My husband, Carl Jackson, arranged this song, produced the Adios album and asked Willie to accompany Glen...I think that it is just a brilliantly cool song...AND, my hubbs is playing the guitar on this....

I agree that this is a great version but the best version...in my opinion... is Willie singing this song on the Ralph Emory show back in 1997. Google it... it's on youtube. Awesome can't even come close... it's pure genius.

Glen Campbell, well, he may not have been the best, but I can't name anyone better at everything he did so darn well. He even played the bag pipes well, and that is hard to do. They were a part of his singing Amazing Grace at or near the end of his concerts. I am loosing to Agent Orange that caused my Pulmonary Fibrosis. But one of the many great things about dying a Christian is seeing those going ahead of me. I will see my family as well as my wife's and so many people that were part of my life and I will see Billy Graham and Glen Campbell! It was such a victory for the Lord when Glen was free of the drugs and drink he had gotten into.

When it came out, I was a college student, full of energy. I had just entered 20 and there were so many dreams and aspirations. Now I'm 26, in that span of time, I have gone through so many trials and tribulations, had new experiences, there's been a lot of ups and downs in life but I really am hoping for the best. Been listening to Glenn Campbell for the last 12 years, the only thing that has remained constant in my life. I do miss being young and carefree.

Thank you! I was so thrilled and grateful to see him in 2011 in Los Angeles. He was in good form, but needed help from his daughter to keep on track. Glen Campbell, ace guitarist and singer; we won't see his like again.

Glen sounds very good ,it's amazing. He was so close to me in song all through my teens, I wanted so much to write him but felt there were probably too many walls,I'm sure Glen had millions of fans and that one more letter would probably just get lost in the shuffle & a reply from one of his secretary's would just be a letdown, so all I can do is wish him all the best always and forever ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

You should have written him. He lived near us and was very accessible, very down to earth. He would have been thrilled! Never lost his small town roots and poor-folks gratitude.

I have never heard a bad version of this Willie Nelson classic (his #1 copyright) but my favorite is the Narvel Felts version. Sure gonna miss Glen when that time comes---as a fellow Arkansan he has done us proud.

I feel so bad now that a long time ago when Glen was on TV that all I saw was his shiny hair and did not appreciate what an amazing talent he was. Ain't it funny how time slips away and you can't get it back to make a do-over. We have to make do with recorded memories. Sigh!

Agreed. But Elvis did it to. You can't touch it. Pure perfection. Check it out That's why they called him the King. Wasn't because of all golden hits that we know of. Its because he could put is voice any place he wanted it to go and nail the song so well so that really one else could come close to bringing it home the way he did. Listen to his early 60's songs his range in his voice was where ever he wanted it to go.. I love Glen Campbell pure talent. and Willie Nelson Just saying.
