    I remember eating this. Guava is really used quite a bit in Puerto Rico and as a Puerto Rican I love this❤️❤️❤️

    Any Brazilian would love that dessert as it is a popular treat in some states. Jacques is the best. Ps: melted guava paste is also great on top of cheesecake. PS:

    Guava swirled cheesecake is my favorite, but you can just make a syrupy topping to spoon over slices of cheesecake instead if you're planning a cheesecake bar for a gathering. My next experiment will be some cream cheese thumbprint cookies with some guava paste.

    cheddar should be the appropriate cheese- grew up in St. Thomas, and learned about this snack from my Puerto Rican Math teacher!!! Epic

    We have excellent guavas in Pakistan but unfortunately other than fruit salad no local chefs have been creative enough to develop dessert recipes with it. This looks amazing.

    Beautiful and fast all the best dishes are. You know Jacques my friend when I started learning to cook one of the first cook books I bought was Jacque Pepin's Table in the 90 s i would watch you on TV it was a beautiful book with such great recipes and at first I though boy am I'm over my head but I kept trying and it payed off. I and am looking at it right now and boy what lovely dishes and beautifully illustrations, thank you.

    That my friend isn't guava paste! That is guava jell. Real guava paste is gritty, but the jell is smooth and lacks taste. I suggest you make your own. Back in the day it was easily found, but no more.

    I love the jell. I find it very flavorful...butmaybe I've never had the real stuff so I don't know any better.

    @@zhargidabeoulve I grew up on the real stuff. Imagine the guava flavor but more intense. In cooking, texture matters. So with the sweetness of the pastry/pound cake and maybe some powdered sugar coupled with that grainy guava it's delish.

    I just checked the Internet and he's using Iberia Guava PASTE not jell, "my friend". $13.44 for 14oz on Amazon.

    @@lionharehart It say that, but it's actually the jell. You cannot find the true guava paste in stores anymore. You will not find any with the actual guava grit.
