When one of the trailers for God of War 4 came out and Atreus asked Kratos in front of the dragon "can you kill something that big?" I remembered the Cronos boss fight and started laughing my ass off lol

So funny story. My Dad bought me this game when I was 12, 13, and I didn't know about the Aphrodite "boss fight" (I call it that cuz Kratos was definitely murdering something). I got to that part and did the scene and of course, my Dad walks in right when Im in the middle of that. I look back, embarrassed, and he just looks at me, says, "Damn" awkwardly, and leaves. It always makes him laugh when I bring that up😂😂😂

All the hours of the gamez movies, shows, and parents always..... ALWAYS choose to walk in during that type of moment literally the worst and most awkward moment possible! 😂😂😂 Swear it could be a 100hr game that has 1 scene that shows a boob for like 3sec and THAT'S when mom or dad decides to walk in and never even actually want anything! It's like their *Parent, My-Child-Is-Into-Something-Naughty-They-Shouldn't-Be-Sense is TINGLING OFF THE CHARTS!*

I had a similar experience. I was friends with the neighbors kids, and they had God of War 3. The kid I was friends with was older than me, and for some reason was excited to show me that part. I had no idea what sex was, and it was pretty censored somehow. My innocent mind just assumed that Kratos was just flexing his muscles, and all the girls were merely impressed 😂

It shows how Hephaestus wasn't affected by any of the evils, since when killed he didn't dissolve into anything nor any visible chaos was caused by his death, dude was just a worried father.

I think it was stated that he was effected by the evils. As it states all gods got the evils, Hephaestus is the smith god. He was effected by the evil misery/sorrow and deciet.

If I remember correctly, he can’t die by taking his own life, that’s still a curse that is on him from Athena which is why he doesn’t die at the end of GoW3 It was placed on him so he wouldn’t die at the beginning of the first game when he tried to take his own life off the cliff

@@jashan8282no. Tyr said the capacity for feelings in general is in all human beings. What was in the box was the literal embodiment of those emotions and it stayed in kratos after he released a portion of it into the world the source of it was still left in him hence after he came to a realization you get an achievement called “god of hope”.

Acutally Týr said "we all have Hope fear doubt sorrow Ect. Inside all of us but we have to choose which one we let guide our actions". And kratos gave the power hope back to Greece He never said the power how was still in kratos.

Not gonna lie, the final boss fight against Zeus is one of the greatest boss fights ever! And killing him in the most brutal way possible, a way that would make Quentin Tarantino proud, by ground and pounding his face till you are blinded by blood, was disturbing yet satisfying.

The best part is the game doesn't tell you when to stop. It's putting us as the player in control that once you can let go of the hatred, you can end this fight and stop smashing circle!

Gameplay wise no, it's kinda disappointing. Story wise then yes.

Hera wasn’t just “Drunk” she was sick with the plague that was unleashed when Kratos opened Pandora’s box for the first time and the same with Helios and Hermes! 🙄😉

So much reference that we got from this game to 2018 GOW is just amazing. They really went all out with this franchise and it has been absolutely beautiful

What zeus talks about with "the other one" is Kratos brother which is in the game Ghost of sparta, which takes place between God of war 1 and god of war 2. Where zeus orders and sent Ares and Athena to kidnap Kratos brother Deimos when they were young. When they kidnapped Deimos, Zeus sent Deimos to imprisonment and torture by the god Thanathos. In ghost of sparta Kratos goes through out the whole game trying to save his brother.

"Raising Kratos" is such a good documentary for you guys to react to!! :)

We're starting off strong with this part 😂 GOW3 is a wild game

About the Aphrodite section, sections like this happen in every game in the Greek era, Kratos visits a brothel of some kind, plays a sex mini-game, and gets bonus orbs, in this game you actually see women topless while the QTE's happen, (also in the PSP/PS4 port titles too, like Ghost of Sparta), because you usually see the bedside counter and sometime, like a candle being moved while the QTE's pop up. This is only one that's of the few that's actually apart of the story... Which you can, like all of the sex mini games, return to, and do it for as much as you want. Also about that, Aphrodite is one of the few Gods still alive after Kratos's path of destruction... She got destroyed another way lol Plus, I think there's a censored version where her outfit isn't torn up, but what's the fun in that lol

We can for sure say that 90% of the people choose YES for the wild Boss fight with Aphrodite😂

The video is also in chronological order from God of War: Ascension to God of War 2018. It is confusing if you just watch the cutscenes from a non-gamer's perspective and that is why it is better to watch a recap video that explains it well.

People forget that Hera was the goddess of marriage and the hearth, the fact that her husband constantly betrayed her trust like that with never ending infidelities really went against her very nature 😮

As much as I love the new GOW games, the scale and sheer amount of ambition put into this game was incredible and behind Ragnarok, this is probably my second favorite in the entire series. It's such a complete game with many incredible boss battles and a great ending to that side of Kratos

Pandora is older than Kratos is, she's just stuck looking like she does because she's an artificial creation that gained sentience. In the official novelisation of the first game, it was revealed that Athena did actually want to relieve Kratos of his memories and nightmares, but Zeus wouldn't allow it, and she briefly argued with him to let her do it, but he put his foot down as both her father and the king of the gods. Because there's a price to pay for killing family, and Zeus can't show Kratos free of the price. It's only after fear infected him that he became obsessed with killing Kratos

I wonder what would have happened if Kratos had stopped attacking Zeus when he expelled the evils that contaminated him from Pandora's Box. After all, it was true that Zeus loved his son Kratos but he feared the prophecy just as Kronos did.

Now that you've seen the story of old games after Finishing Ragnarok make sure to watch the Valhalla dlc cutscenes too. Btw at 1:07:17 this is the moment that Atreus saw in Helheim.

There's a comic book detailing the events of what happened after GoW3 where he tries to disappear and retire and so he travels east into Egypt and gets into conflicts with the Egyptians gods there then later travels north into Nordic lands in what we now know of in GoW4

The sex mini games are in all of the old style GOWs except for GOW Ascension.

This is my favorite God Of War game, because it is so epic. When i first played it, I played it with my mouth open, because this was the best looking game at the time. I get why people love the 4th game, but the 3rd is just epic. The scale of the fights is crazy. And man, the ending. Kratos stabs himself and after the credits he’s no longer there. What a teaser.

It's never touched on how, exactly, Kratos survived being impaled by a literal god-killing sword. Some believe that he literally cannot die so long as Hope exists due to his actions here, some think Athena forced him to live just to spite him, some just think he's still just too angry to die. It could be one of those, it could be a combination, it could be all three, or it could be none. It's never revealed. But that aside, that was more-or-less the entirety of Kratos' story pre-Norway. There's a few things here and there, a couple adventures relegated to un-numbered entries like _God of War: Ascension_ or handheld (PSP and PS Vita) games like _God of War: Chains of Olympus_ and _Ghost of Sparta,_ but those are mostly just there to give further context to the events of the main trilogy.

If I recall correctly they released a comic just before God of War 4 that fills in some of what happened between 3 and 4

"You should have chosen the other one" They are referring to Deimos, Kratos' brother. The prophecy said that a marked warrior will be olympus' doom. Deimos also had tattoos like Kratos, so he was taken by Athena on Zeus'command when both the brothers were kids. Only later they realised they took the wrong brother. For this story you'd have to play the PSP god of war games.

I think some of the time between God of War 3 and 4 is explained in a comic. He didn't die he crawled off into the sea and traveled to another land since there was nothing left for him in the Greek lands. I think he passed through the area with the Egyptian Gods and then eventually settled in the land of the Norse Gods.

There is a comic "the fallen god" that covers Egypt, where kratos simply travels via a boat to egypt BEFORE Scandanavia

Kratos didnt give it to the people. He tried to kill himself and that just happened, lol

It's a very nice but often missed detail when he falls from the cliff in the mind world in the last scene. In the first game when it actually happened he said "in the end there is no hope". This time however he stops at "there is...", because this time there was hope indeed, quote literally. Also the last line from Athena saying humans wouldn't know what to do with hope.

Reading the credits, Terrence Carson (Living Single, Final Destination) voiced Kratos, Corey Burton did Zeus, Debi Derryberry (may have been about 50 at the time of the game) voiced Calliope, Adrienne Barbeau voiced Hera, April Stewart voiced Aphrodite, Fred Tatasciore voiced Ares/Barbarian King/Typhon. a badass named Rip Torn voiced Hephaestus, and Clancy Brown did Hades.
