GONE And FORGOTTEN: The Best Player Not In The NBA! What Happened To Kemba Walker? Stunted Growth
Спорт
Young Kemba Walker was a problem. When it comes to point guards that handle the ball well, many bring up Kyrie Irving, but to me Kemba was not far behind and a lot more efficient with his moves, making them not as flashy as let’s say Kyrie Irving. But when it comes to point guards and the beauty they brought to ball handling, Kemba is top 5 in my opinion, along with Irving, Deron Williams, Baron Davis and Allen Iverson. When speaking of New York, he might just have the crown. More than handles, prime Kemba was a deadly shooter, usually in the high 30s from 3, with a career high of 39.9 in 2016-17, the year he became an all star for the first time. He was always in the tops in points in the paint and his mid range game was just as polished. A three level scorer, but what I liked most was he was a dog for sure. Killer instinct attribute bar all the way up and a badge to go with it. He wanted the challenge, and he got the best of you he let you know about it after. I always appreciated him as Michael Jordan’s first star player under his tutelage because he reminded me of Michael, just a 5’ whatever version. That was prime Kemba. Then everything change almost instantly. He currently doesn't have an NBA team, and it looks like the league has forgotten that he's gone. GONE And FORGOTTEN: The Best Player Not In The NBA! What Happened To Kemba Walker? Stunted Growth

His game-winning shot in MSG as a part of the Connecticut Huskies will forever be my favorite Kemba Walker highlight. He was definitely meant to be the next guy in the league, but seeing him not even in the league is criminal.

He just doesn’t have a role. His job was to score the ball. He cannot defend, play make or even score (lack of burst due to injury) at an elite level and at 5’11 he is almost useless

Kenna is really good for his size idk how he does it he’s shorter than Iverson he’s not 6”0 but he finds a way to score 18 plus a game that says everything about him 18 plus for his career an your under 6”0 means your really good
I remember meeting him in person his second year in the league at a charity event. Real humble dude. Hopefully he finds his way back

I dont think Kembas growth was stunted at all. Man had a career most ball players would dream of. All time points leader for the Hornets, got a max contract, multiple time all star. Id call that a success story
I was thrilled when he finally became an all star. His growth took a while but when he honed his skills he was lethal.
please never stop making these videos, you’ve taught me so much about players I’ve never heard of, and provide amazing insight and reason as to why their careers were stunted. much love

This mf be in accurate a lot though
His game was spectacularly efficient and he moved effortlessly.
As a long time UConn fan, Kemba will always have a place near and dear to my heart, and I hope a team sees the value he can bring and signs him. That said, with his superior knowledge of the game, his great attitude, and track record as an overcomer and winner, I have a feeling he would make an excellent coach one day should he decide to go in that direction.
His peak didnt last long at all, but he has my respect. His prime in Celtics/Hornets was special
One of my favorite point guards of the era on and off the floor. Carries himself like a true sportsman. He was a marvel with the ball and had all the heart in the world. Really wish he was still in the league and healthy. Would've been deadly with the Celtics if so. Does he have a HOF chance?

Kemba Walker is a small guard dependent on speed and quickness. Once he lose a step he's done! Kemba is still had a good career and had one of the best NBA careers of any NYC PG.

He needs to switch his game to CP3 type approach....Idk how he's gonna do that seeing as how CP3 himself was still athletic up until this year.
He had a better career than Shabazz Napier and they were the same player even won a natty title
I would love to see an update on Billy Preston. Had so much talent that we didn’t get to see.
whether he makes it back to the league or not, he has a lot to be proud of. He has his whole life still ahead of him
Loved having him on the Celtics. After the drama with Kyrie the year before, the team, especially the young stars Tatum and Brown, really relished Kemba's attitude. The story went that he brought the whole Celtics team to his house in NYC for Thanksgiving his first year there and it created a great vibe for the rest of the season.
You are right JC he was fun to watch a great point guard with a cool name.
He was so smooth coming outta UCONN…I once viewed him a little under CP and had the potential to be great…i think his main problem was defense I just hope he gets another chance to play a big role on a good team
This is a great video. I think all the reflections you exposed are on point and make a lot of sense. Thanks for producing it like all the others.
lots lots lots of respect to all small guards playing the game, we all know how hard to be small and being a guard, as well, all guards made the game beutifull thank you, i appreciate all what i witnessed
Shiiit I'm still on that Christmas game he had last year. Bro snapped and looked like the kemba of old. Still reppin 💯 always been a fan since the days of him and Jerome Dyson
I will always love kemba for the excitement he brought to CLT. He was my favorite nba player.
As a Celtics Fan I still love Kemba, HIs first season before the All Star Break he was the best PG in the East and made the Celtics dangerous. If he didn't get hurt that season the Celtics would have went to the finals in the Bubble and possibly won it. Kemba was legit.
Great video👍🏾
Always exciting to watch.
Damn ( haven't checked ) I thought he'd still get a shot . Crazy how 3 years can change so much
Kemba was a dawg in UCONN and I remember when he's hits the GW V. Pitt at MSG and I became a super fan of his game and the 2018-19 Season was so dope man and It's sad that every 30 teams is not pick him. SMH
I love kemba walkers game. Sadly this is a young man's league. 31 is not old. It's just sad how no teams were willing to take a chance on him after Boston. He got cut by the Pistons? Man they should of kept him as a 6 man and mentor the cubs (cade, Ivey)
Please do one on Joe Alexander. Best WVU prospect since Jerry West
GREAT player footage on this one -- you got all the Shiftiness Kemba is remembered for 🔥🔥🏀. Let's see one on MarShon Brooks; dude had some good scoring tools but why didn't he ever break through?

Was a huge fan of dude from his winning time at UConn. Very sad to see his career taking this turn, and I at least hope he makes the College Hoops HoF
Loved my guys game and his time in the league… but those last few years I feel teams made it a point to attack his size every game
Thank you for the video even if a bit sad for the man. You got a lot of clout but if you read that, see ya in Amemura and keep doing you thing.
Will never forget watching him hit that game winner over Pitt in March Madness. Can you do another on Jeremy Lamb?
Props to Kemba for forever grinding and eventually getting that max bag! Loved him on the C’s, to be sub 6 ft (we all know his listed height is a stretch even w shoes on) dominate the league and be a multi time all star is beyond rare.

I feel bad for Kemba. I hope he gets another shot in the league. He is only 31. Get this man on a roster. I have always been a fan of how shifty and bouncy he is off the dribble, and he really gets some lift off of the ground into his jumper. He can still be a scorer for a team

One of the strangest stories in the history of nba. I always liked this guy starting at UConn. He should get another chance. Really weird path.

Passing of the torch in the new era NBA . His error of ball kinda passes him. Defense while criticized makes small small guards hard to play now

From i saw how the nba did melo, a top 10 all time nba scorer, i was like yea, anybody could get it
Back in the day u could survive with having ok or average defense on a team because u would often have lockdown shooters and lockdown perimeter defense but now u need to be elite on the defensive end and can’t relay on only scoring

Tell that to trae young if anything you don't need to be good at defense at all now in the nba it's all about scoring
@chasenickles260

@@ogmusik2549 not true, trae young gets a pass because he is still young.......kemba got a pass because he was young, once his speed and athleticism started to drop, kemba became more of a liability on the court because he was undersized and couldnt play defense and him scoring the ball wasnt worth it..........one thing that trae does that kemba didnt is that trae young can pass the ball, he can get other players involved which can lead to him having a longer career even as he get older
kemba is a monster. i have a lot of respekt for the man. its sad his career wasnt very long lasting.
One of my favourite players man
Miami can use him off the bench , Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and a few more teams can use him for 15 to 20 min a game
The Lakers should sign Kemba Walker because they need a point guard!
Kemba had one of the coldest step back crossover to the pull up jumpers ever .lol can You do Cuttino Mobley and Vernon Maxwell stunted growth
the HARD cuts and splices did his knees in....bro could flat out ball

He can definitely still play
As someone who also has torn their meniscus in my right knee and the surgery leaving my nerves completely damaged and never healing properly and know my left knee is having issues. I feel people who have had the same issues.. It sucks and I believe medicine is not truly far enough to handle fixing or in my case replacing meniscus tears completely yet.. Its hard to keep having trust in doctors who keep making promises and it failing in the end and then busting your ass off in physical therapy to try to come back and not making it. Prayers out to Kemba to make it back!
Stopped watching after the top 5 ball handlers had Deron Williams and Baron Davis but not Jason Williams, who is probably the best, most creative ball handler of the last 30 years. Deron Williams had average handles at best, he was just strong for his position.

Always liked Kemba. Hoped to see him contribute on a championship team some day
As a Knicks fan it was unfortunate watching how things ended up for Kemba in NY last season. Watching him it was clear that he wasn't the same player anymore plus he didn't fit what Thibs was trying to do defensively. Jalen has just fit a lot better for the team this season.
Can you do an Anfernee Simons Growth Spurt?
PUT SOME RESPECT ON KEMBA NAME THAT MAN BEEN THE TRUTH......
He's baaaaack, baby! I hope he's been getting them shots up because Kemba has a legit shot to shine in the roll J. Kidd has planned for him.
Comparing kemba to Mike is WILD...

As a Celtics fan I was so against the signing. I was accused of being a hater and I remember having to explain to people over and over again that I actually really liked Kemba a lot, but just knew that knee was a ticking time bomb and getting rid of Horford, Morris, Rozier & Baynes to clear up the space to sign him was an objectively terrible decision.
I don't feel like that' is stunted growth. Not many people become a Multiple year All Star in the NBA.
