Grant's face at the end hearing those great words from his wife i promise you is worth way more to him than anything. He really felt that one, don't think us guys don't forget such great words. It truly is the little things.

Absolutely! If a man knows you love and respect him, he will do anything for you. Today would have been my 32nd wedding anniversary. She passed in 2004 at the age of 39, but she was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. I am blessed.

About 45 years ago I saw an elderly couple (70's?) sitting on a park bench by the river chatting and giggling like teenagers on a second date. When I saw that I immediately thought 'I want that!' You two have the potential to have that. Best wishes!
In my opinion, you all make the best content on KZread. It’s such a joy to watch married people be kind, supportive and respectful of each other, again, great content
Another trick to keep the bolts in order is to trace the new water pump onto a piece of cardboard and then poke the bolts through in the spot they came from as you take them out.

Hello New here I love Laura soo much ❤
Love it & the little smile on Grant's face, after you said it's one of the biggest joys of your life farming with him, was priceless.
Running a Geo Tracker for actual work. You two have some impeccable taste. My respect for you two just blew through the sky. Not that I didn't have a ton of respect for you two already. Legends.
My husband and I worked together for years as electricians. I've heard that "I could never work with my spouse " comment before many times. It takes patience, definitely a sense of humor and knowing when to leave work problems at work! Time away from each other is a must. Have to know which stresses are worth it and which to walk away from.
Dont think ive ever seen 2 people who work together and live together so chilled, you both really have found your soul mates
Best thing to do when trying to keep track were the bolts go is to have a piece of cardboard draw something resembling the water pump and push the bolts through the cardboard where they would be on the pump. It also helps from losing the bolts.
It’s so funny listening to you talk about learning to drive a stick on a Geo Tracker 😂 When I was a kid on the ranch we didn’t have anything that was an automatic. We didn’t know any better. Never forget when my grandad brought home his new pickup with an automatic in it. Couldn’t help but stomp the floor where the clutch should have been. 😂
@randyc5650

I learned on a 56 Ford with 2 vise grips on the shift studs on the transmission and a piece of rope through the firewall for a gas pedal. The first automatic I drove after having my own cars was my dad's '66 Olds Dynamic 88. I came down a bridge and was making a right turn when I stomped the floor with my left foot and threw the shift into park. There was a horrendous noise before the car came to a sudden stop. I realized what was happening as I was doing it but too late. I was doing mechanic work by then and was really embarrassed but I told my dad and friends anyway. It drove like a champ after that.
Laura....I agree...it is wonderful to work with your spouse! I do it too!! Thanks for sharing!😊
Haha that last overlooked bolt will get you every time. You two share a special bond and deep lover for each other that is so very refreshing and good to see. You are a very special couple!!
Grant. you showed us again that being a farmer is like being a jack of all trades. You're a good man Charlie Brown. You two make a good team who work until the daylight is gone. That is some tall corn, and I'm glad that pepper has made herself feel right at home. Take care.

That shout out at the end was really sweet. I think Grant really appreciated too. Love your channel! Very informative to us here in the Northeast that have never been on a farm. Thank you. 😊
Laura, I can see you both work well together by the smile you give Grant, and us. Laura it seems your voice sounds a bit croaky, I hope you feel okay. Your corn looks the best I have ever seen it, you should be having a good crop this year. Love to you both from Mike. ❤
Been fighting high blood pressure and going through changing my medications for it. It's been crazy high so, I watched the start of this video and bam! 127 over 83. Laura Farms has medicinal qualities. Thanks Dr Laura!
You can tell this guys ain't typical mechanic the way he handle the tools & the entire equipment ....Hes trying 😂😂
Love the video. Wife and I have been married 23 years. Just yesterday we were doing chores mucking out our chicken house and duck run. Its a dirty job, but working together we got it done pretty fast. I've known her 42 years, but the last 23 have been wonderful.
After reading all the doom and gloom headlines, it's nice to come here and see ag is alive and well. Love old engines too haha.
Greasy fingers with classy nail polish. What an elegant lady!
You two are so enjoyable to watch together, even replacing a worn out water pump on an old (Ford?) petrol V8! - So much easier without a car body to have to work around! Tuff painted nails there, girl! Love your work, joy and enthusiasm, Laura and Grant. 😀❤🌽🌽🌽🚜🚙🔧
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. First of all. Laura you talked about working with your husband. You two are the greatest people. You both make it work. My compliments to both of you for your working relationship. It is the greatest!!!!!!! Pleasure to watch you work. Now back to farming. You did great getting the water pump changed and the irrigation system back on line. You both took it a step at a time and that works. Glad you got it going ok. Your corn crop looks wonderful. The ears are filling out great. You should have a great crop. Nice going Laura and Grant. Thanks for everything. Once again, lots of respect for both of you working together. Great!!!!! The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
It's always impressive to see you both solve whatever problem the farm throws your way. Nice work!
Before you said what you did at the end, I was already thinking how lucky you guys are to be able to work together so well. You are really lucky. Every man needs a Laura! X

Hello New here I love Laura soo much
My wife and I work full-time together too. LOVE IT. Often people comment how they could NOT do that. So I'm glad to hear other married folks say how they enjoy it as much as we do!!!
My wife and I have been married 53 years. My last job in life was building homes and flipping them. I LOVED WORKING WITH MY WIFE.! Like you said to Grant that it was one of your biggest joys working with him! It brought tears to these old eyes. My wife was involved with everything in these homes. I built and she told me what colors and what sizes she wanted things. Yes, you guys will be together for many many years enjoying that special working connection. He beams when he watches you do stuff. You guys are perfect mates! Your kids will be so proud!!!! I’m proud for knowing you! 🥲🤗👍👋
That RTV gasket (black sealant) should be allowed to set up for 30 minutes to an hour before fully tightening the bolts. Put it on as a 1/8 inch bead, hand tighten the bolts, let it set for 30 minutes and then fully torque the bolts. If you tighten it up to quickly the sealant squishes out and doesn't have enough compliance to form a good seal.
A couple of the bolts securing the water pump thread directly into the water jacket of the engine block and should be installed with thread sealant applied to the threads of the bolt.
You two keep haven fun. If you don't want to be with your spouse all day then maybe a little reflection is needed on life choices. Just wait until kids come along, you'll be remembering those alone times you had together and be very happy you had them.
Wonderful to see the team work that you and Grant have together!!😎💪😎
I am so impressed with this channel, and it is probably the best Farming Channel in the world.
It`s great to see y`all gitt`n `er done and enjoying it. I had Tr acker for a daily driver and made it home thru a major blizzard in 2012. Good little machine.
Great video! Thanks for taking us along to see the farm life!
So good to see how happy you both are working together.
Awwwwwww, what a gift to be able to work together so well. You are blessed!
I loved seeing the GEO and the evening repair job. Great ending with it getting dark, the kind words, and in the GEO, where it all started. Love watching you guys.
That corn was awesome, when I grew up late 60''s early 70's we grew cron for silage for our feedlot. So yeah late July and that corn is beautiful.
Bought a few shirts. You two are serendipity and soul mates in a corn field. It's a beautiful thing to see.
Thanks so much for showing the true joys and challenges of farming! Even those pesky little issues of overlooking "one last bolt" holding the water pump secure (how many of us have done exactly that?! ) Or trying to break it loose from the mounting... or trying to get that ONE square plug loose from the old pump that you REALLY need in the new pump. Plus sealing up leaks, etc. Not everything goes as smoothly as hoped for... and I'm glad that you show those things too. Keep on doing what you're doing!
You can see where the job satisfaction comes from, working with your partner and the joyof fixing things in the great outdoors.
Me and my wife have worked together for over 20 years ! You guys will make it as long as you respect each other. Never lose respect for each other if you do you are doomed. You guys are amazing !

Hi Laura & Grant, It is cool seen how the corm develops during the growing season and how you take care of your equipment! Thanks for sharing! Ken
It never fails to amaze me how much the two of you have to know about *everything* mechanical on your farm, and every little detail about farming itself. Watching Laura diagnose corn in all of its stages is amazing. Just when I think I've learned the last hint, she teaches me something else. Grant, keep opening the door for her. Just cause. Love to you both.

It's very nice of you to see you working with so much passion. Working big together. I love it. Roger from Belgium. ❤❤❤❤
Working alongside someone day in and day out takes compromise and understanding by both parties. You two are a perfect match.
You two are so fun to watch, partly because you don't let things keep you down, more so because you two are a great team. Great work on getting the water pump replaced and fixing the pump
It’s nice to see both of you working together wish my wife was more into engine like you Laura thanks for sharing both of you

One thing about you channel is you can definitely learn something, you are a great teacher. Thanks from a non farmer
That tracker is a beast. The little engine that could.
Hi Laura I had a Geo myself. It was Black with a Soft top black . My wife and I had it in Water up to the bumper lights . Never gotten stuck ever lots of FUN . Goe are fun to have ... You guys did a Great job on the Pump together... God bless you both 😮❤
You two are truly blessed to have found each other ! 👍🏻
Thumbs up & a Handshake..job well done ..an awesome married couple..
Wow, such wonderful admonishing of Grant ! That's very nice !
Hats off to you and Grant, that’s the best looking stands of corn I’ve ever seen…great channel, keep up the great work.
A Ford V8 engine, I like your irrigation videos. A simple motor pushing all that water to water 100's of acres makes it nostalgic in a way. A time when things were simpler. Nebraska looks like a cool place to live...
The greatest gift is a compliment like that. God Bless you and your family.
I really really like your positive way to talk about each other - love to both of you from Denmark. Nice fix of the moters water pump. I have just change the water pump of my mothers VW car - with much less space. Enjoy the summer in NB 🙂
Always great to see you guys working together.
You two are truly inspirational
GEO Tracker = "original" side-by-side four-wheeler! The older couple is still probably laughing about Laura pushing the Tracker after church!
Truly an amazing family. Field is looking so good.
As a mechanic and a farmer I was wondering how long it was gonna take for the both of you to find that last bolt, hehe. Good work on the repair! Also one large ear of corn is better yielding than two smaller ears. At least here in SD it is, something my grandfather taught me. Bigger kernels take up more space than the smaller kernels. Regardless, that is not something you can control anyway. The crops do look very good there!
@mikewatson4644

I always felt that if you had two ears, it meant you should have increased the plant population. Sadly, you don't know that till afterwards because it is partly determined from the weather. I would take 1 ear anytime, the second ear usually doesn't contribute much, but takes resources away from the 1st ear.
@MEPS003
10 ай бұрын
Very good point, I forgot about this. The second ear is telling us something. It's almost like the plant almost has too much available water/nutrients and can't do anything with it but to grow a second ear which probably won't fill out that well. Or maybe this is how they grow 300+ bushel corn! I've never farmed irrigated land so I don't know if two ears is a good thing or not. I just know our ears of corn where we farm are usually 16-22 rows around. Either way things were looking good!
Laura, as I watch this I chuckle because we are wearing the exact same shirt color and all. Corn is looking fantastic.
I like the fact that you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty. I sign of a real farmer. Have a safe harvest.
Again a nice place to have your HF Magnetic tray for your tools and bolts so you can keep them together and not worry about them falling on the ground. maybe have a tool list in your phone notes fills so you can run a check list for the mostly always needed tools. if you don't like that make laminated sheets for each different types of Pivot jobs that you do with tools part and pry bars. Wondering of you might look for a sponsor like eco Flow as a place to get a portable power generator and have a charger and spare battery's for tools

What a wonderful couple. You both are so blessed.
I'll tell ya what I've learned so much about farming since watching these, its very interesting to learn new things. 😁
That memory you shared at the beginning about pushing the Geo Tracker? Don't worry about having looked ridiculous. Those types of memories will stay with you for life, and keep you grounded. Also really loved the sentiment at the end of the video. You guys are special! ❤
Way to go guys! You are building memories and a future. That’s the stuff…
Love your videos. Best practice for replacing a water pump is use thread sealer to keep the bolts from rusting out and torque the bolts in a criss cross pattern. It will help the pump last longer and make future repairs easier.
One of my greatest joys is watching your videos. I hope the corn heads continue to grow as expected... and that you get rain.
You guys are so cute!!!! Many more happy years together for you both!!!!
Thank you and God bless you two

Laura, this was a special video for me to watch as it reminded me of the first video of you that I watched. It was like two or three years ago and one of the things that caught my eye was that you were replacing a water pump on a V8 engine which was on a stand in your shop. I watched with fascination as you went through the process and still had long beautiful fingernails at the end. A girl working on an engine? Yeah, I could follow that, but to still have beautiful nails after the fact? No, you had to have some kind of magic or something.
