(Live To Tape), they're all awesome, different, more of a jam feel. The regular touring band are incredibly tight and definitely buy into Afie's love for less is more. I'm looking forward to seeing them again in a few weeks

I've been lucky enough to see this band live a few times now, and have tickets for them again in January. It was fun to watch another musician react to this music, you picked out loads of the tasty bits on the first pass through. You 100% correct about the discipline and the listening /responding that this ensemble is doing within the framework of the song. It's a killer live recording too. I hope you enjoy the rest of that CBC special, it's pretty deluxe.
