A thousand wells - Anna Landström
-----------------
Most common asked questions:
Does it really work?
- The results of this practice vary, as it focuses on de-puffing and draining fluid from your face to give a more sculpted appearance. Some individuals may experience more noticeable results if they naturally have puffiness due to water retention from various health reasons. However, it's important to note that this practice does not "move fat" or alter your bone structure. Besides the cosmetic benefits, there are also meditation and mindfulness advantages to doing this, leaving you feeling relaxed and grounded afterward. I always hope that viewers can appreciate this aspect as well.
Upwards motion or downwards motion on the neck?
- When performing lymphatic drainage, it's best to massage downwards. On the other hand, for anti-aging purposes, massaging upwards (working against gravity) is recommended. However, it's essential to remember that massages are versatile and not one-size-fits-all. These videos are designed to be easy for viewers to follow along, but you can always customise the massage to your preferences. Always listen to your body and pay attention to how it feels.
Do you have to use face oil?
- No, it's not necessary to use a face oil, but it's recommended to use at least a moisturiser or something that provides a slippery surface to work on. This helps prevent tugging and dragging on your skin during the massage.
What oil am I using?
- These are the oils I have used throughout my videos. For reference I have dry sensitive skin. Khiels Sativa Hemp Seed oil, The Ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil & Elf’s All the Feels Facial Oil.
Which Gua Sha tool is best? Jade or Rose quartz?
- In my personal opinion, it doesn't really matter which stone you use as long as it is smooth and free of scratches or bumps. Some people believe in crystal healing, and if you subscribe to that belief, then the choice of stones might matter more. However, if the purpose is solely for de-puffing the face, any smooth stone should be sufficient for the job.
What is better? Jade roller or Gua Sha stone?
- It depends on your preferences and needs. Jade rollers are great for rolling in skincare products, especially when used over a sheet mask. They can also be a better option if you have joint issues and find it challenging to use a Gua Sha stone. Personally, I enjoy Gua Sha more because it feels like a massage, and the wiggles at the end provide tension relief.
I initially began doing face Gua Sha for cosmetic purposes, aiming to achieve a more 'snatched' appearance. However, I soon realized that the meditation and mindfulness aspect of the practice was more beneficial to me. Moving forward, that's what I want to focus on. Thank you for following along with me.

I was so excited to see your new video I love the music and the background and you are just such an amazing teacher your inner radiance shines through istg. But the peaceful music and just everything in your videos, makes it so much easier to enter in a mindful state and I just LOVE ITTT. My head just gets to another place and I’ve even noticed I get inspired and creative more easily. It’s becoming mi favorite part of the day. Thank you ❤️ Also.. is lymphatic drainage better at morning or at night? And could I do gua sha for sculpting in the morning and lymphatic drainage at night? Or is it too much?

This comment made my day. This is always the goal with my video, provide a relaxing mindfulness moment for everyone as I feel the same way when I started doing Gua sha! ♥️ I personally think it's best to do it in the morning if our goal is to do a lymphatic drainage, and in the evening if your goal is to relax and unwind after a long day. But doing both is fine too of course.

Grazie!! I am wondering: is this the preffered tempo or are you slowing down a little for us to be able to follow better? Because i was doing my routine a lot faster but maybe i shouldnt ;-) Also im wondering whats your look on this: in another video i heard that for drainage it's best to go from down to up, and then again from up to down. Because as with a traffic jam you want to first have the fluits running/moving down, so the fluits from up can move freely down. I wonder what you think!

  • @TinaEngeo

    @TinaEngeo

    Жыл бұрын

Im slowing it down so it’s easier to follow. You can definitely put on your own music and go at your pace once you get the hang of it ☺️ Ive heard that going up is for anti aging purposes, and going down is more focused on the lymphatic drainage. I think it depends all on how you feel really. I enjoy going upwards while some feel congested going up, so get to know your body and do what feels best for you ♥️

hi Tina! thanks for the videos. its been a few days since i've purchased my first gua sha and been following along with your videos. my question to you is what is the difference between using gua sha on neck upwards vs downwards since you have both ways in different videos of yours? is going downward on neck bad and will make it sag? what is the purpose of up/downwards? which is the best way? thank you in advance!

  • @TinaEngeo

Upwards for a lift, and downwards for focused on drainage is what I have heard. I've seen gua sha experts do both so I think you should just do what feels best for you and listen to your body. Some feel congested going upwards, and come feel "droopy" going down. You can't win 😅

Hi, sorry you feel that way. This just depuff the area/face and make you overall appear more sculpted. Some are naturally more puffy with fluid do to water retention (various health reasons) so they see more results. But this does not ”move fat” or change any bone structure :) There are other meditative benefits of doing this as well where you feel relaxed & grounded afterwards and I I always hope that viewers enjoy that aspect at least :)

I don’t remember in this video but any face oil for your skintype, moisturizer or anything that provides a slippery surface for your massage should work fine :)
