Getting Started with Asiatic Archery Part 2

Ever wanted to try Asiatic Archery, where you shoot a traditional recurve type bow using a thumb draw and release?
The first thing that most people do is go out and purchase a bow. But which one, for which style of Asiatic archery? There are different styles of Asiatic archery you ask? I'll help you navigate through the mass of information in a friendly and cordial manner, throwing in a bit of historical perspective along the way.

Oops: I said the bow case was made of wood, actually they were made from hard or soft leather with horn or perhaps bone reinforcement plates.
Oops 2: I said the F-Value was calculated by dividing the strung length by the length nock to nock, when it is actually the draw length divided by the length nock to nock. The calculations were correct I just misspoke how to calculate the value. Doh! Performance pressure...

Great video! I hope your channel gets some more notice you're very charismatic. One thing though, I've found that hitting the fletching on the top of the hand is more a fault of the archer rather than the feather, if you place the arrow slightly above the horizontal nocking point it won't hit your hand. I've never needed a glove on my left hand after I learned about that.

Feather burn on the bow hand is very often the result of a nocking point not placed high enough for thumb archery. I always shoot without a glove. Me and most of my students don't use armguards for thumb archery. If the string hits the arm, then there is something wrong with the way of gripping the bow and people will learn fast....
