Adding increased taxes on top of growing inflation (have you bought any gas lately; bought any groceries) is taking more money out of peoples' wallets. Like they say, inflation acts like a tax, affecting the people who can least afford it (poor and lower income)--people buy less of what they want/need, or have to settle for lower, less-expensive alternatives since their money doesn't go as far.

I’d actually like to see a public referendum vote before passing the large expenditures! After all …. it is paid for by the taxpayers! We need laws to protect us from bills being passed without bipartisan approval. These bills need to be thoroughly read and discussed and debated carefully, and then voted on. Should be a limit on how many pages bills can be written on. Anything over 10 pages should be sent back for a rewrite. If this was the rule it would make it harder for either side to slip their wish list in.

He is saying there need to be some limitations in the bill on this subject. If a man has 13 kids and he gets into a situation where he needs care at home, should all 13 kids receive paid leave at the same time? Should a baby daddy who has five children by five different women get paid leave every time a woman has his child, even though he isn't going to actually be around that child on a regular basis? I took care of my father when he was failing, and I could not get any assistance, financial or otherwise. I understand the need for paid leave, but this bill as written can be abused.

This happens when your have a team of hundreds if not thousands of privately employed lawyers and legal advisers writing a bill or budget package over a series of weeks/months/years and a few hundred (at the most) Representatives to read, review, understand, and decide on said documents. The process is flawed and needs fixing.

There's no need for this 3T+ bill. We don't need this bill. We cannot afford it.

Ten thousand page bill costing 3.5T that we know of. It's like putting on a blindfold before walking in front of a firing squad.

Here's a thought. Make the pass a test on the bill before they can vote and before the vote can be done 100% of them must have taken the test. Also make them all be there everyday with no break. Like a normal fucking job.

What else is new or parr for the political course? Questionable, or objectionable new legislation or acts buried in hundreds pages, written and presented at last minute, so to speak, w calculated reaction that opposing party has no practical time, or energy to read, and to be pushed onto an aides interpretation. This all to be conducted outside of public scrutiny, of course? How ridiculous for this legal deceit to continue? Why can this not be broken down into common sense ev day brief conversation, like ev other sensible action of persons in life? Then a spokesperson could summarize the principle of the acts for further examination?
