you’re flying over white-capped mountains in a blizzard, suddenly there’s a loud bang and the pilot says you’re going down. you awaken, buckled to your seat in a mangled section of fuselage. you look for any sign of life, but none, nothing. you call out in hope but the only sound is the howling wind. suddenly you notice a lone dark-haired man holding a hunting rifle standing and watching you in silence. ‘ya ever eat weasel before boy’?

I have always been aware of the show, but never watched it and never really knew what it was about...but all I can say is...the guy is a better man than me....I'm quite fascinated with the desire to just "be out there", but don't think I would ever have the "guts" to actually try it for even a day...and then you realize from the Garden of Eden until like 1901 this is how everyone had to survive...and the utter nonchalance in the way he talks about this life is just freaking amazing to me...like, "Yeah I was stalked by a pack of 20 timberwolves this one time...and uh...they were all just kinda watching me and salivating from about 50 yards away from my cabin, so I had to shoot like 3 of them otherwise they'd just think I'm an easy meal...what can I say it worked out." Wow
