    In regards to all the comments saying how great of an instructor Leigh is- I did my CBT with him today and it was exactly as you see here. I went from absolutely zero previous bike experience to riding my newly purchased geared 125 home all in one day. There was absolutely no playing up for the cameras in this, Leigh is a great instructor, and was every bit as concise, informative, and supportive as you see in this video series!

    Well done Dan! I think I counted 3 times of stalling, but after the rain and the wind, you got there, anda t over 17 years old (At the time), you showed not only great confidence, but a good attitude towards the riding, too. As someone who is about to do the same thing, I've found these videos helpful and informative. This particular segment was great because of the camera use and Leigh did good commentary throughout. Thanks for posting this.

    Unfortunately, I had balance issues (On both a moped and a 125cc bike) at my free training session at 90-one training, Obelisk Rise, Kingsthorpe, Northampton on 7th Sept 2020 (I can't ride a bicycle, so it was really no surprise that I didn't get far). I wasn't invited to come back for the CBT course (On 18th Sept) and that has devasted me. Gutted about it, but I really appreciate the opportunity I was given, even so briefly. Having never done anything like that before, at least I tried something new, even if I failed fulfill my Biking ambition.

    Yes, both brakes. You need to stop as soon as possible, and two brakes will help with that.

    Hi, Yes in an ideal world, but this is a real life CBT and a new rider with little to no experience. I'm sure this was discussed with the instructor at the time. We all had to learn somehow!

    After passing the CBT you can drive both automatic and gears. You should also have the option to choose on which one you would like to have your CBT :)

    Got my cbt Tuesday. I'm pretty concerned and anxious ,as I'm struggling to see how I can go from total novice to road ready on a manual within hours?? I mean you need 40 hours of car tuition plus they have a brake and clutch to aid you.

  • @lexmotomotorcycles

    @lexmotomotorcycles

    Yes it's certainly different. The CBT is only the provisional status for bikes hence the L plates. Road knowledge comes with time and starts as a pedestrian or cyclist. The CBT element just ensures you're comfortable with a motor vehicle. Additional training is always worth a look :) Hope you got on ok :)

    Karl, Get out there and get it done. If it helps, I only had 10hrs in a car before I passed my car test 30 years ago. We all started somewhere. Experience comes with time on the bike. You will not be allowed out on a road until the instructor is happy that you have adequate control of the brakes and clutch. It's normal to feel apprehensive but you will pick it up really quickly and grow in confidence.

  • @lexmotomotorcycles

    @lexmotomotorcycles

    He's under the supervision of a trainer so it's okay. The provisional status of a learner rider covers them from starting to when they get the qualification. The CBT is simply confirmation they can ride without the trainer present.
