Same here. Took me MUUUUUCH longer to play GoW3 firsthand via my PS4, had to watch a walkthrough during the initial release way back, but MAN, I still distinctly recall wanting so desperately to see what happened next after this AMZING cliffhanger.

I remember the first time I played GoW 2 back in 2009, just before GoW 3's release. No KZread videos to spoil me back then. Just me playing the game until I finished the story. Best cliffhanger in video game history. Even now, it brings me goosebumbs.

my advice if there is an upcoming video game that you like just stay away from youtube cause even a thumbnail alone might be a spoiler i played the last 2 games on ps4 spoiler free and loved the surprises in them

People dont realize that was Olympia (Zeus' city) burning at the end. That was Kratos payback for Zeus destroying Sparta

​@altair227 as a greek with some italian lineage, you can imagine the sheer love i have for the og trilogy, I've played them all since their releases. Nowadays, the newer gamers only play the newer games and they missing out a lot of the old ones, though because of woke propaganda and less iq which people hold nowadays i don't think they will enjoy these masterpieces like we have back in the day.

moment of silence for people who waited and unfortunately passed away by an accident or anything else, before GoW 3 came out

It's amazing at how they made the most epic cliffhanger in gaming history in GoW2 and went on to create the most epic beginning in gaming history in GoW3

Honestly, I think Kratos’ delivery of “ZEUS! Your son has returned! I bring the destruction on Olympus!” Is much better in GoW 2 than in 3.

Because one is for the end of a game and the other one is for the start of the destruction. One of the reasons both lines in both games sounds different. Very clever by the developer and W for TC Carson. Dude is goated ❤

Cory directed the 2 best GoW games imo. With 2 being my absolute favorite.

@@zashu4227 i love gow 2. But i like gow 3 a bit more. Soundtrack both are fanstastic, but 3 doesnt have recycled final boss music and that stuff. And also has the best bosses in the series in my opinion. Poseidon, hades, hercules, cronos, zeus. They are fantastic

i clearly remember playing GOW 2 in 2008 for the first time, i played it on Titan mode coz i already know the movesets in the first game and it took me 3 weeks to beat it! this is exactly my reaction to the cliffhanger.

Eu ganhei meu PS2 em 2007, no mesmo ano de lançamento deste game e veio junto, eu zerei e desde então é o meu jogo preferido da minha vida, eu fiquei na expectativa de jogar o 3. Em 2011 ganhei um PS3, e finalmente pude jogar o GoW3. God2 e 3 são sem dúvidas os jogos da minha vida, lembro quando joguei o 2 pela primeira vez e zerei e esse final extremamente empolgante e que me deixou ansioso para jogar o próximo. E lembro exatamente do dia que meu pai chegou com a caixa do PlayStation 3 em casa junto com o God of War 3, consigo lembrar até mesmo do cheiro e do aroma do console e do controle novos, e a primeira vez que coloquei o GoW3 para jogar iniciando exatamente de onde terminou o 2, vendo todos aqueles gráficos insanos eu e meu pai ficamos impressionados, foi inesquecível 🥹❤️

GoW2 is underrated imo while the sequels are overrated, but for the best reasons since God Of War is one of the best serial games there is in history! And the fact GoW3 starts with Kratos arrived to Olympus castle, makes this an EPIC cliffhanger

As much as I liked Ragnarok, that game and the 2018 one just didn't quite feel the same without all the ruthless brutalities Kratos has pulled off in the past. Hence why my heart will always belong with the Greek games, and 3 is my #1 favorite in the series to this day.

I do have a bias towards the new games as, while I’ve played the original 3, that wasn’t until I played 2018 and Ragnarök, so I don’t have the nostalgia factor of the original 3. I loved the original 3 for the violence and epic-ness of it, but I felt like Kratos needed to adapt and change, and what they did with his story in the new games I like more than the young and vengeful Kratos. I like how he struggles with his rage because of Atreus, and in Ragnarök he has a great line where he says, “I do not fear our child, Faye. I fear for him.” I love that line so much. I don’t really believe the new games are overrated, but I do believe the original trilogy is underrated and overshadowed by the newer games. I just personally think that the story and character development is better in the new games. I love to see that older fans still love the originals though. More power to you! Hope you appreciate my thoughts!

​@@mattstewart7215 You do make excellent points. It does feel nice to see Kratos becoming a better person, and there were certain moments I did enjoy, like the first Thor fight. The fact that Thor was holding back and wanting to see Kratos' true potential from his past made me like him as a character. I won't go over too much on other moments just incase there are viewers who haven't completed Ragnarok yet. You are correct with the whole 'new games overshadowing the original trilogy' statement, that was the term I was looking for, and it's another reason why I'm sticking with the classics for the rest of my life.

Who did notice that amazing background scene ? When in the flash back Zeus struck Atlas with Lightning then Hades takes His Soul the same thing happening again when kratos talks to Gaia but it is in the background my God soo *EPIC*

Single-handedly the best ending to all the cutscenes of GOW, with what is probably the best soundtrack to accompany it! So glad I managed to play this on the PS2 when I was younger. Honestly, after seeing the end for the first time, I was so eager for the next game!

If I may suggest something, have you considered combining each person's clip into one big reaction video? Say, place the main cutscene in the center but put everyone's faces around it. I imagine that it's more time-consuming and I understand if you wouldn't want to do it, but I thought I could ask because I personally like it.

The most epic ending ever

I didn't get to play God of War 3 when it came out but i played God of War 2 in 2007 when it came out. It was amazing and this Cliffhanger was amazing as well

Seriously man, this gave chills for all gamers like me, and this game is the one of the reason i addicted to PS2. Though i cant afford to buy PS2 i played in rental centers with friends and enjoyed lot. Also TC Carlson deserves special praise for his energy giving life to KRATOS character.

It’s good to see people appreciating the old gems

I was lucky, and fucking hyped, to see and play this game before GoW 3. You will not believe how many hours I sunk into reading Greek mythology just to get an idea of what happened and what was about to happen.

I immediately bought God of War III on PS3 after finishing II and seeing this (I was playing GOW 2 on PS2 by the way)

GOW 2 stands amongst the best and the most epic in the GOW series till date

Funny Kratos never mention Gaia who in a way was an ally to him. Though yes she betray him but not to the death.

I love the norse saga, i do, but the greek saga is just legendary, i pity the people who haven't played these masterpieces since their releases, especially because im Greek with Italian lineage these games hit me in the feels even more because i understand all the mythology that the greek saga carries, plus the soundtracks of these games either we like it or not are definitely superior to the norse saga and maybe even the egyptian saga when it gets released, I'm sorry but its the truth, what i like with the Norse saga though is that Kratos finally found peace and a new family and that makes me a happy being.

At least CohhCarnage, GoldGlove, and Aimin played the originals first. They were likely expecting more heroic gameplay. I just love their expressions when they thought Kratos would save a person from his burning home before bashing his head in from God of War 3.

To be honest i played and enjoyed gow3 but to me gow2018 really is a step forward. The way gow2018 made me wonder is superior to any game i have ever played

Kratos should've traveled back in time where his wife and daughter is still alive. He could have saved them

Come on bro . Not every gamer has chance to play this in their childhood . I mean they're creators and probably a teen in that era(2007) . I was 5 when i played GOW 1 and 2 . But didn't have a chance to play GOW3 until now (now I'm 22) . I just got a laptop that supports a game like GTA V or AC Valhalla and even starfield . So i could finally try this game on ps3 emulator which requires a powerful pc or laptop 😂
