You can tell he was ahead of his time, when he only gets scattered applause at times. But he didn’t give a sh*t. He speaks with the same enthusiasm knowing the crowd ain’t even ready for it.

@Nicholas Ovel I can't speak for everyone who claims to identify as being on the left, and I certainly don't expect most people who claim to be on the right to acknowledge, and or take responsibility for the 'right's' historical influence and positions from the past that are no longer considered mainstream policies or opinions. Let's just say I look for policies that are fact based, data driven, scientific, and secular over anecdotal, purely traditional, dogmatic, religious, and purely emotional. I believe inspiration, empathy, compassion, and hope ultimately motivate better solutions than greed, selfishness, fear, and hate. Other than that you'd have to be more specific about policies and positions.

All true comedy is criticism. George was a great articulator of criticism in a way that allowed people to reflect Inwardly, if just for a moment, with relaxed eyes. Most people avoid looking within their beliefs and values and seeking the true source. Something that they accepted along the way - and when George mentions various aspects of the things we have accepted, he couch's it in a non threatening way. He hurls the indignation at something other than first person. We laugh! We laugh hard. We sometimes laugh nervously. He is one of America's best Comedy performers - ever. Top 5 - hands down. R I P Mr Carlin.

I've been a major fan since I first saw "You're all diseased" on HBO while on holidays in the US (I'm from France). And beside his brilliant old-school insights, his stubborn refusal to go for PC-fun, I'm always amazed by his intonations, and comedic skill. I'm sure he was a natural, but he must have also worked tons on his routines. His voice especially, at times is ab-so-lu-te-ly fantastic, so full of meaning, and so brutal. RIP George, you are sorely missed.

@@lordtullus9942 there is nothing you can do unfortunately. All people can do is stay at home and keep the advisories in place. I am diabetic and while I'm an essential agricultural employee, I go to work and come home and stay there. I go to the store and pharmacy when I need to. I wear gloves and wash my hands and stay vigilant about that stuff. Just like when flu season comes around. It's an election year. The panic the media spreads is just awful. The flu kills more people and has a broader range of people it kills. The seasonal flu has killed more infants this year than last year. We haven't heard about that. 60,000 people have died in the us of seasonal flue in 19/20. 9,000 have died of this novel virus.
