Yes, as a baseline, performing at a professional level night after night, show after show can be taxing and exhausting. I'm just saying that Andy signed up to be in a band, not an astronaut (the closest equivalent experience). What a great video - Poor Andy, must be hard to be enthusiastic when you feel like throwing up all the time, and trying not to for the entire take.
This is why Andy is my favorite in the band. If you watch, he's usually the one that almost messes it up but he's a beast for going back up when he doesn't want to for the sake of the band.
My dad refuses to believe the video was done in no gravity and now I can show him this video! Thanks for the incredible dedication to making art

@@andTutin yeah everyone keeps saying "zero-gravity" but it's not. Gravity is present just like on land but the plane accelerates into FREEFALL. It's like being in zero gravity but you're actually falling at full gravitational acceleration.
way to go andy for being a champ and doing something he didn't for the rest of the team. That truly shows his professionalism and is an inspiration to the dynamics of team work
Loved this, trying to explain to my kids about how the cosmonaut training plane works, the low gravity and parabolas etc, and this made it so easy. If anyone involved reads this, thank you so much for showing how exciting physics and art, and working towards a difficult goal can be. My kids have really loved it and hopefully learned a bit about science, art and hard work too.

Gravity isn't a habit, it's obsession
To feel that level of achievement in life. So awesome.
Andy at 16:26 "i will not let this fucking suitcase ruin this take. Get the fuck out of here"
I just want to give Andy a hug
I'm amazed at how far the band has come, from shooting a video in the backyard to zero gravity, what a journey! You guys rock and I look forward to seeing the next project.
Most underrated band in America and Russia
''i realized that once you start working with professionals it doesn't really seem like work'' true. Incredible. A huge bravo to you guys. You may like the song or not, but this is the absolute best music video ever, and it will very hard to beat. Maybe the 1st one from the Moon or Mars will beat it.
Already saw this on Netflix but it's super awesome of you guys to make this publicly available :) I love your stuff and your creative passion.
I know this music video came out a while ago but I’m seriously obsessed with it now. It’s been the first time I was able to express this kind of process and how it was physically possible back to my mother (after showing the video to her) without getting my brain turned inside out (heee heeee) in the attempt. I realize why teachers are using your videos in physics class. They make it look genuinely interesting and amazing and also really simple and touchable. I’m really amazed by every project you’ve been making real since Here It Goes Again, and since I’m against a creative roadblock, your videos are healing. Thank you.
Being a pro means doing that thing that you don't want to do, to get it done. Which is basically what Andy did. Hats off.
So many warm fuzzy feelings in this video. I am just very happy to be a part of this, even as just a single fan..
Andy went back up, had to wrestle with a suitcase, and got the damn shot!
And now I understand that the amazing video you created was far more talent, work and creativity than I had imagined from just watching the actual video! The team of people who all worked together on this through language barriers, idea conceptions and what you did is truly a testament to all of your talent! Thank you!
Now I understand that moment at the end with Andy being so frustrated with the suitcase. He was so determined as well as fearful that they wouldn't get the shot and would have to go up again. If I were him, I would be horrified.
You guys are the definition of amazing, and you're such a huge inspiration for people like me, who are always in the search for creativity in the things we love. From a young audiovisual student, what you do is what dreams are made of. Thank you for your music, and your videos, and your passion.
One of the best music video I had ever seen.
I have so much fucking respect for Andy.
This is so badass! Thanks for an even more in depth look at how you did this! OK GO is the SHIT!
'Upside Down & Inside Out' was the first video I saw from OK GO 2 hours ago. I sat in awe... no words, until I started seeing more videos. You have an awesome producer, director and cameraman. Brilliant! Love them!

Best one yet, nice one Andy.
I loved the music video, the concept, the behind the scenes but in the final product, we all know what really fucked them up. That one green suitcase that got into the last guy's seat. :/

I loved the music video, and the way you guys pulled it off is incredible!
This might have been the best music video ever
This makes me so happy!!
The lyrics were true with that failed shot. "Did someone die inside?.. Don't stop can't stop..."
I feel sorry for the plane! The fatigue on the body and wings must be incredible! Great Russian engineering! So how did they clean all the paint up inside the plane? So nice to see the hugs at the end despite the language barriers... I love it when we can all transcend the cultural barriers and have a hug... should be more of it. Wish the politicians could understand that.

There is no significant stress on the plane. All jet aircraft are designed within a boundary of expected loads, and these parabolic curves are well within them. The plane is not fighting forces, it's flying with them.

A plane is designed to withstand something like this. Recently the Airbus A300 Zero G was retired and is now preserved as Cologne Bonn Airport. At it's place is now an A310.
This is so COOL to be able to see a “Behind the Scenes” look at how this video was created. I first saw this video when it first came out & had aired on FUSE Rock Music Television. It’s beautiful to see how they went for Cosmonaut training in Russia so that way they could be able to fly as high as they did. (I only ever noticed the small notification that they give before the video which says “What you are about to see is Real”
....was that Andy getting his nose hair clipped?? (Oh, I guess it's a spray of some kind.) Oh man, how much did he hurt whoever demanded that be included, lol? That's dedication. But seriously....for you guys, the extra mile is like, what, a millimeter? Pfft. You eat extra miles for breakfast. Thank you for sharing all of this with us.

You're wrong on one point : the extra-mile is always an extra-mile. Some people only train everyday to be able to run for 100 miles at once. ;)
omg this is awesome! i love watching behind the scenes and the making of for any video! this one was especially great because everyone involved was so humble and takes what they do so serious while having the best time that they can! congrats on this video it was amazing to see it all come together!
This is dedication. Amazing work, guys.

Physics nerd here. I'm totally geeing out on this. Love it. New bucket list item...?
This documentary has a killer soundtrack.
Thank you so much for this video. The original music video is just so amazing, but all through it I couldn't help wondering how it was done, knowing you only get about 20 seconds of zero gravity time per dive. I'm still amazed that they executed that many parabolas one after the other. It must have been really expensive and very nauseating. But now I know how it's done, I can go back and watch the video again and enjoy the sheer spectacle.
If I could give thousand likes, I'd do that. This is an example of collaboration between civilizations. Great work guys!
Ive been waiting for this video for 1 year, 1 month and 24 days. Jesus christ finally.
Love you guys! Not only is the music great, but the videos are classic art! I was in the Air Force and did what we call the Vomit Comet maneuvers like you did in zero G. It was awesome and some of the best times I remember, except for the sudden G rush at the bottom of the parabola. Sometimes two or three G onsets. I give the Russian pilots credit for what appeared to be a smooth maneuver set. If you have a chance to do this, take it. It is a once in a life time opportunity! PS...even during the cold war, I thought the Russian people to be awesome and still do. I hope to visit there some day.
