Lyrics
She takes the back road and the lane
Past the school that has not changed
In all this time
She thinks of when the boy was young
All the battles she had won
Just to give him life
That man
She loved that man
For all his life
But now we meet to take him flowers
And only god knows why
For what's the use in pressing palms
When children fade in mother's arms
It's a cruel world
We've so much to lose
And what we have to learn, we rarely choose
So if it's god who took her son
He cannot be the one living in her mind
Take care my love, she said
Don't think that god is dead
Take care my love, she said
You have been loved
If i was weak, forgive me
But i was terrified
You brushed my eyes with angels wings, full of love
The kind that makes devils cry
So these days
My life has changed
And i'll be fine
But she just sits and counts the hours
Searching for her crime
So what's the use of pressing palms
If you won't keep such love from harm
It's a cruel world
You've so much to prove
And heaven help the ones who wait for you
Well i've no daughters, i've no sons
Guess i'm the only one
Living in my life
Take care my love, he said
Don't think that god is dead
Take care my love, he said
You have been loved

This music really bring us some kind of strong thoughts, and when we remember about those beloved one who left us alone, it makes our day a little bit darker, so listening this song gives some kind of release to us and peace in our soul...then, I do understand what you mean, and I can say it to you coz I lost someone important in my life...God give us strength to go on in this world... God bless you.

he wrote this, not for his lost lover but for his lover's mother. How absolutely amazing. He clearly felt so deeply. Devastated. Such a loss, yet he still, despite his personal pain managed, somehow, to respect other's peoples' beliefs and faith. What a man! xxx What a massive, unbelievable loss . don't think any of us appreciated the talent until we lost it terribly sad

George said several times he felt he was a vessel from something greater than himself. His music was more important to him than himself. His voice was phenomenal, his songwriting ability second to none and he has this uncanny ability to always make the right decisions with his music. Maybe he was a vessel but there's no denying he was just one of the most talented people to ever walk on this planet.

If you watch the actual video of "Jesus To A Child " .., you'll see I typed a brief description behind the meaning to that amazing song.., a couple of days ago. It iz my favorite song of all songs in the world, to me. That's why I used it here.., in metaphorical terms. Smoochez, & toodlez! 😘

Dora Jackson: Precisely! Most who are not Christian automatically assume we are harshly judgemental. In most cases they are.., wrongfully. I happen not to be that type. I don't go to church. Haven't for 2 decades. I know, just how livid Jesus would be, if he were here. It's beyond disturbing, corrupt, & sadly, sickeningly nauseating. Soo.., I built a church within myself. George Michael was very much in touch with God. His writings spoke volumes, in his music. Case in piont... "Jesus To A Child ", as well as others, that should've been hits. I loved his personality, az well as his spirituality. &, if people want to ignore fact, that's by choice. I cannot ignore..,one who was influenced by Christ's nature. George Michael, was that kind of human being. What a soul he was!! I honor him, by speaking up.

This song makes me cry every time I listen to it. I think of all the parents out there that have lost children... Having to bury their children before they die and how awful that is. I have a daughter and she's 24 years old... If she died before me.. I don't even know how I would get through it. So I have so much admiration and respect for parents who have lost children and were able to go on.

When my grandmother passed away 10 years ago, her mother, my great grandmother was still alive. Although her thinking abilities were declining because of her old age, I remember how she was aware of everything at her funeral and mourned her loss for the next 2 years until she passed away too. Losing a loved one, especially a child is something no parent should experience no matter what their age is. I hope they are happy and finally together now.

***** I agree. In my eyes he is not underrated. But it just seems like he wasn't as appreciated or talked about as other artists such as MJ, Prince, Bowie etc. Maybe his sexuality played a hand in that, or maybe it's because he liked to shy away from the cameras. That being said, his music will live on forever, and rightfully so.

And now, after 23 years I feel it like never before since my boyfriend died aged 32 of lymphoma, just a week ago. Me and his mom arranged his funeral. This is truly the most tragic event in my life, such an enormous loss which will be so hard to get over. George lost his friend, too, and wrote such a beautiful heartfelt song as a tribute. It takes a great talent to shape your grief into something as amazing.

One of the most saddest songs ever written. Once again it was played over and over again. After I lost my beloved. It was very therapeutic. It became more special after I lost my dad. Even though it was not played during the funeral. It was playing in my head. Rest In Peace George, Harvey, Orlando.

George loved very deeply as a human being so when we lost someone close to him, it was always devastating. In spite of this, he gave to the world in so many ways and often quietly without any need for attention or acknowledgement.
