I grew up in Prahran, Victoria, Australia in the 1970s and we had a huge Greek community there at the time which meant many wonderful Greek cake shops! I think I may have tried this before but a very long time ago. It reminds me of the other custard dessert wrapped in filo pastry. I have very fond memories of Greek food and Greek people from my childhood.

Just tried your recipe yesterday and it s the bomb! I was surprised to find out how sweet it is, and most of all, how easy was to make! Thanks!

I made it few days ago and it was successful and tasty :) I had to bake it a bit longer to get a nice crust. It was similar in taste to a cheesecake (in my family we usually add semolina to the cheesecake), but a lot lighter and fresher, which is good! I was surprised by its sweetness - I didn't need to add honey nor sugar anymore. I love how few ingredients are needed and how EASY ("EAZZZY!") it is to prepare, thanks Akis!

In South Africa 🇿🇦 we call this Melk tart funny its also an old Dutch recipe but here in Holland you can't really find it. I Love it!

I’m half Greek too :). I have no connection to GR since my father passed away. Learning & cooking Greek recipes is the only avenue I’m able to bring Greek culture back into my life

Why does sb have to choose? Cream AND chocolate... each one has its own... perks. Besides, in Greece we've got a proverb; ο καλός ο μύλος όλα τα αλέθει, meaning a good mill grinds everything. By the way, galatopita or galakopita, is a traditional recipe of Mani, a little province in the very south of the Peloponnese, my homeland.

i am a cream person... unless it is coconut cream pie, then i like a thin layer of chocolate on the crust and a little crazy choco decoration (to make it more sexy!)

It look like Italian migliaccio, however we add ricotta in place of butter. Why do not add greek yogurt or goat cheese instead if butter?

I prefer cream, personally.
