The one thing that sets homefree apart from all other acapela groups is their diversity in range. Tim starts off singing in an upper range but then as the song goes on he gets lower than any mortal man should be able to. Then you mix that with Rob and Austin whos voices ate just awesome in their own way. And the best beat boxer on earth. They just cant be beaten.

You might want to check out the "subharmonic singing" technique. Also, Geoff is saying openly that "if I sound superhuman, that's most likely post-effects". Like that moment with Rudolf that you mentioned is actually layered.

It was a cover Jess, and you should listen to the original sung by Percy Sledge in 1966, we think you'd like it, and Percy as well.

Watch me react to home free, AyoJess. Hey. I"m back. And I'm back. And I'm back and I'm watching you. I'm seeing you. That is half the battle right? Getting seen. That is what it is all about......... I like what I see. I like that you are starting a business. That you have a business and it is going well. We need more black successful entreprenuers. I'm getting ready to start a business myself. This was a great reaction. Awesome song. Great song choice. Very cool. Very cool. You did a good job with this one. Great video! I am and I continue to be a proud subj7scriber to your channel. I am and I continue to be. Hopefully I look familiar to you. I want you to recognize me as a returning person to your stuff. I am an advocate on this platform for engaging with others and supporting one another. And returning love and reciprocating feedback. I think that kind of community on here is what we need. If there were more people like me, you might have an extra 4,000 fans and friends to your channel; right now. Extra. I truly am being sincere when I write that. Let me get half the battle too. Let me know that you see me. Who knows you might even like one of videos there.

The original was released in 1966 by Percy Sledge. An integral part of my high school/college years. Michael Bolton did a cover in 1991 or so, which many think is really good. I am not one of those. I do, however, think Austin did Percy proud. We haven't often ben able to hear his power voice - in a group like HF you blend in most of the time. Have you listened to their version of Patsy Cline's Crazy? It is another where they basically turned Austin loose and just backed him up. For something completely different from Austin, you might check out his more recent solo release(s) - two versions of a song called The Humankind. He has a couple TikToks of the first verse. Just wow. As others have said, Austin is leaving HF. He will put his efforts into his solo career and also, I am sure, into singing with some of his friends in small groups or duets on occasion.

So glad you loved this! I could see it in your face! This was recorded during the pandemic. The rest of the guys were remote (I love the TV motif!). Austin and his then girlfriend (now wife) was behind the camera. She's the one all those flirty looks were going to! Every woman I've watched react to this song just melts. Percy Sledge did this originally in the 60's, and the best cover since then (until this one) was Michael Bolton in 1991. Home Free and Austin just blow this away! You should react to Austin singing a solo version of Bring Him Home from the musical Les Miserable based on a 1800's novel by French author Victor Hugo. The character singing is Jean Valjean who loves the young soldier like the son he never had. Have tissues! I can't hear this without tears in my eyes. The whole song is wonderful, and the ending is spectacular!

Austin certainly nailed it and he will be missed. Technically he hasn't left yet but they are in transition time. Come July their new member Adam Bell-Bastien (yes, a third Adam, not confusing at all) - they call him Bastien - will join them on stage instead of Austin. As Bastien has been a member of Home Free in the past (some years before the sing-off) I'm sure he'll fit right in.

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
