Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage | Book Summary and Review
Today I am talking about the book Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage, which was written by Alfred Lansing. The book recounts the story of Ernest Shackelton’s disastrous Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. This was one of the most gripping books I’ve ever read. For nearly two years, Shackleton’s crew survived in one of Earth’s harshest areas - The Antarctic Circle. In the video, I give an overview of Shackleton’s voyage. This book will leave you wanting to learn more about Shackleton and the other Antarctica exploration voyages. I gave the book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.

This book was a part of my Leadership Masters class back in the 90's. It really helped in my role in Higher Ed, the leadership qualities of this man was exemplary.

In the comments, can you please explain what the setting this book takes place with specific information?

Most of the story takes place in the Weddle sea, which is near Antarctica. It also takes place on some of the islands near Antarctica, such as Elephant Island and South Georgia Island.
Would this be a good book for a 10 year old boy who loves reading?

Yeah I think so! It's a great story. I could see it being maybe a little suspenseful or frightful for a kid. There is a lot of suspense about whether the crew will make it or not. But other than that I think it would be a great book!

@@samuelpedro4972 Thank you! I don’t believe my grandson would be frightened at all. He’s pretty tuff and has been hunting and shooting at a young age and loves all things camping. We watch a lot of people who hunt and live in the wilderness. I was concerned if there’s bad language in it or anything sexual?
only 10% of that book is true.
