    They turned out brilliant!! Proper Bob Ross moment, happy accidents which turned into a very cool outcome! Even with the white version not having the back hole to use as a mug its a stunning piece of artwork.

    Love the gold!!! What an amazing idea to rescue the “damaged” pieces and turn them into something so amazing! I recently bought mother of Pearl lustre but yet to try it out! Love your channel 🤩

    Beautiful, but clearly this is a process reserved for limited use. I was taken aback by how much the gold changed the sculptures appearance. Well done. Cheers.

    It is a pricey step - I know several artist who use it regularly in their studio, but it does up the labor time and material cost 😄

    Right up until that first reveal coat, I found myself wondering how these would look with LEDs in the base and the translucent nature of the ceramic. But that gold... Wow! 👀

    You mention that you were going to “risk” glazing and firing a second time with the white. What is the risk?

  • @vantikistudio

    @vantikistudio

    It’s always a gamble to re-fire. There is a risk of cracking, or introducing new glaze issues (like pinholes or crawling)

    well, as I note in the video, one of the two special gold versions is just a display sculpture, as I forgot to cut the opening in the back. That being said, the other gold mug with the opening is definitely food safe and cocktail ready!
