Nice vid man! i have a truck and everytime i go over a bump it makes a really weird sound like 2 metals hitting each other, like something is lose, but i had a friend jump on the back while i laid under, and the sound seems to be coming from the rear shock. so is it posible for it to be sounding like 2 lose parts smacking each other? also theres a very small leak on it.

I just want to say, this was an extremely high quality lesson. I stumbled across this and wasn’t expecting to get such an in depth explanation. Thanks for making such a helpful and interesting video!
This must be THEEEE best video on this important subject matter pertaining to suspension The length that he went though to provide not only information on the subject but all the visual examples is truly above and beyond! Never seen anyone cutting open all the different type of shocks/struts/Air-shocks Taking the videos, and editing was superb Many thanks to you and this video!

Being a general mechanic is in some ways just as challenging as being a medical doctor. When a patient complains of an ailment, the doctor doesn't have to wonder what kind of kidney this particular model has or where the pancreas is located.
WOW!! Are you a professor in automobile engineering!?? You have both the knowledge and passion in this field. Absolutely amazing!!

Must be about the best info video I have seen on KZread, 10/10 for content, production, continuity.
For the last 47 years I have been repairing cars and much more. Not as a backyard butcher but employed for my skills. I've been in awe of the power of You Tube for its ability to pass on repair techniques for just about anything but there are only a few people who really know what they are talking about and you are at the top of the list sir .I hate opening a video to find they know nothing at all just want to post something. The absolute best explanation coupled with cutaways. I just wanted to let you know this was great.
This is exactly what I needed. I knew something was up with my suspension, but your illustrations and examples were extremely helpful. Great video! I’ll be making an appointment for my vehicle right away.
I love how specific and detailed you are in your knowledge of the topic. My kind of dude!
This is the most comprehensive video about shocks and struts I've seen. Amazing work!
Holy smokes! This guy is incredible I've dealt with bump steer on my car for over two years. After changing ball joints, upper and lower control arms and bushings, my suspicion was struts but LITTLE did I find here on KZread or Google that matched my problems. This was so in depth and informative that it narrowed it right down for me and confirmed my hunch. The best video about this on the internet, hands down. Thanks man! Subscribed!
You and Scotty Kilmer are the S-tier of auto repair KZread channels. Absolutely phenomenal videos through and through, thank you for the work you do!
Could have not been professionally explained/detailed any better! Amazing job!
One of the best presentation I have ever seen! Well done!
If only we could give awards for the highest quality, most on point, most helpful videos on KZread.
this is definitely one of the best videos out there because of the detail description throughout every process!!! THANK YOU SIR!!!
This was a very informative video. Explained everything very simply. Look forward to more videos by this guy!
Thank you for explaining this and how the shock absorber functions under a vehicle. And the effect the broken shocks have on the brakes.
Wow!!! Not only did he explained what and how a shock and spring work but he also demonstrated it . Hats off to this man. Definitely subscribing 👏🏻
What a great video! Love how you sliced open the dampers and showed what is inside. Also great to see the safety implications of worn out dampers.
This is Television like production. The most informative and entertaining automotive channel out there
Fantastic video. Straight to the point without all the bs of telling a story about how your shocks went out one day. Most ppl on KZread would have turned this into a 40 min video with the first 25 mins having the camera pointed at their own face. Thank you for this. Subbed
One of the best instructional videos I have ever seen. Thank you for the great explanation. I have no idea how long it took you to put this all together. Hats off!
One of the best car videos I've seen in my entire life. Good job man. Great info
Excellent video. Simple, objective, well edited and informative. The demos were just perfect. Especially the side by side. I see some cars on the road with horrible bounces, what a danger.
Sir, your videos are brilliant. As a mechanic, thank you for educating myself and everybody else who can't easily access this knowledge with such an in-depth video. You deserve more views and subs.
Never before have a seen a video this short, and with so much technical information crammed in that is so clear and easy to understand. Absolutely superb!
I like how you went a far as to remove the muffler to get a great shot of the suspension! Thank you for your time and effort you are doing a great job!
Damn, that was an EXCELLENT educational video! Very well made and thorough!!
Sir . This has to be the most detail video I've seen on KZread. Great job bro. I've subscribed after watched video
I learnt about shock struts in my aircraft engineering training and the class took one week. You've broken it down in seconds. You're amazing.
I have NEVER watched a shock video with such detail! AMAZING!!! Extremely informative and with working videos!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very impressed with your explanations. I especially like way you demonstrated the safety issues.
Video editing and quality is great, very informative and excellent explanation. I have no reason to check other videos regarding struts and shocks after seen this one! You are a superior “KZread automotive technician instructor” haha You are doing something OUTSTANDING! Keep it up brother. I am learning a lot from you!
Shocks and Struts! Informative and to the point. Amazing energy too!
I find a lot of YT videos on the how to repair or some drawn diagram of how things work but the camera mounted in action at the suspension was great. And your distinction between different types helped me actually learn. I dont say this about many ..I wish there were more like this. TY!
I love people who do things the right way like this guy!!!

Great info! Very informative! You answered a few questions I had about struts because I'm gonna be replacing all of mine real soon. But turns out its the actual shocks! Thanks pal! :)
Excellent explanation and visual understanding of how struts and shocks work on a car. Explained like an automotive engineer. Truly enjoyed the learning process that you provided here.
I went to college for automotive and this is the first time I've ever seen a single video on KZread explain absolutely everything with perfect detail so..... I'm speechless If there was an award given out for Best automotive helping video on KZread this person right here deserves it. You got a new subscriber

Your video is one of the best I've ever seen. This video is extremely informative and well made. I look forward to viewing more intelligent videos from you.
Very impressive informative video! Absolutely better than anything else I've seen on the subject. I think the big suspension component brands should have you do their videos.
thank you for showing people about struts shocks .trust this man on this he's got it right.
Wow, I really enjoyed your video! I understand the difference between shocks, struts, and springs now! Also I got to see how things work and how they look. And you explain important things! This is a very high quality video for any beginner wanting to understand suspension. Thank you very much!
thanks for the contribution.
This was the best car video ive ever seen in my life
Watched a few videos before this, switched before I got to the end of any of them. You are a genius! Not only do you know your stuff, you also know how to teach it very well. Good job dude! Keep it up!
This video was so good. Thank you so much. I’ve always known about the bounce test but to actually see what’s inside the shock and to why and how was so informative.
Excellent presentation. Great educational video Thanks
Thanks for producing such a clear video. I'll be taking mine in for inspection after you confirmed some symptoms in getting in my drive. I thought I was just being overly sensitive about the handling and ride, but now I'm pretty certain I have a suspension problem. 👍
The most comprehensive video i've seen on the matter. Great work.
I rarely comment on videos, but wow this guy makes the best videos in automotive info, couldn't be explained any better, and goes the extra mile showing how things work. Good quality video angles, amazing work keep it up man! 👍👍

A perfect video for the non DIYer who just wants to know enough not to be ripped off and understand why some maintenance items should never be out off even if they dont seem important. Thanks so much for yiur effort and time
Excellent video presentation.
The best video i never see this befor Thank you my freind
This is by far the single best DIY video I have ever seen!!! I completely understand exactly how a strut/shock works, what they are, the difference, what they do and just how good/bad off my vehicles currently are. The one thing that I wished was covered in the video, that creaking sound they strut/shock makes whenever you go over bumps and what causes that noise. But really, even with that not included, still a 5 star video. I am definitely a new sub. Good work, video is awesome!!!!!!
Thank you for explaining and showing excellent examples. Great video.

Can you do a video on how to fix spongy brakes that gets pushed to the ground
@JunkyDIYguy

Good idea for a video, i wanted to do a video covering all the brake issues, and the causes and including how the brake system work.
@andrewchristiansen8311

Bleed the fronts and rears. If the rear drum shoes push pins are out of the boots the brake cylinder will go past its seal and leak fluid/suck air. So bleed them and check the rear drum cylinder for missing parts. cause the springs will pull the drum shoe onto the cylinder so they will kind of work. But it will habitually let air in even if you bled them aa million times. Check the rears. 7 ton jaw puller to get old ones off rented of autozone.
