This is awesome didn't know it was possible.
Yes it had saved me a fortune
What month is the best time to grow Aster from the seeds please
start 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date i hope that you enjoy growing them please let me know how they get on
I cant actually see where you are cutting as your pruners are off camera ..where on the stem do I cut ? And please , no offence, can you speak a little slower?
i cut just above a leaf node that is where the next set of leafs are in the stem sorry about talking to fast
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing thankyou for responding , I've got a nice patch , all in flower, I'll cut them as you advise.
Good luck
Your baskets are absolutely gorgeous!
Glad you like them! i love the scent
I don’t use secateurs to dead head my petunias. The dead flowers come out easily.
I use Scissors I find it gives a real good clean cut
Beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
Everything is looking lovely, love the white phlox😀🌼🦋
Thanks so much me too u love the beautiful scent especially in the evening
What kind of pesticide did you squirt on the lily bulbs?
bayer garden
What the hell was the point of this - we know how to spray but with what ?
sorry 😞 i must do better
Can you use a stone rather than a file?
You certainly can
Love your baskets, especially the lemon and purple😀🌼🌸🐝
Thanks so much! 😊 me too I can't wait to start taking cuttings for next year saving me lots of money
Lovely display as always❤👍
Thank you
What do you use and how do you attach it to the house for your climbing plants
i use plastic coated wire and depending on how much weight it is going to support weave several strands together i drill into the bricks not the mortar and then use 2 to 3 inch screws
No bare hands!!! Cmon this one is no joke Please wear gloves ❤
i always wash my hands immediately after touching them
Do we need to prune leafs before winter?
Yes cut down to just above ground level after the first frost good luck
I love lupins I was late at buying the plant this year they were beautiful red the bees absolutely love them they are so pretty. My question is I’ve cut them back today and took the furry pods off. I’ve popped open a couple and there is no seeds . I’m only new to gardening if anyone could point me in right direction . When’s best to put them in the soil do you just put them in where you want them to grow . Thank you 🌸
i wait until the seed pods turn black then you know that they are ready to harvest i have a video showing you how to collect the seeds i hope that you find it useful please let me know how you get on good luck 👍
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing Thank you I will try this .
I was recently told that beer traps actually attract slugs and snails to your garden. They can smell it from way off and make a beeline for your garden.
Brilliant so my neighbours can thank me flor getting rid of there slugs & snails 🐌 lol
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing that’s what I thought. I have enough problems with the slugs and snails of my own, I really don’t need to be inviting over the slugs and snails from the rest of the street for an all night party 😂
thats what i like about using the beer method at least they go out Happy lol
This is one flower I can sow and raise during June to grow. Another thing, do 90% of all flowers and plants grow fully in top gear during June?
sounds great 👍
Flowers look pretty, love the lemon petunias😀🌼
Me to I will definitely be keeping all my Petunias over winter and taking as many cuttings as I can ready for next year
Really beautiful flowers 🌺😊
i love petunias for there flowers and scent
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing I’m having a real problem with slugs I put copper round the pots they still got in the only thing that worked was beer in a pot I got some gold mesh to tie round the pots I’ll see how that goes even in my little greenhouse they ate all my seedlings that were shooting up so much rain here, yes petunias are lovely.
@@kimberley1195 yes the beer 🍺 in pots definitely works well
How do u take cuttings from petunias
@@BourneKerry I have a video showing how to take Petunia cuttings I hope that you find it useful please let me know how you get on good luck 👍
Thankyou,I'll give it ago
Good luck 👍
I've tried the pellets,worked at first,now not working,also I have pets,so I have to be careful
Sorry to hear that i have used an empty jam jar dug into the soil so it is level then pour in the bottom 1 to 2 inches of strong beer or larger them leave over night and like magic you will have lots of slugs and snails 🐌
Any ideas, how I can keep slugs, snails ,from eating my petunias, marigolds
if you haven't got pets o i would use pellets
Fabulous
thank you 😊
Love lobelia. Great presentation. Will it grow in 8B Zone/Atlanta area?
Yes it will
30% of my Farmer Gracy bulbs did not germinate the first year, 70% for this year, and this does not come from my soil because I have bulbs that have been in the ground for 20 years and are still flowering... I do not recommend farmer gracey....it's disposable
this is my first year ordering dahlias and begonias and every single one has grown brilliantly i can't recommend them enough sorry about yiur experience
Your Geranium is Geranium x oxonianum 'Wargrave Pink'
thanks i finally know it's name
That hedge is coming on isn’t it? We are heading into winter here now and had a really bad time this year with whitefly and earwigs then shieldbugs/stink bugs, still plenty of flowers and growth again though. I don’t want to spray but will need to next spring. My hollyhock seems to keep returning every year, hard to get rid of now but I love the self seeders. What are you spraying them with and for? Bugs? Rust? I have found buying poppy seed for cooking from Indian/Asian stores and tossing that out brings some beautiful flowers I didn’t know there were perennial poppies though I have hostas hope they come back when it gets warm here, they take a while to come on so hoping they do spread out. Have you found that to be the case? Forget me nots are lovely I just let ‘em grow where they choose and where I find them. I have some very new lupins I’ve put in and hope come spring they’ll do a good job. Please keep posting the lupins I’d love to see how they go. Cosmos self seeds for me here but they grow where ever they like and I just let them it can get a bit wild but I like it that way. They are trying to ban foxgloves where I am. It’s sad because it’s so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more of you and hoping you pop up more regularly now I’ve commented And thank you! It is lovely to watch your garden come on as mine is going to sleep. Aquilegias are my absolute favourite, such a fairy flower. Those peonies are gorgeous !I’ve had some in for a while but nothing is happening Do you think I should move them and plant them a bit more shallow to get em to flower? I had to get rid of my ivy it was eating my house and coming in through the power points.
First i spray for lily beetle and greenfly and whitefly i also spray my hollyhocks for rust and my Petunias & lupins for powdery mildew it can quite a problem if i dont spray regularly i use a liquid i will have tocget back to you with a brand name sorry i love any flowers that self seeded i think it gives my garden a more natural look thanks for watching and subscribing it really helps my channel i look forward to hearing from you on my next video
Thankyou😀
You're welcome 😊
Hello! You often don’t show up in my feed even though I’m subbed and have notifications on but I have seen you today! Watching now excited for the catch up
Awesome! Thank you!
Do the seeds apear in the flower?
sorry i am not sure what you mean
No poppies planted😅
no not enough room unfortunately
Love the colour of the petunias, can’t wait to see them when they’re grown. I have just planted some sweet peas in a container, should I start feeding them straight away, I know there’s some feed in the potting soil?😀🌼
yes i do i never trust how much feed is left in the compost i feed mine twice a week with a mixture of miracle grow and tomorite good luck
My bracket just fell off. What are those exact plugs please?
i use masonry wall plugs drilled into the brick not the mortar
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing thank you, I didn't drill into mortar as it crumbles. Maybe I drilled too far, I am not really sure.
Good luck i don't know what to recommend it sounds like your wall plugs might be to small if they have pulled out of the wall
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing actually that was the screws that pulled out of plugs :/
So the screws pulled the plugs out then I would say you need bigger screws are you using the correct sized drill bit
Looking lovely, love those poppy’s😀🌼
Thanks so much 😊 me to
Should of been wearing safety glasses. Don't want to spend 10 hours at A&E waiting to be seen. Thanks for sharing.
I know I must remember to wear them
Looking lush
thanks i love this time of year something new to look at every day
👍👍👍
thanks
im reading no seed cover
It's just the way I do it
They look so gooooood!! My seedlings take forever to get to that stage!
things are getting mad but i love this time of year in my greenhouse
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing they are so lush and healthy! Wish I could stop over watering! I need to go through your videos more thoroughly. Thanks for the post!
i hope that you enjoy watching my videos please let me know how you get on thanks 😊
Thank You. I just wondered, did you use same soil, or put fresh soil in?🕊️ 🙏❤️🙏
i used the same but fresh is a good idea if you have some good luck and thanks for watching
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing Thank You, and GOD Bless You Always and Everywhere.🕊️❤️🙏
Thanks 😊 🙏
I've used farmer gracey for the last 2 years. Their range is massive, I grew dahlias last year. I couldn't keep the slugs off them, any tips would be appreciated xx
if you have not fot pets thdn pellets afe aggod option if you want to go organic then a glass jar with about 2 inches of beer in it then Berry it upto the top level with the soil i hope that tbis helps good luck
I just bought the one from Lidl (Parkside) and it keeps falling of the end of the hose !lol
sorry to hear that
Hi, after pricking them out do you put them back on the heat mats after, I fancy it’s been a lot colder this year😀 thank you for sharing
no they will go back into the greenhouse on my unheated bench i am really looking forward to the rest of the year i think the weather is finally starting to warm up
Ok thank you😀
Thank you for this helpful information. I removed the females from the plant. My Miss Malibu begonia baskets are in poor condition as I am new to begonias and really could use some advice. When removing the dead flowers do you remove the stem all the way to the plant base?
Do you mean the stem or the soil I normally just pinch out the flower head and leave it like that
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing for example I had some male flowers that are drying out because the bloom is old. Do I just pinch that off at the bloom or do I pinch the whole stem off all the way down to the main stem base?
@@Lauren-wc2rj I just remove the flowers when they are goi over
Thanks for this, i have tried in the past and killed them transplanting the little ones. Looks like i moved them too soon so fingers crossed for this time.
Good luck please let me know how they get on
The first stages, really looking forward to seeing how these farmer grace turn out, do you use tomato rite as a fertiliser, in not what do you use and at what stage do you fertilise your Begonia please.
yes i use a mixture or tomorite and miracle grow i find by alternating gives me the best results i wait until my begonias are a few inches tall i hope that this helps Thanks 😊
@@_Happysowinghappygrowing yeah thats great thanks, iv got 16 begonia in a pop up green house at the min only just sprouting leaves so il wait a few weeks 👍
sounds great 👍
Thanks for your video it's very helpful. Hope your abscess gets better soon. I am growing seeds for the first time. I've sown a few sunflowers and about 24 cosmos, just wondering if it is too late to sow more sunflowers? Also, how many sunflowers do you grow? I dont want to sow too many. Thanks so much.
it all depends on how much space i have any i don't need i will sell at the car boot near me sunflowers grow really fadt so no its not to late good luck please let me know how you get on e
Hi u2 which soil for begonias +dahlias I forgotten and I'm hoping to plant up tomorrow iv got both soils can you tell me please as I follow your planting ❤❤
Let me check i have star using westlands multi purpose peat free compost with John innes its a brilliant all round perfect for starting dahlias and begonias and really good for seed sowing i cant recommend it enough its the only one i will be using from know on
The heat seems to make a big difference.😀🌼
definitely i am ao glad i sowed two lots so i could see the difference
