    just bought this washer from Costco. did large load of clothes, and a queen cotton comforter and sheets/pillowcases. overall very pleased. NOTE: deep-fill option not selectable on NORMAL, must use a different cycle. not a big deal. I see now compared to my old kenmore that water to the top is not needed due to the wash basin being so large. its not as noisy as you hear in this video.

    This is one thing about the GE top loaders, at least the higher end ones. Their balance sensors are highly sensitive. This may be do to the higher spin speeds on these units. One possible remedy would be to pause the machine, balance the load manually, then select "drain/spin" and press "START". That may not always work, though. But it's always worth a try when you want to save water.

    This balance issue is caused by the appliance manufacturers removing the tub brake and going to this ridiculous free floating tub suspension!

  • @westcoastronnieOC714
    @westcoastronnieOC714 Жыл бұрын

    I've had this washer for about 4 to 5 years now and it's been a great washer but I've only had one issue. When the washer is turned off the cold water relay which lets water into the washing machine somehow did not close all the way and it would have a little drip every now and then inside the washing machine when the unit is turned off. I bought a new relay set up for the washing machine and when it got worse I was going to switch it out. But apparently over time it fixed itself and I've not had that issue for the last 2 years. But when I do I've got a backup one. Anybody who has a GE washer this is a common issue regardless of what the model number is. It's always good to buy a new Hot and Cold water inlet relay setup in case yours does the same. It's also good for your washing machine to run those cleaning crystals that you can buy at your local Walmart that's made for washing machines. I do that once a month along with a cup of OxiClean and give it a good sanitizing. If I don't do that I also run just hot water along with 30% vinegar I'll usually put about half a cup and that also works really well. It'll possibly break up any Gunk that may be underneath the tub depending how much you wash but it's a good thing to do every month if you're a heavy washer with a big family. The more you baby these appliances these days the longer they're going to last. You can get those tide cleaning crystals at any of your local Walmarts where the detergent section is.

    I just bought this washer and I don’t really care for it. I hate not being able to pick small medium or large loads I don’t like how it does it for me. I feel like sometimes it uses way to much water for the load I have in the washer. I guess I’ll find out when I get my water bill if it uses more water then it should. It’s a nice washer but overall I just don’t care for it. Hope to get a new one soon! Btw I love your videos ! Stay safe and blessed 😊

    Specs say this machine has 800 RPM maximum spin speed. Wonder how often it has to re-balance it self, hate often. So if it were to keep refilling how would you stop it?

  • @alchemy1
    @alchemy12 жыл бұрын

    I have this type. It stops when it is time to agitate. If you put it on drain and sping, it goes through it, no problem. The bearing is comporised I can tell by its sound. The agitator was wobbly and I didn't like it. So I wanted to remove it but had a hard time. I ended up cutting it because it did not cooporate by locking it through the hole and turning clockwise. I then unbolted the bottom skirt and check it. It fits more or less good enough on the transmission shaft. Bolted it back on and then I placed the cap that goes on the agitator and it fit perfect. I turned the machine on. This time the agitator kicked in for a good 10 minutes and then it quit. Would a bad bearing effect agitation much more than spin on these machines? The error code was pointing to mode shifter, although I doubted it. But I replaced it nonetheless.

    That balancing thing was interesting, I didn't see anything unbalanced about that spin. One thing to note, notice that noise it made at 55:05 right before it stopped spinning. I'm wondering if that is some kind of unbalance switch. Only reason I say that is because I had an issue with my GE 460 model. It made that noise once, then immediately stopped and started filling with water. I assumed it was trying to do an extra rinse and stopped the cycle and tried just a spin only, but it kept doing it. I thought maybe it was the heat of the laundry room getting to the control board making it act funny, but here it might have just thought it was out of balance. (My load was not unbalanced either when it was doing this). Then that brings about the question, why didn't it do this with that out of balance mop head load? lol

    Hi there I had the 680 model of this washer it had a wash plate and sprayed water down while washing. It was so rough on fabrics that its shredded the interface out of two brand-new pajamas. I returned it I couldn't take that plus the deep fill never filled up the washer all the way I had to unplug it and plug it back in press deep fill and then finally It would fill up with water. I reported this to GE and that's what the bright customer service representative told me to do I said this is not acceptable to have to plug it in and unplug it to reset it all the time so I called PC Richards and they took it back. That's when I got my Speed Queen set happy ever since.

    No, I do not have this in stock anymore. I'm not sure if I will keep this one in stock. This machine makes a loud noise when trying to maintain spin speed, It's normal for this machine but the sound is a little startling. See 55:05 as noted in comments below. I think on cycles like bulky where spin speed needs to low the noise is most notable. On normal cycles the final spin does not need to be governed, so you do not hear the noise trying to lower the rpms.

It has been a piece of shit! Tub cover has been replaced 4 times due to leakage in the aquajet mode. The top and the door have been replaced due to rust out. This pile of crap is only 5 years old. The wash action on this General Electric is very good. Better than the Maypool, i mean Whirltag, oh what the hell, the Maytag. Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006.

    So Rick. This can still be purchased because best of the crap out there. Appreciate your video. This is a 2018 model and still in high demand because of the water temp changes with OBAMA that adds cold water automatically to hot to save us from ourselves in energy although costs us more as we run more cycles to rinse out detergent. At least this model has warm rinse that helps. OBAMA admin never met with the manufacturers that would have said bad idea, It does not save us anything particulary money, ALl the new HE detergent basically is dry cheaning your clothes with chemicals. At least it is not 8 gallons of water like front loaders. BUY THIS MACHINE. Best bet and contact your congressmen to change this and vote socialism out that makes decisions without knowledge for you. I will update when get machine,

    After much research on my own - it only goes to 26 gallons which is amazing because most got to 13. Unfortunately you non longer can get true hot water as OBAMA decided to save us from using energy just like healthcare and put cold water into the hot to save energy???? I have to use my costs to rinse out the low water from a front loader 2 times and still does not get rinsed. I am buying this product for the 26 gallons and the rinse cycle Trying to figure out if I turn off the cold water valve will I get hot water?!!

    I have a Whirlpool Cabrio I bought ne w last year. I get TRUE hot water from the tap. I can see the steam coming from the lid as it operates. Please don't listen to the political filled nonsense comments.

    it appears as HE, but during the ash it dumped twice more water than side loader machine. Really hate a top loader. Mainly producing for an American market, no other countries using top loaders

    Pat Cola, I like top loaders too. I've seen your comments on different places. So I'm guessing you already made a decision on what washer to buy. If that's the case which one did you buy & are you happy with your purchase?
