On Instagram the sculptor for the outcast models said they have the same head fittings as the Orlock gang and same arm fittings as the Genestealer Cult models.

I had been avoiding the new Necromunda since it came out... but this book and the rumors around it broke me. I can't wait to play MY gang the way I want to play it, and go nuts with third party minis and conversions. Absolutely class act book.

Imagine the gang led by Bigby Crumb and the rest of the gang is the staff of his little underhive restaurant.

I would have thought Venators (Book of Peril) would work better; they all have the option of being T4 with 3" movement from the start. Also, the outcast gang seems to be much more in the “hero hammer” vein; it’s all about the leader, which doesn’t seem very Squat-like tbh.

Apparently a leak that predicted the kill team chalnath box and all of the black Templar units predicted squats are coming back. They didn’t say to what degree tho

@@jasons.2807 The leak, which a bunch of people I know have been jokingly calling THE PROPHECY still seems somewhat correct, with the current rumor engine reveals clearly matching the rumored Aeldari part revamp, ala the Sisters Wave 1. Timeline may be a bit skewed but going off other rumors, sometime after Tau we'll see CSM and eldar, a new Chaos Knight variant, and then in no particular order or lots of detail daemons, a new AM tank, and then World Eaters and Squats in some capacity.

I know there's some VERY accurate rumors stating new cultists are coming in the next year or so, but I won't be surprised if I pick up some of these outcasts to supplement my cultists anyway, especially for Necromunda. Doubt even with a rework the 40k cultists would get all those necromunda options, and Outcasts plus kitbashing with GSC should cover the rest.

I'm curious to see how Outcast gangs are differentiated from Venator gangs. It feels like there's a lot of overlap here.

Honestly by what I know of Venators, the diff is Outcasts can use Draematis Personae for your leaders and champions and Venators got the better base statblock via the bounty hunters instead of basically Hive Scum.

Regular Joes and numbers vs ultra expensive elites with few models. Regular gang structure and territory holding vs only working for money.

More necromunda battles please

This book of all of them is the best book for Necromunda, yet.

I think Bella Donna and Mad Donna are two different characters entirely, Belladonnas story is nothing like Mad Donna's (D'onne Ulanti) story, the latter has a novel. The latter was also riff visually on Madonna during her pointy bra period, but the characters backstory was not a parody or had anything to do with the singer.

Yeah, Belladonna is her actual name and she’s on a quest for vengeance, trying to find out who bombed her wedding (she actually _liked_ her husband-to-be, you see, despite it being a political marriage) so she can axe them nicely to never do that again. D’onne Ulanti (“mad Donna”) was the “princess locked in a tower” that went mad and decided life in the Underhive where no-one minded too much if she hacked people to death for looking at her funny was much more her speed and is technically on the run.

Hey Ash, as a designer and consumer of so many games and games systems what made games like necromunda 2003/2017, confrontation, mordheim, etc. so memorable? Was it the intricacies of character creation and personalisation, in-game actions and items, or the post-game activities, skills growth that made them so memorable? Or is it the lore, nostaligia, waac?

I've always thought what made the 40k universe in general so great is a combination of lore and customization. The lore is deep and rich but has holes big enough to fit literal planets in.

It was more personal in both gameplay, and in your figures. Skirmish games are tighter, with less room for throwing away talent. Most of your bullet sponges have a roll, your characters are YOURS, and you have the freedom in your teams/ gangs/ crews. It has no WAAC capabilities because everyone in the group has the same chance. (Of course with Nu-Necromunda, it's a little different, and they have lost a bit in the personality. but they make up for it in choice. (Problem you are seeing is a lot of different non40K centric weapons. That can become an issue if you have anyone in your group who is a TFG.))

Yup. I picked up a Kal Jericho a few weeks ago in preparation for this book.

It shares a lot with all the previous books and book of perils it seems. Good resoirce still.

If I'm correct the blackstone fortress traitor commisar got a datasheet for necromunda.... does that mean I can elevate him to a leader of a gang? Because if so i know what I'm making Edit: I can't seem to find any trace of necromunda rules for the traitor commisar. Anyone know where to look? Or am I just experiencing the Mandela effect?

I like this book. I just wish Necromunda has a comprehensible campaign system. I can’t see why you would buy a water guild team when you an get one for free via an alliance. You could build this gang with a leader and 8 gangers with hand flamers.

The big thing with the guilds is the whole Test the Alliance thing, where a dice roll can determine whether you get them or lose all your benifits on basically a coinflip. I expect if you build a Guilder focused Outcast (or one based off the other ally factions) you can get bonuses to avoid testing the alliance to your faction of origin.

I suspect it’s more likely a supply chain issue. I was surprised that this release has barely been promoted online by GW, the only recent mention was last Sunday’s weekly previews on the community page.
