    I like the fact that these are 5 minute videos that are concise and to the point. Similar videos drone on just because they have a following - kinda like a soap opera.

    @@morgancalvi6675 It is the soap opera pattern - boring introductions to make a point and making a big deal about accomplishments while at times sexual inuendo in conversation or graphic poses.

    I make mine out of plywood. One sheet ripped into four 12 inch wide strips. Cut notches into 2x8 boards cut two feet long and screw the plywood down into the V in the 2x8 "feet". These troughs can be moved paddock to paddock. They last for years.

    I am impressed with how you are using PVC pipes for your troughs, can you share how you cut the PVC pipes longways? Did you use a table saw? if so what type of blade did you use? also how did you attach the PVC pipes to the Wooden legs/posts? and are the post buried to stabilize them? Thank you

    I have goats that have horns and one doe is aggressive when she is fed grain so I have to lock up the other two does so they can eat in peace. The baby goats are always jumping into feeders and making them dirty with their hooves then the does won't eat until you clean it out. These work for you and your sheep though.

    Hey quick question?; On your trough you built out side pen . So don't have to go in to feed . Do you connect trough to panel too. I'm feeding goats . They are alittle rough at feeding time . Trying to see how you brace your pvc pipe to the cow panel

  • @rollingofarm

    @rollingofarm

    10 ай бұрын

    Yes. I drilled a few small holes and used wire to fasten to cattle panels.

    So you use feed pellets? We use mixed grain. Pellets, or CUBE as it is called here, is expensive. Do you think pellets fatten animals faster than mixed grain?

  • @rollingofarm

    @rollingofarm

    7 ай бұрын

    I would think grain would fatten them faster than processed pellets, but I really don’t know.

    I use some of option 1 and mostly the last option, but even that has it's drawbacks as the babies within 2-3 weeks will be up in the trough pooping and fouling. No really ideal system.

    I'm new farmer. So how much do you feed them a day. My sheep seem to eat alot and won't shut up when they finish their food. I feed alfalfa right now in the winter

  • @rollingofarm

    @rollingofarm

    2 жыл бұрын

    Great question! I'll try to do a video on that. Thanks for asking. Short answer is that it will depend on their nutritional requirements (bred, nursing, climate, etc.). 0.5-1 lb of feed a day is usually enough, but there are lots of factors to consider.

    That is the nature of goats. You can try to provide enough space that the bullied can eat away from the bullies, but that doesn’t always work either.
