1.09 update got released

As a franchise, comparably I have to give a shout-out to Turn 10 and Playground games. They’re not perfect either however at least they awarded players who showed they owned previous Forza games free cars based upon the “cover cars” from those respective titles as a thank you for buying their latest title. A little goodwill goes a long way to the people who have supported their games. Also Forza Horizon games allow users to sell their cars in game from day one. Sony and Polyphony should have done more research prior to releasing this game. They really look bad on this occasion. I bought GT7 based upon the reviews. Their tomfoolery worked. They’ve lost credibility in my book. I definitely will not give one more cent towards their ecosystem in this game.

I'm personally locked into the Xbox ecosystem when it comes to driving games often a bit bamboozled by Logitech who only make proprietary spec racing wheels meaning I would have to buy a separate racing wheel just to play PlayStation racers. That aside what a joke gt7 is and these companies really have a short memory. It took the gaming community to literally boycott battlefront 2 to get the loot boxes and microtransactions removed. Reflecting on gt7 the damage has now been done Sony you have blown it.

Hi Jay, good to hear from you mate. Yeah, couldn’t agree more. This game will need a massive overhaul to turn it around and I’m not entirely sure Polyphony and Sony are prepared to do that. Good point about the driving wheels too. It’s one of the things that has stopped me going down that road.

I would have bought this but feel exactly the same way as you do about it so I didn’t bother. Any interest I had in it has gone. I don’t even think I would have the motivation to download it if it came to psn as a free game.

What they have done to this game is utterly ridiculous. The greed on show is up there with anything the likes of EA or Activision have pulled and I honestly don't trust what they are saying about making changes to the game. Coming out with some of the most egregious microtransactions ever seen in a game, then making them slightly better just doesn't cut it in my book. The game's monetisation needs a complete overhaul before I will even entertain the idea of purchasing it.

The only way they will learn is when GT8 comes out in a few years, no one should buy it and teach them a lesson, but in reality that will nwver happen.

Your argument is sound. Especially when Sony and other companies “double-dip” with micro transactions after charging you full price. This is a terrible practice that too many people support just because they want to play the newest game. Gran Turismo is one of those titles and franchises that a lot of gamers are nostalgic about. You have gamers and sim racers that find the franchise attractive relative for their love of cars or simulated racing. This needs to change.

Couldn’t agree more. If you are paying full price for a game, you should be able to relax and just play it. A mate of mine says the distinction should be between withheld content and additional content. If a company is holding back content so they can charge you extra for it, that’s out of order. If they release a full product then work on new content to add to the game, then it’s acceptable to charge extra because they’ve put in the time and effort. I think that’s pretty much spot on.

@@IamMarkSmith In my opinion it’s still not enough. Thankfully I own the ps3 which has GT5 and GT6, the glory days of Sony. As much as gaming companies try to forget the past to try to sell online subscription based drm games, those companies can’t come inside my home and take what I already purchased. I almost want to get a tattoo that boldly says RETRO GAMING FOR LIFE.

@@knowledgeseeker4116I’m right there with you. I still have my PS3 60 GB that I bought August 2007 and she’s still trooping along. It’s due for some TLC after all this time now though. I’m sure the thermal paste is as dry as sand at this point.

I was looking at getting an older cod game but £60-90 for a digital copy of a game that's 7 years old is a complete p**s take. Getting frustrated with gaming at the moment these companies are turning into vultures.

While I agree with some of this. No business, games or otherwise, would sell a better product on their shelves for the same price as a lesser product. That’s bad business. A PS5 version should be expected to be more expensive. We can discuss how much more but to say it should be the same as a PS4 version is just counter to all good business practices in all industries. It wouldn’t ever happen elsewhere

@@Jay-jb2vr I think you’re being way too defensive here and misunderstanding my point. I said nothing about favoring all of these greedy tactics. I actually agree with most of what was said. I’m simply pointing out that it’s common business practice to scale up the price of a product that has more value to the customer. A PS4 version of a game is a lesser quality version of the ps5 version. Hence the higher asking price. That doesn’t mean I’m in favor of them being 60-70$. I don’t favor price gouging customers. I actually agree they should be less cost overall. But saying both should be the same exact price is where I disagree. That’s all I’m saying

@@Jay-jb2vr try to order a cheeseburger from any fast food restaurant and add cheese and see if it’s the same price. Even it costs very little difference to make it, they will charge you more for the added value than the one without it

I think that’s how a lot of people feel. Nobody likes to be taken advantage of and this game is definitely trying to take advantage of fans. Frankly, what Sony have done here is disgusting.

@@nightwingnl5354 I think you could very well be right. If that is the case, I hope they get a bloody nose, though, because some of what they've been doing lately has been really anti-consumer. People need to vote with their wallets.

It also shows that game reviews are useless nowadays. And it also exposes game channels that don't re-review games when this kiind of things happens. Playstation will boycot sites/channels that review Sony games under 8/10 and everyone wants to make money.

Gaming is not supposed to be a cheap hobby. Console, TV, online, and so on, how much all that costs? Yet you complaining about game prices which is the point of all that, I wish games were even more expensive so they can be even more premium, better and bigger. If you can't afford gaming then stop playing and focus on your personal economy. Once you fix that go back to gaming. This is why I always preorder the special 80 or 90 dollar edition of the games I want.
