He is a human walking bass line. And tenor. And Rock tenor. And baritone. After a point, you just sit back....and wait for the quakes. He uses all his ranges, with *precision*. That's what I love. No growled lows where you can't understand the words, no strained highs.
What makes Geoff my favorite is his arrangements. Always interesting, always keep me guessing, never repeat. He's musically brilliant, and the quality of his low notes is uniformly high. It's never just about how low he can go. He's always focused on making his singing voice beautiful, and that focus has yielded impressive results.

His arrangement of the Wicked Medley done by Voice Play is his masterpiece.

@Jay Reynolds agreed! One of my favorites!
There is a follow up to this song from Geoff, "Big, Bad John".

The songs aren't related in any way I don't think.
He's got the most beautiful voice! Ain't No Sunshine, Shenandoah, Way Down and The Monster Mash are 4 of my favorite "Geoff" Songs!

@@brandonohara9275 , the second verse, his voice is SO sweet!
Thats why hes my favorite bass. Some people don't like it but I love not knowing when he's going to drop it. But I also love knowing I'll get numerous drops from him lol. Plus his highs are so beautiful. High and Dry is a great song for his range
A friend sent me a link to this cover by Geoff and I was hooked! This led me to Voiceplay and I've been there ever since. Do the bass battles if you like, they don't really interest me. Geoff is my favorite not because he can go lower or higher than anyone else. It is the richness of the sound. And he's not hard to look at. Consider his cover of Shenandoah. It's not his most popular, but it is absolutely gorgeous and soothing.
My brain uses "Geoff_G#1" as an internal keyword to retrieve this song and it does it for a reason 😄
He has five octaves and uses them all masterfully.
welcome to the Geoff rabbit hole enjoy the ride,
3:21 wth😭😭😭woosh that bass was crazy
His voice has such a wide range
I love listening to Geoff. He's been doin things to my ears.... for years. You backed it up right where it's.... MmmGOTdamn!
Wow! What an amazing bass singer. I've just subscribed to your channel after watching a couple of your reactions and enjoyed them. If you haven't already I'd like to see you react to Procol Harum-A Whiter Shade of Pale Shade live in Denmark 2006. I think you'll really love it! Looking forward to more of your reactions! Take care!
5 octaves of range God's gifts and talents unto all mankind Wow . Avi change on the Rise.

I think Saddle Up is my favorite so far, Headless Horseman or Mr Grinch with Voiceplay I was a fan of Thurl Ravencroft's voice work
You can hear the range of Geoff's voice even better in the "Oogie Boogie Song" of Voiceplay. OOGIE BOOGIE'S SONG | The Nightmare Before Christmas kzread.info/dash/bejne/d5aszbGnpN2Yg6Q.html
Geoff is so very awesome! Love this arrangement that Geoff did with this song. Love your reaction!
I believe his wife is his editor for the videos. ❤ Glad you've found him as well. Don't miss his Bill Withers cover of Ain't No Sunshine...if you want to hear a really incredible cover of his range.
Incredible wow
I love your smile 😊😊
Oogi boogi... with Voiceplay
You want to really see geoff's range "rich man" really shows it.
Have you not heard him cover “The Misty Mountain”?
Have you seen hoist the colors? A few bass singers got together and did it. And voiceplay. Both very cool. Check em out
Please review Geoff's over of the Beatles song "Blackbird"
all I'm going to say is that Geoff also has some readings on his page, so not just singing. Not everyone 'gets' acapella, but those who do become die hard fans. I'll check to see if you've reacted to Home Free before I suggest anything but great reaction. Oh yes, Geoff has just released his own cover of Sound of Silence. OK, I checked, for Home Free I'd suggest their earlier stuff first, including Folsom Prison, All About That Bass, Elvira, Beer Budget, Butts ReMix, then progress to their cover of End of the Road. The ultimate goal as most Home Fries say, is to work up to Mayday, but you need to understand some of their vocal tricks and techniques before hitting that goal post

interesting how you never mentioned Geoff's charisma, presence or looks, i would assume its something a performer also is judged on

With the right speakers, it should give you panty puddles.
I'd rather just see you do reactions, bass battle videos aren't my thing so I won't watch those reactions.

Uh, that was an interesting voice. But talent? No. He sang that song, as if it was a happy one. Topic totally missed.

@deniskramer3562 That's the way the original of this song goes? I mean it's kind of upbeat and soulful. Also, the man sings, beatboxes, plays piano, has a nearly 6 octave range - he's doing all those parts and he's done even wider apart range in other things- and furthermore he's doing all the arranging, and a lot of times he arranges for other groups too (mostly voiceplay). He has to record his voice many times over and act the parts so it looks/sounds as seamless as this. I'd call that talent for sure - just because you don't like a person's version of a single song does not mean they don't have talent. Furthermore, It's mostly him, his wife, and a few friends that did all the production too.

@@emilyelizabethbuchanan998 Ok.... when someone has a math test and he has to do some multiplication. Instead of that he makes some evolution... would you say: "Hey, this is much more difficult than multiplication, he is so talented" or would you say that he totally missed? Perhaps you should read the lyrics. Eventually you could be able to understand my point.

@deniskramer3562 i know the lyrics, this song has been around longer than Ive been alive. But at the same time the ORIGINAL Tennessee Ernie Ford version of this song that Geoff based this off of has the same snapping rhythm/shuffle and is also a mix of upbeat and soulful like this one with some comical voice tricks. So its not Geoffs fault he sang it like that, that's the way he knows it. Heck, Ford laughs at one point in his recording. Also there is such a thing as "wry humor" over a dark situation, which I think both this songs versions have.

@@emilyelizabethbuchanan998 So you say that it is ok and superduper when many people make it wrong? It was alright in the 30s, when more than 15 million people in Germany voted for Hitler, because there where so many? This is not a song to entertain! It´s a song against capitalism. A song about a tragedy of a man.
