I Jumped From Space (World Record Supersonic Freefall)
Спорт
What does it *really* feel like to jump from space? In 2012 Felix Baumgartner took a helium balloon into the stratosphere and skydived back to earth in a specially made space suit. Whilst in freefall he broke the speed of sound and entered a spin which threatened the entire Red Bull Stratos mission... Felix reflects on his achievement and shares what it really felt like to jump from the edge of space.

The older gentleman ( now sadly passed) who was advisor on this jump is Joseph Kittinger who held the record for a staggering 53 years. Unbelievably his freefall from 102,000 feet made in 1960 lasted all this time, until 2012. This man should never, ever be forgotten if we are to celebrate these feats. And he did it alone. What a man to have on your team to break the record. Felix is incredible but Joseph was equally so. And such a cool calm dude

Heartiest congratulations 🎉. Our Indian Army has the best Airborne para special officers and soldiers 😊 big love from 🇮🇳
beautiful idea
The emotions still run high watching this even after all these years. Truly incredible 👏

Agreed. The only reason mankind was able to expand is that many before them took risks that nobody else would. Many call them crazy. As a modern example the Oceangate sub. I 100% would have went on that if offered. I ride a motorcycle every day, I know I could be taken out in a flash and have had many close calls. I enjoy it, I would rather live and loose than sit in my rocking chair telling my grandchildren that the secret to living old is to be terrified of living.
Absolutely insane! Well done Felix
you r a great HERO
I took a day of from work to watch this happen live. And I remember that day vividly! The hours in the baloon was nice and calm. When the door opened, i got butterflies and eyes glued to the screen. When he jumped I was so exited!!! And when the spinning occurred, I was praying and rooting for Felix. And the loud cheer and screams that came, when he manage to take controll of the spin was pure happiness. Well done to Felox, the whole team and RedBull for making this possible 💙❤ what an achievement!!! 👏 👏 👏

@@fieldoperative0415 Just watched the no-chute skydive from 25,000 ft. The most impressive part was actually hitting the 30 x 30 metre net from that altitude, since it initially presented a target less than 0.25 degrees wide. However, it's worth noting that his speed at impact would have been the _same_ if he had jumped from only 2000 ft (the "miracle" of terminal velocity!), but it would make hitting the target much easier.
very amazing , like it , good job.

Saw this live in 2012, and damn, when Felix went into that spin I was standing up and screaming at my screen *_"COME ON FELIX, YOU CAN DO IT! STOP THAT SPIN!"_* and when he finally came out of it I realized my heart had been racing so fast and beating so hard that I had to sit down because I felt like I was gonna faint any second. When he landed I was screaming again, this time out of happiness and pride - even though I don't know Felix at all it felt like I had been with him the entire way down, and I felt so proud of him for making it. It was a *great* experience. Something I'll never forget. And I'm *so* happy that I caught the live broadcast!

what nonsense. From a height of 30 km, he wants to show us the curvature of the earth? Look thousands of km through the atmosphere, where you can only see 30 to 200 km away. What nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a one in a century experience for someone to free fall from space and from that height. You have to be prepared physically, emotionally and spiritually which honestly impresses me with how well Felix handled it. He has no fear.

He didn't jump from space, but from 39 km altitude in the _stratosphere._ The capsule he jumped from was brought up there by a large helium balloon which is visible at 0:18.

@@jacobpeters5458 According to the most common definition, space starts at 100 km, also known as the _Kármán line._ In reality, the atmosphere just gets thinner and thinner with altitude without any sharp boundary to space. Even the International Space Station at 400 km encounters enough air molecules to gradually to slow it down, explaining why it needs to be re-boosted by its thrusters to a higher orbit several times per year.

Sorry to bust your bobble but no one has lived to tell a story of falling from space, that is because it's impossible to do! No one can come close to achieving such a fleet! Beside, in order to enter space, you have to cross the Carmen Line, which= space. They had it set up like someone was really in space, when in actually he was on earth. Ha ha 😅
Never heard about it or seen this before. Just amazing and straight up crazy
