I like the fact that these are 5 minute videos that are concise and to the point. Similar videos drone on just because they have a following - kinda like a soap opera.

@@morgancalvi6675 It is the soap opera pattern - boring introductions to make a point and making a big deal about accomplishments while at times sexual inuendo in conversation or graphic poses.
Your animals are so well mannered. I need to have my goats watch & learn. Lol

Thank you for the kind words.
I make mine out of plywood. One sheet ripped into four 12 inch wide strips. Cut notches into 2x8 boards cut two feet long and screw the plywood down into the V in the 2x8 "feet". These troughs can be moved paddock to paddock. They last for years.

Love your work .. in the future inside the description link, please provide building material list. Would love to make DIY and apply here on our home stead. We have 3 lady goats 🐐 and will love to alternate feeding ideas and improve as weather conditions allow. Appreciate you sharing sir.
Got to make me a lay-down table like yours!
Can you please do a tutorial on the build for the last one you showed feeding the goats. Thanks

I am impressed with how you are using PVC pipes for your troughs, can you share how you cut the PVC pipes longways? Did you use a table saw? if so what type of blade did you use? also how did you attach the PVC pipes to the Wooden legs/posts? and are the post buried to stabilize them? Thank you
Great Idea's !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have goats that have horns and one doe is aggressive when she is fed grain so I have to lock up the other two does so they can eat in peace. The baby goats are always jumping into feeders and making them dirty with their hooves then the does won't eat until you clean it out. These work for you and your sheep though.
thanks..

Hey quick question?; On your trough you built out side pen . So don't have to go in to feed . Do you connect trough to panel too. I'm feeding goats . They are alittle rough at feeding time . Trying to see how you brace your pvc pipe to the cow panel
@rollingofarm

Yes. I drilled a few small holes and used wire to fasten to cattle panels.
Nice
Da man👍
It’d be great to have your designs for these feeders.

So you use feed pellets? We use mixed grain. Pellets, or CUBE as it is called here, is expensive. Do you think pellets fatten animals faster than mixed grain?
@rollingofarm

I would think grain would fatten them faster than processed pellets, but I really don’t know.
What modifications would you use for horned sheep?

Hi on the 3rd feeder, that is the spacing between the board that the goats push their head thru 8 to 9 or 10 to 12"? thanks.

thank you very much.
I use some of option 1 and mostly the last option, but even that has it's drawbacks as the babies within 2-3 weeks will be up in the trough pooping and fouling. No really ideal system.
Could you give the measurements of the goat feeder, in the barn, at about 4 minutes? Thumbs up!

Also, I liked what I saw with your hay feeder. Could you do a video on a hay feeder for horned goats.
Hey my name is Corey I’m in southern middle Tennessee about a hour north of Chattanooga we have a small home stead about 18 nannies with one billy looking for a new billy we have kikos

I just have commercial bucks (nothing registered). At the moment I just have Boer bucks but I do have Kiko available pretty often.
👍
I'm new farmer. So how much do you feed them a day. My sheep seem to eat alot and won't shut up when they finish their food. I feed alfalfa right now in the winter

Great question! I'll try to do a video on that. Thanks for asking. Short answer is that it will depend on their nutritional requirements (bred, nursing, climate, etc.). 0.5-1 lb of feed a day is usually enough, but there are lots of factors to consider.

Katahdin and yes they are nursing. They love to eat lots

Where did you get your big drums for storing your feed?

They are used olive barrels. Check with local farm stores.
How do u deal w goat food aggressiveness
@rollingofarm
Жыл бұрын
That is the nature of goats. You can try to provide enough space that the bullied can eat away from the bullies, but that doesn’t always work either.
Don’t know how to get ahold of you. In Athens, AL and have goats 🐐
