    Yes, songs had to be 3 minutes or shorter for AM radio format. Then FM radio came along, and longer songs were allowed.

    With the "swampy" and "bayou" themes running through their repertoire, plus the drawling southern voice and backing vocals of the band members, you can practically see these guys eating grits for breakfast and fried catfish and okra for dinner. Well, they're a CALIFORNIA BAND!

    If this was too short, y'all need to go back to their first album and their first big hit. "Suzie Q." It even says "Featuring Suzie Q." on the front of the album. Eight minutes and 42 seconds of eargasmic sauce and solos.

    Next by CCR - “Midnight Special.” You get the bonus of an education in early blues - they use some of the same riffs played by Lead Belly who recorded his version in 1934.

    You guys should definitely do the song "Lodi", next. It will instantly become one of your favorite CCR tunes. It's basically about a musician going out on the road chasing his dream of being a star. But, he finds it's not an easy road at all. More of a somber tune, but great.

    It's funny how a group with origins in San Francisco became a wildly successful Southern rock band. And so many hits from a relatively short-lived band. I think you'll enjoy Green River. I don't think you've reacted to Lookin' Out My Back Door, Proud Mary, or Suzie Q. All worthy for reactions.

    I've never heard them called a Southern Rock band. They were one of a kind that sounded like no other band. CCR songs are great to cover if you are in a band because they are so much fun to play.

    @@nyobunknown6983 I say Southern Rock because Fogerty had that distinct Southern twang to his voice and the majority of their songs are set in the South and have Southern themes. They did definitely have a unique sound that is hard to classify in one genre.

    For your next CCR reaction, I recommend either "Proud Mary", "Who'll Stop the Rain", or "Up Around the Bend". Their version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is very good, definitely worth hearing, but the other 3 songs I mentioned are 3 of their very best songs, songs that anyone that loves CCR has got to hear, and all 3 are John Fogerty compositions.

    They definitely tapped into a winning formula. This is a band where you can just put on the whole album and use it as cheerful background music. You'll be humming and tapping your feet whether driving, mowing the grass, doing dishes - whatever. Also, they are apparently great for playing during Vietnam movie scenes. I think you would love their cover of Heard it Through the Grapevine.

    Agree, I never tire of their formula. You should react to their official video of ‘Lookin Out My Backdoor’, where they are sitting in their shack playing another great song and making it look so easy.

    Hey guys. Two songs from CCR that must be heard are Ramble Tamble and Effigy. These aren't popular songs, and not many people know them, but for real, 100%, no BS, those two are the best CCR songs. Guaranteed.

    "Green River" and "Willy and the Poor Boys" are their two most consistent albums if you ever go for a full ride. "Lodi" is the key single you have not covered. Tons of bar bands did it back in the day...

    If you're into CCR, you might want to try Blood, Sweat and Tears next. "Spinning Wheel" and "And When I Die" are good places to start. Same kind of folky sound, but less Southern.

    I haven't heard a bad CCR song. Heard it Through the Grapevine is a must listen. A good cover, with their spin on it of course. Travelin Band is a definite banger though. You need to do that one also.

    This band have amazed ever since, my friend Dave introduced us to it.Play Up around the bend. John Fogerty singer is a legend everywhere. They have put alot of songs Run through the Jungle to Vietnam War footage. They caught the mood after all these years still my favourite band. Mike D uk keep on playing dudes.

    I'm sure it's been mentioned but CCR were from the San Francisco area and had never been anywhere near a bayou when they wrote/performed these songs. Fogerty liked the style. Learned the techniques and the feel... and let it loose on the world.

    Their cover of "Heard it Through the Grapevine" is awesome, good choice. Bad song live-stream is BAD IDEA. We want to watch you hear the best, and you are at a point in this journey that is a long way away from a place where you can responsibly take air-time from some of the best songs ever made in order to make us watch you react to crap.     One of the phrases in this song is a reference not only to a real thing, but was also the title of an absolutely fantastic song, one of my favorites, from the album right before this I think. Cross Tie Walker.
