Thank you for your tips. I got my B1/B2 visa approved last August 6. I am a full time mom, my children are all grown up. First 3 questions all the same as you said. Where are you going? How long you intend to stay? Just make all your answers simple and honest, you are absolutely right! Was just asked like 6 questions. The last question was why didn't you stay longer in bermuda? My honest reply was " I need to go home, my children needed me here more than my husband does ( my husband is working in Bermuda, I visited him last 2016 for 2 mos). Ok your visa has been approved, it will be delivered to you in 1 week. After 3 days it was delivered to me. Thanks God!!!

My wife had only one question: "Do you want to work in the USA?" She laughed and said "No". Visa approved. Interestingly, about a week before her appointment, she got a phone call from an unknown number. The caller stated that she can get people jobs in the EU, then asked if my wife was interested in moving to the EU. "No". "What about the USA?" "No". I think an employee from the US Embassy made this call to test her intentions.

I finally got a multiple entry visa and excited to be in the US in 2weeks from now. What i did differently this time? I made it clear that I don't plan to move to the US permanently. Organisations, to save cost, provide B1/B2 Visa for activities related to work, and employees do not do enough homework, B1/B2 is NOT about work, it's just about Business meetings and Tourism 2) You are NOT a criminal, do not panic, be perfectly natural 3) Do not 'prepare' for the interview, just answer everything as it is, do not play around 4) DO NOT use the word 'work' in your interview, you are sure to pass!!! 5) Stand up right 6) Smile and talk, and talk well, don't over do, don't give one word answers 7) If you get an answer wrong due to some pressure, no worries, apologise and start again

I never had any tickets at all, no bank statements, no work records, no ties to my home country shown. Just passport and application, no other docs. Trip reason: "To have fun". Got the visa for 10 years. was 5 times in the US already. When my visa expires I will simply mail my passport to the Embassy to renew it - same type, same period, no any additional interviews. In general, the US visa was the easiest one in my life.

Very good tips. BUT those interviews are more like a show. They don’t even listen to the answers of their questions. Your approval or denial of the visa has already been decided before you step in the embassy. Let’s say it’s more like a winning of a lottery. Probably they randomly pick one or two applications to approve for the day 😊

I think the reason is they do not want the baby to be born in the US. If so, the baby becomes a US citizen. A tourist visas sole intention is to come and go back to your native country and if they see anything that will prolong your stay in the US, unfortunately they’ll deny it. Praying you get it the next time you apply.

Take a look at this video and the videos on what documents to bring tot he interview. She has to show strong ties to her home country (house, job, family, bank statements). If there is an event she is coming for (wedding, graduation, etc. and she can provide the invitation, all the better).

I just got denied yesterday , 28 May 2019....I applied 4 years ago(30years old ), no property, no kids, not married, but had a permanent job and wanted to go for 2 weeks that winter(white Christmas 😊) 4 years later, I'm teaching in China, still single, no kids, had all stamped relevant documents from the school and personal documents. Working legally in China (proper working visa...etc)...I have travelled(backpacked) to Europe, South America, Asia and Africa, all on my own expense... I'm South African btw. I arrived at the consulate yesterday with everything, the Chinese American lady asked for my passport and started typing (that A4 refusal letter, I was assuming). She asked what my purpose was, I said, to visit family/friends (10 days). She asked no other documents. I asked her if I could ask a question 🤣, she says "Yeah?" May I give you a/the letter of invitation? Her response, "we don't usually ask for things like that"...now I'm highly confused. She further asks, what is different now to the first time I applied and got denied? My quickest response was to say that I have travelled to other countries purely for travelling purposes. There my DS160 and $160 goes down the drain. So questions like ties to one's country had to be somewhat null and void, because what do I say? I applied in and from a foreign country than to my own. I find it strange that non of my documents were asked. Some people have mentioned that they possibly work with a quota system?which makes me think, the time that the DS160 is submitted, is that when there's already an outcome? And that it's just protocol to appear for the interview? I can understand the tightening of laws/policies and that there are people don't intend to return...etc. it makes it very difficult. I don't mean to be a discouragement, but the chances are highly unlikely for the 'random/average ' person it seems. Maybe I'm taking it a little too personally, but I don't think these vids help much. There are a lot of different types of reasons and factors that play a role in that few min with the consular officer.

Hi Fabian, I am sorry you received a denial. If you try again, just answer their questions politely and keep it short and sweet. Avoid asking any questions or presenting documents they did not ask for. Good luck! Courtney

On the embassy web sites they say don’t buy a airplane ticket or book hotels because of the unknown schedule for the Visa and if it will be approved. Yes someone can have a plan like I will be gone these theee weeks and staying in various AirBNB’s.” Or does everything need to be booked? Then if not given visa cancel everything?
