A kind parent will decide when to give their children what they want so they won't be spoiled too much. A sensitive parent will decide how to take their children's concerns or problems and tackle them appropriately. This person wasn't any of those, they pretty much dictated the child's life, and how is that an intelligent, kind, and sensitive parent? Please, let children be children. Just because you're the parent, that doesn't mean you get to dictate their life. The child doesn't even know if they want it or not, since the child doesn't have the capacity for that kind of decision. There's a reason why most LGBT members before are adults or young adults.

Even if they were part of the LGBT community, it doesn't matter. They would still be the greatest parents we could've asked for. I am 53..and love my feminine dresses, heels, perfume and make up. However as a teen I ran around the woods dressed as a medieval Knight and carried a sword. No one batted an eyelid.. I grew out of it.

I was sensitive, too, and I remember my mom asking me on several occasions if I was gay whenever she'd yell at me and eventually I might cry sometimes. Adults have the power to create a beautiful life for a child, or utterly destroy them. Hopefully you learned what not to do, based on your experiences, as did I.

Hi, I appreciate people sharing their views and I too am not in favour of "pronouns" for kids. However, I think we should still be respectful of others choice of way to live. I don't really see this as abuse per se, but I would be interested to see how these kids develop over time. I think it's sort of worse when the education systems are FORCING parents to accept the pronouns thing when they personally don't agree with that for their own children. I hope that makes sense? That's just how I see the situation personally! When I was pregnant, I found myself called them "her" before I knew their natural sex as it was too early to tell! I had a miscarriage so I never got to find out, but to this very day I think of her as a she. If it was a boy, I obviously would have changed that according to what he or she was!

I was a tomboy, i grew up saying i wanted to be a boy, and I'd get upset if you called me a little girl, i wanted to be seen as a strong boy. I rejected everything deemed feminine, cut off my hair, wore boys clothes and my friends were mainly boys. However, my family did still remind me i was a girl and thats all good. I'm so glad my family didn't do this with me. Today, i absolutely love everything feminine, pink cutesy and i am addicted to makeup, its like im making up for my lack of interest in feminine things when i was younger. You don't need to do what this individual is doing 🙄

It will cause more confusion for the children than anything else. The parents are nuts. They should leave their children be and let them decide to be what they want. Do not GROOM them. Calling them NON-BINARY IS A FORM OF LABELING! I am a straight woman who wanted to be a boy from 7 until I was 17. I had (still do) have a low guttural voice I was tall for my age, I had short hair, I didn't like dolls, I hated dresses, I hated anything pink, and still do, I loved computers, comics, and video games, I excelled in sports, and I loved hanging out with boys rather than girls since I was in kindergarten until I was in uni. I became a computer programmer, I still hate anything pink, I still only wear black, and, still hate chick flicks & rom-coms, but now I'm married to a male engineer who shares similar interests. What's good is that my parents did not interfere with whatever I wanted to be. They just left me to my own devices and gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted to do. They didn't plant any stupid and confusing ideas, and didn't ask me to "PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE YOUR GENDER NOW AS YOU'RE STILL EXPLORING" They didn't force me to be more feminine. They didn't force me to be more masculine. They didn't label me as confused or non-binary. They didn't sit me down to have a talk about gender identity either, seeing that I was acting like a boy. If my parents were as mad as these crazed nutters, they would have had me on hormone therapy because I looked, acted, sounded, and moved like a boy. LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN BE. DO NOT GROOM THEM. DO NOT FEED THEM WITH NONSENSICAL BS. She's not insane but she's certainly unconventional. She's clearly highly intelligent - in fact she completely outflanked Piers, which was refreshing to see. All she's saying is she's not going to inflict a gender onto her kids based on their biological assigned sex. She wants her kids to 'evolve' in terms of gender indentification. I don't agree with that approach but I respect that she has a right to raise her children any way she sees fit. One could argue that her strategy is a form of child abuse but I don't think it is since all she's doing is 'not inflicting a gender on her kids'. The strong likelihood is that her kids willl evolve as nature intended. Nature occasionally screws up though so maybe they'll not.

How can this person still be allowed to roam free around children ? I don't understand

I find your anecdote dubious at best

I was born as a women and I've always been like a tomboy my entire life. I've always played with guys and love doing everything a guy does. Not at all interested in makeup or any girlish things. It did make me question why I am the way I am. Well, I am fortunate to have great parents who made me understand that not everyone is the same and each person is unique. I am now 23 and it wierds me out that people can't accept themselves for who they are and satisfy themselves with ridiculous pronouns. We have women bikers. Just because they are interested in something that a male is usually interested to, does it mean they are too? Absolutely not. Each person is unique and these gender identity concept is just shit. Just accept yourself as a unique individual and move on. There's literally so many other important things in life than this.

Everything you said is my situation, except i am 30. and i did have friends in LGBT, i often got asked if i was trans. which made me think and start questioning "do i really wanna be a boy.. did something wrong happen and i was really supposed to be a guy? Well my parents said I just was more influenced by my brothers which is true. I do my makeup and I'm fairly feminine lol I have 4 kids and am happily married. I'm glad my parents didn't encourage that depression point I was at. It was a new school and new city for me. I just felt so alone.

Same; I don't necessarily go quite as conservative in the views as he does (especially on like abortion etc.), but he does make sense to me nowadays. I don't really have a problem with sexuality; like love is love. My problem starts with multi-partner relations and people trying to ignore biology altogether.

I almost thought this was funny at first - but the more I listen to it …..my eyes are watering with sadness for the children- the psychological torture and unnecessary complexities being forced on tiny beings. It’s so frigin sad

I was a tomboy, didn’t play with barbies, didn’t like girly things as a kid, and I turned out to be a fine woman. I have so many girl friends who went through similar childhoods. These people are just messing with little kids’ minds. It is absolutely ridiculous that this has started to become the new “normal” in the USA and it keeps being advertised all the time. I can’t respect people that do gender reassignment. I think it’s disrespectful to people that really are that gender. It’s like a white person saying I identify as a black person and putting on black face and going to hang out with the bros in the ghetto in America and acting like they’re one of them. No one would put up with that and the black community would be furious. I don’t understand why more women aren’t standing up and speaking out about these men dressing up like women and living a lie. And vice versa with women pretending to be men. They will only ever know what it’s like to pretend to be a woman or a man. As a straight man I personally find I disgusting when you go out in public and see some freak of a guy dressed up in skimpy ladies clothes pretending to be a lady. It’s not as bad seeing a woman dressed like a man but that’s because their skin is covered and I don’t have to see their butt hanging out of a miniskirt.

When I was four I was starting to understand gender and gender stereotypes, I'd started to actually understand when people used she/her pronouns for me, and I knew it felt wrong. Even at the age of four I was able to recognize MY feelings regardless of what others told me. Now at the age of sixteen I've come out to identify as non-binary using they/them pronouns. Being able to tell people that i'm non binary helps me make people understand how I feel and how I perceive myself. It helps me feel more like me. And it does hurt every time someone calls me a girl. I'm not, I never was one and i never will be one. These kids are lucky their parents are so inclusive.

At 4 years old I made the conscious decision to stick my finger up nose for an unspecified reason or amount of time. I felt that’s where it belonged and it’s been my comfort place for years. I’m glad no one corrected this behavior. It’s done wonders for me as an adult.

The interviewee put forward that young children are not in a position to evaluate and consent to the imposition of a gender role as they are simply too young. A 2 year old or 4 year shouldn't be exploring anything besides sleep, eat, play, go to bed. Period. The idea is that you are the ones imposing sexuality-based roles on children from birth by telling them that their body parts correspond to a societal concept that entails gender roles. The interviewee explained that they simply do not impose these sexuality-based concepts on their children. What you said is correct - at that age children should not be preoccupied with ideas about sexuality - and the interviewee applies that principle by not introducing her children to sexuality-based roles and concepts. She also exposed you people as the ones who are obsessed with the body parts of children.

What you shouldn't do is tell the boy which toys he has to play with or what jobs he can have, etcetera, because he's a boy. But telling a boy he's a boy is not toxic. Causing a small child to feel uncertain about her identity and her family structure is toxic.

It's so scary man, I always wanted to be a dad but I can't bring kids into this world I just can't do it. Id be guilty of putting them at risk to hearing these sick parents talk about gender like it's a bag of skittles.

My daughter wanted to be a boy when she was 4 since she had 3 older brothers. I just reaffirmed that she is a girl but let her dress as a boy, but her hair stayed long. She also wanted to be a tiger. Kids can't be left to raise themselves. She was a tomboy until about age 11.

My cousin who claimed she is a boy at age 6 grew out of it in less than a year. These parents don’t even give them a second to grow out of it, rather they force the idea that they are in fact the opposite gender of what they were assigned to at birth.
