Geode Cracking Reveals 350 Million Year Trapped Water!

Cracking open some geodes from world, famous locality Keokuk, Iowa !! The crazy thing is that three of these were filled with water, two of them actually dating back 350 million years ago! Sometimes the water gets trapped in place as the geode was forming, and remained in there for that entire time, so exciting when you crack, one open and the water spills out!

It's generally not recommended to drink water out of a geode. Here's why: Unknown Minerals: The minerals inside a geode can vary depending on its geological history. Some minerals might be harmless, while others could be toxic if ingested. Bacteria: While geodes are often sealed for millions of years, there's a chance recent fractures or cracks could have allowed bacteria or other contaminants to enter. Stagnant water can also harbor bacteria growth. Unknown Chemical Composition: The water itself might have been trapped for a very long time and could contain dissolved minerals or other chemicals in unknown concentrations, potentially making it unsafe to drink. In short, the risks outweigh the potential benefits. There's no guarantee the water is safe, and there are much better ways to quench your thirst!

I learned iron out is not good on calcite , it soaks in and makes it look rough and scratched. Muratic acid would be best just a quick dipped be fine in my experience with crystal cleaning.

Love your channel. I want to take my wife on a killer crystal collecting trip. Anywhere in USA this November. Where do you suggest we can fly in and get some killer crystals in a long weekend?

Everybody makes fun of him until Rockhound Rob evolves into a higher being from drinking a super probiotic from the times of ancients. Don't let them get you down Rob, you keep enjoying your rocktails and mudtinis. I also hear it's great on the rocks
