I recently saw Geoff's cover of Ain't No Sunshine and it's quite impressive, with a creative arrangement that fits the lyrics well while also showcasing his wide range.

This is one of my favorites
Geoff is pronounced "Jeff". 🙂 Geoff sings all of the parts! Try Geoff's cover of House of the Rising Sun.
Bass players/singers are always underrated for their skills, everyone loves to hear their low notes, but the help hold the foundation of the songs together with the drums /beatboxers. You should really checkout Voiceplay where Geoff (Jeff) is not only their bass singer, between him and their beatboxer they arrange most of their songs. You'll love their newest song 7 Nation Army or Valhalla Calling where he reaches and sustains new lows 😊
Loved your reaction! He is quite amazing with his range and creativity in so many genres. I think you'll enjoy his channel and his work with Voiceplay. ❤
Geoff's catalogue, both solo and with Voiceplay is MASSIVE and I know he will NOT release a bad song. He does his own arranging, and has instructional videos on singing and arranging. This song was a 1950s original by bass singer Tennessee Ernie Ford, which is a CLASSIC.
Jeff has a 5 octave singing range not counting his sub-harmonic extra low bass...he a the bass for the acapella group Voiceplay, but his solo (doing all the parts himself) are epic...enjoy.
Love Geoff’s stuff. Would also recommend Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold, Rains of Castamere, and Ghost Riders in the Sky. Basically anything he’s done 😅. Others have commented this already, but his name is pronounced like Jeff ☺️. I was impressed that you pronounced his last name correctly haha

Yes, Misty Mountains from The Hobbit!
In this particular song, Geoff stayed in his chest voice - he's known for getting super-low using subharmonic techniques, but in this one (one of the earliest on his solo channel) he stayed completely "natural". The lowest he gets in this one is a G#1. His lowest note in a video is a B0 - done with his a cappella vocal group VoicePlay, in their videos for the Halo theme, and one of their latest, Valhalla Calling.

Except for that "super dramatic bend to an F#1". 🤫

And the other one whereas he hits an F#1 from "Step Aside".

He also hits an F#1 on the "walked to the mine" bit pure chest of course

Almost sure he hits lower notes in the beginning of "The Dragonborn"

@@HolyNEvil666 I'm fairly confident that the lower note Geoff hits at the beginning of Dragonborn Comes is a C#1 - lower than anything he hits in this song (for which I appreciate the corrections!), but not quite as low as the B0 in Halo theme and Valhalla Calling. I've also heard that he momentarily hits an A0 in at least one song, but I can't really hear it, given that it's very short and my hearing isn't 100% anymore.
If you love bass singing, , maybe you should try his version of "Far over the Misty Mountains cold". Less "groovy" (it's a totally different song, from "The Hobbit" movie...), but heck, it's so good (and yes, all 4 characters in the video are him). 🙂 Or maybe "Ain't no sunshine", where he shows a good share of his 5 octaves range... and does a drop from "normal voice" to "sub-basement voice" faster than you can flip a coin. 😁 Or his version of "The sound of silence"... I know, so many have already covered that song, but trust me, it's worth the listening 🙂. Or his latest release, "Man of constant sorrow"... 😁 Or his version of "Till then", a WWII song, very romantic and touchy. 🙂 Or his take on Elvis' "Way Down"... Hilarious, and that last note! 😅 Or again, his Halloween releases... "Ghost riders in the sky", or for the sake of the super-duper low final note, "The Headless Horseman". 🙂 See you next time! 🙂
I'm soooo glad you had a good time reacting to Geoff! He has more heart moving vids.
Between Far Over Misty Mountains, Headless Horseman, Monster Mash... As well as all of his work with Voiceplay really shows his range and highlights his low range signing
This was awesome! Brings back memories of that movie
Loved your reaction. GEOFF is pronounced like Jeff.
If you would like to hear him sing really low. Go for his Game Of Thrones cover of "The Rains Of Castamere" Epic lows.
Welcome to the rabbit hole known as Geoff Castalucci and Voiceplay, keep exploring.
I love it when people discover Geoff for the first time. He has some really awesome covers on his solo channel, but you should really check him out with his a capella group, VoicePlay, too. Voiceplay is, in my opinion, hands down the most entertaining of the a capella groups out there right now.
Green is your color Millie!!
Great reaction Millie! Geoff's name is pronounced "Jeff" btw. Please react to his cover of "The Sound of Silence".
If you liked this tune, you should watch the new one: Man of Constant Sorrow. It's even more creative - plus MORE LOW notes! liked your reaction!
❤❤❤
In case you didn't realize, All of the voices in the video are Geoff ( pronounced Jeff) recorded on multiple tracks. He has a 4 octave range. You MUST watch "Voiceplay Oogie Boogie's Song" to see him go from even higher than he did here to even LOWER than he did here....AND you'll split your sides laughing at the video. YOU are SO MUCH fun to watch-----I love you❤❤❤
His name is pronounced "Jeff". 😃
I hope you watch all there and his stuff also if you love his voice watch Homefree and Colm Mcguinness
You should listen to the acapella group, VoicePlay. Geoff is a founding member, sings bass, and arranges roughly 50% of their songs. AND - he often literally sings the bass lines as if he were a bass guitar - or sometimes, as a standing bass. It's STUNNING.
Since you love Geoff's voice, I recommand Valhalla Calling by VoicePlay. I think this song has the lowest notes sang by Geoff.
Respect!
His new release with Voiceplay... they always do a special one for Halloween and another for Christmas... is the villian's song Hellfire, from the Hunchback of Norte Dame... you will get to see his full range there. Welcome to Geoff, and Voiceplay.
Some more Voiceplay songs to check out: - The Phantom of the Opera, featuring Rachel Potter (very different to the musical!) - Nothing Else Matters (Metallica cover) - Valhalla Rising, featuring J.NONE
I remember Tennessee Ernie Ford singing this way back when but you should hear ZZ Top’s rendition of the song. Magnificent imo.
This guy does an amazing job, but IMO you should always listen to the first artist to make the song famous. Tennessee Ernie Ford-1957. You had an amazing voice too.
The original by Tennessee Ernie Ford in the early '50s is one of the biggest selling records of all time. Give it a listen.
Please do more reactions to Geoff. Misty mountains cold is great!! Also, he is in a band called Voice Play. Please do them also.

0:28 Just a little FYI - His name is pronounced ‘Jeff’
Since you like bass singers, might checkout The Bass Gang feat. Tim Foust on Hooked on a Feeling. Group full of Bass Singer collaborating with the Bass Singer from Home Free that can also sing high tenor as well. Has a Five octave range.
How low can he sing? Yes!
How low can he go!? ALL THE WAY!
lol imagine Geoff and his wife put this music video together in only two hours, in between lunch and taking their son off school.
Not as low as he can sing - try his version of "Misty Mountains Cold" among so many others. NOTE; Goeff (Jeff) sings all the parts with his 5+ octave range.
I still waiting to Dimash
While the rhythm of the song is very catchy and groovy, the lyrics certainly aren't. It deals with the exploitation of mine workers in mining towns back in the late 19th century. They were often paid in "mine scrip" which could only be exchanged in the company store for extortionate rates. Miners often had to go into debt just to cover their basic living expenses for food and rent. As they couldn't save up to leave the mining town, they were bound into a vicious cycle of working 12-16 hour days, exchanging all of their daily rates for food, then having to go into debt to buy their family clothing or shoes. That's what he's referring to in the chorus "St. Peter, don't you call me, cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store."
Millie, la O de Geoff, es muda, se pronuncia geff

Sorry, but the original was by Merle Travis. Tennessee Ernie Ford just made the most well known version.
Geoff=Jeff
Pronounced Jeff. That just looks like the Italian spelling I think.
Yo dimash is amazing
You may "play" the bass, but Geoff SINGS the bass, there are no instruments in this production!!

That isn’t true at all. There is an extremely obvious upright bass line throughout the song. You must be deaf.
Munkh Erdene's sixteen tons better
There's no bass (instrument) in that video...

Geoff uses instrumentation in his solo work, and there is indeed an upright bass playing while he sings.
Your pause timing was horrible on this video!!!
What is with reactors reuploading their year old videos? Like, the thing you do is already easy, and you can't even do that?
