@@WillowTalksBooks I thought Cliff kind of suited him, and was apt given his fate. Even if we don't agree on that, I'm glad to hear your comments! They're about the nicest I've ever received about a translation. I'll try to live up to them.
First, I always love how you express yourself with clothes and jewelry! Your top today is just a joy. ❤ For the billionth time you’ve convinced me that I immediately NEED a book that won’t be available here for months. This sounds heartbreaking, but just so well done, and I can’t wait. As someone with a significant amount of family trauma I’m prepared to be triggered, but I think sometimes you need to get through triggers in order to find a way to heal.

I felt exactly the same way. Hugely triggering but also incredibly empathetic and worth every moment :)

@@WillowTalksBooks ooo, even better, more fabric, more dinos ❤️
You look so pretty and yay you're wearing the cute dinosaur dress. 🦖 This is going on my ever-growing Blackell's wishlist. I adore that store so much ever since I found and ordered an affordable copy of Tell Me I'm Worthless there. Um, anyway this book is definitely going to be triggering for me. I'm also (as far as I'm aware) the only queer person in my family. But I can't afford to travel so I find escape through books and daydreams. Also this might sound bad, but I don't really like interacting with most of my extended family and make zero effort to keep in touch with them. The only dna family I willingly interact with in-person is my mom. Actually, I don't have much in-person interaction in general. Sometimes I feel like I'm a ghost. 😅 Oh hey, have you read Ghost Forest, by Pik-Shuen Fung? That is one of my favorite family novels I've read this year. If you haven't read it then you really should!😃

@Rachel Ghost Forest sounds like a book for me to check out, just looked it up. Thanks for mentioning it in your comment. I get where your coming from about feeling like a ghost sometimes, me too (but more from a Buddhist prospective for me). Having read some of your comments on Willows vids recently, I just want to say you sound a nice person and I like many of the views you’ve expressed.

Oh that’s a great sign!
First time commenting here, I had to do it because this is one of my favorite books ever. I read the original (mandiran) version, and the thing I love the most (besides the truly haunting story), is the amazing writing style. It feels like every word is chosen with such care and precision, it really elevated the whole thing to another level. So I'm quite curious to see if the translated version would give me similar feeling (also to see the naming issue you mentioned). Anyway, I'm so glad more people are gonna read this novel. And thank you for such a lovely book review video.
Arghhh! I hope ghost town will be available in my country soon! I'm compelled to get a copy ASAP, the cover looks beautiful!!! At times I get mad at you for introducing me to books that are hard to get😭😭 But obviously I can't be mad for long!! Amazing review as always and looking lovely ♥️

We almost never see literary fiction books about people who work in stem fields going through these complex, and queer, situations. Until I write my own I'm probably going to feel underrepresented hahaha. Great review, I loved your dark chocolate metaphor
