I am a US citizen I filed for my mother last year June 2020 for change of Status. My mother did her biometric earlier this year in the US on Mar 14th 2021. To our surprise we received a letter from USCIS stating she needs to resubmit another form i-485 with another fees and supporting documents which we have already did last year and the USCIS sent us I-796C of notice of action of the receipt of confirmation of payment for the change of status. My mother has already been assigned A-number & USCIS online number too. So my question is are we supposed to pay twice under a year for a fee we already paid 10 months ago? I tried reaching USCIS on this matter & I was told someone will get in touch with us in the next three business days nobody has contacted us since July 1st i first called them via phone. What do we do? Do we continue to wait to hear from them?

Well, I submitted my RFE response 273 days ago and still nothing from USCIS. If you add up the 12 months of wait prior when I submitted my I-751 and it’s been now over 20 months total. This worries me. I’m still on my temporary residency since I arrived in the USA 4 years ago...

Hi this video was really helpful! The example you gave at 4:30 about the second son who was over 21 at the time of his mom’s naturalization, just to clarify IF the son at the time of his mom’s naturalization was 22, then his CSPA age would be calculated based on his visa availability in the F2B category right, since to calculate CSPA you need your visa category to be available or current? (Very similar to my case). I was 22 when my petitioner (mom) became a US citizen. So USCIS said I have an option between F2B or F1, even though I was less than 21 when my I 130 was approved. My visa category country is India.
