Props to the sherpas for making this even possible. Sherpas do all the work. They carry the food, camp supplies, and oxygen tanks.

It’s disrespectful when they’re not mentioned imho. They risk their lives to lay ropes and oxygen tanks ahead of time so that tourists can make the summit. It’s disingenuous for many to believe they conquered Everest vs were helped up by professionals who risked their lives.

The 3billion dollar$ that the Nepalese government receives and the 15 plus Million$ that the expedition businesses receive doesn't account for the $4000 that the Sherpa guides receive for their work. They are professional athletes to lead each tourist climber and Doctors/paramedics when tourists fail to summit. And how much has GoPro made off of their sponsor climber. Sherpas are the Himalayan Ambassadors - pay them as such! And more than the $5000 as a Supplementary Death Benefit should they die

Nowadays it's not an exceptional feat anymore. A bit like a while ago the five minute mile was considered inhuman, now most people in good shape can do a five minute mile. If you have money, good sherpas and are lucky with the weather (like this guy apparently) you can do it too. Nowadays people with nearly zero experience of mountaineering summit Everest every year now.

Since late 1961, at age 12, when "The Conquest of Everest" book - recounting the successful 1953 British expedition - fell into my hands, I've been a most dedicated Everest buff. Two years later, in 1963, the October issue of the National Geographic Magazine, carrying the story of the momentous American expedition, spurred my imagination even further. From that time onward, I've always wondered how must the Everest summit look like. So I avidly read or watched whatever Everest story, publication or video I managed to find. I even spoke personally with a couple of successful Everest summitters. However, nothing seemed to whet my appetite for a real-life summit image. Until now. Patience and resilience eventually bear fruit... Today, 61 years later, my wish has been thoroughly fulfilled. These astounding summit images just happened to be the second best to actually being there in person. My deepest gratitude to you for having made my dream come true.

Don't visit it, and don't encourage people who want to. The entire mountain should be closed to these clown shoes tourists who do nothing but leave garbage there and take goofy videos and tell themselves it's OK because they're "creating employment for the sherpas." Interesting fact : Mount Everest is the highest peak according to sea level ,the actual real highest point on earth is at the top of Mount Chimborazo ( Ecuador ) because that point is farthest away from the center of the earth, du to the planet being slightly bulged around the equator Mount Chimborazo sticks further out into the sky than Mount Everest does.
