Wilko have very high quality peony bulbs, the price is amazing. They grow very well, especially the Sarah Bernhardt.

I bought 3 packs from Wilko yesterday. White, Red and Pink. I was happy i had two bulbs in the white pack when I should have had only 1.

Is there a part 2 to this?

Hi, I’ve just treated myself to some beautiful peony roots. Plan to grow them in pots. Do you cut the stems away eg in the autumn/winter in the first year or first few years, or is it that you just let them grow and grow and once they are more established you cut them down to base level every year? Oh you don’t know how happy I am you said this! I currently have a peony growing, September will be a year and it did turn yellow/brown so I cut it not wanting any rot etc! Glad I haven’t killed it 😂 looking forward to growing my new babies soon! Thanks again 🙏🏼

Hi, Thanks for the video. do you recommend growing peony in container as you said you grow them in container in first year of planting. I have planted them in pot with possible plan to plant in ground but if container is good option then i would rather keep them in container. Thanks

I keep them under my front window tight against the wall that way they don't get to wet and get a lot of heat from the wall

I have a dilemma about where to place the pot . I have a terrace which receives sunlight from morn to evening it's okay in winter coz the sun is not that strong but at other times the heat will be too strong. And other place is also a terrace but it has roof ,it gets slight sunlight but not much where should I plant it . please tell me. In the roofed terrace I grow periwinkle, amaryllis, jasmines etc

I know it's been 11 months since your video but hope you reply to my question. I live in calgary Alberta, Canada and there's still snow here. Would these survive in pots and kept in my home in a full sunny window until I can get them outside?

They survive upto -15°c so should be fine.

If I was to plant now would i get flowers the first year? Or next?

it all depends on how big the bare root plants are

I'm a complete noobie to gardening and was looking to plant peonies in a lot. In the video, what's the soil/compost ratio and which goes at the bottom. Sorry if I sound like an idiot

The previous bulbs I tried to grow didn't end up well. When I watered everyday it got rotten , when i skipped one day it shriveled and died. How should I water it

I decided to water all my plants 1 day a week during winter. Every Saturday's.

1. Do the blooming heads have to be exposed for successful flowers? 2. Is 3 per pot way too crowded?

Morrisons also have some for £2 now and they are really good. Had them before and one even flowered the first year.

I bought the same bulbs last month and mine have started sprouting in the bag. Im panicing as I am new to gardening and I thought I have to wait until the last frost. What should I do? please help lol newbie gardener

I would plant them into a pot if they have started growing then when it warms up you can put the pot outdoors and into your boarders good luck

@@_Happysowinghappygrowing where would you advise to put them for the meantime as I only have a small south facing window but it gets very cold at night in my property. And a east facing window. I was told that I could put them outside and cover it with fleece at night but I am not so sure. Totally confused and thank u so much for the advice 😁

you should stop them from drying out but also not so much as to cause them to rot its basically a learning process i am sure you will work it out every where is different

sorry to hear that you could ask a friend if they have some growing for a cutting

I have read that peonies need to be potted in pots that are at least a foot and half deep and wide. Is this not really the case? I see you used a significantly smaller pot. 🤔

mine do fine in this sized pot but they will be potted on this year its there fourth year in this sized pot
