    These companies are extremely entitled. I tried applying for an IT Help Desk senior role, 100% remote. Got a response right away, offering $22/hr. No offense but I've got 10 years experience doing this, glowing reviews from current company, and moved up to networking role 6 months ago. I replied back stating that $25/hr is more fair inline with my experience level. No response. You'll get hired as long as you're willing to be underpaid.

    Its not fake... those jobs was not closed after a person took the role.... second... some jobs the company did not find qualified employees regarding skills and all that... third ... when the company did not meet someone... they would halt the job offer no matter they found the person they want or not.... I have been applying for many jobs more than 500 jobs on linked in and indeed as well as another app called bayt in 2023 alone.... I also applied for many jobs by hand... 3 times... each time I take a go... i bring with me 40 copies... I leave hard copies to their receptionist incase there is a job opening there is nothing. Girl I been to floor by floor on 65 floor towers like 4 times!. 2 years unemployed I swear in this gen it's so hard to get a job. If u found a man working and lives his life well that's the shot! Marry him and u don't have to work... because most easy jobs is now being taken by women... that's one of the reasons it's hard to find a job. You are correct; unfortunately just had to do a stent of unemployment last September. Here are the facts; Missouri - Its $325 MAX a week you can receive, or at least that's what I was told. They also further deducted any acrewed PTO time paid to me unpon termination as "additional miscellaneous income". No one could give me an explanation why they just said, "you have to have it deducted or else we won't start paying out your unemployment". The unemployment lasted me almost 4 months before running out, it ran dry by January leading to bills catching up and my account going negative. I landed a job 12.27.23 and they said I won't receive a check until 01.30.24 because of how the company pays... I had to borrow money to start a new job and survive everyday while waiting for my checks to start. The job I was doing prior was a trades position, not union protected, terminated unjustly and they werent paying competitively. As a head position in a maintenance department of a theater and I was only making $21.50/ hr should've been making $22.50/ hr as agreed apon by raises but found out upon termination that they actually never applied my previous raise from the beginning of the year... Were in a strong economy huh. Just keep your nose clean and work a trade job huh. Y'all about to make me and maybe many more of us turn to villainy.

    unemployment figures are fudged numbers. The numbers only include people that got laid off from a job and is currently looking for work while collecting unemployment. Once, their unemployment is off they drop those from the number. They just assume they found job when in reality most don't find one and t hey exhausted the unemployment and they're either homeless or living with family or friends. They're hiding the fact that the economy is bad and the jobs they're creating are just labor jobs that aren't careers.

    I'm part of that number, I got a computer science degree in 2022 (if you know anything about the tech job market, you'll know this means the degree isn't even worth the paper it's printed on) but haven't been able to get any work since graduating, but because I live with my mom I don't qualify for unemployment because she has a job and unemployment eligibility is based on household income, not individual income. So despite having been out of work for two entire years because not even McDonald's will respond to my job applications, I am not included in that figure.

  • @bebdaumon3948

    @bebdaumon3948

    17 сағат бұрын

    @@kaijuultimax9407 No, unemployment is strictly based on what you paid into it. What you're talking about is welfare. The unemployment rate is only people collecting unemployment. It doesn't count people on welfare or anyone that isn't working. The people that are getting unemployment once that runs out. They take you off the unemployment rate which is why you see big drops after a while and they will report the economy is improving when in reality it's not because they assume the people that exhausted unemployment must have found a job. In reality they can just exhausted the unemployment and then end up moving in with either parents or friends or if they don't have that support they end up in the streets. I got 2 degrees Accounting and Finance graduated in 2015. I couldn't get internships nor entry level jobs. At that time there wasn't much where I live but now it's rare to find internships or entry level jobs. There's less in my area and too many people with degrees running around looking for work. It's not just computer science it looks like it's across the board.

    Everyone keeps saying "Go into the trades" but that ship has already sailed. I have friends who went to trade school last year chasing that bag and now they both work at Walmart because no one wants to apprentice new hires for trade jobs. Tradesmen are enjoying all the work they're getting right now and adding an extra employee to their crew just means another person to split the profits with so they'll only do it if they're getting more work than their current workforce can handle. The end result is even the trades have become hard to get into because everyone currently working in the trades knows it's about to be flooded with new applicants so they're hoarding all the work and getting that bag while the going is good. I don't blame them, but it just really goes to show that there is no easy meal ticket in today's job market.

    Even in 2010s applying to jobs via indeed or other systems wasn’t how to get even an interview. You need to network or directly connect with people. Even better is a friend or connection. Or work on projects and make them public. Most jobs are real but they hire like 1-2 people. No one wants more resumes.. when you post a listing using hiring software you get so many resumes that the challenge he is deciding which ones to even review. This is why direct connection or standing out matters. No hiring manager wants to have more resumes on hand.

It's not easy to start a business. 95% of all startups fail in their first year.. .why? most of the time they underestimated how much money it would take to get the business running. You need at least 200k to start any business. Even a vending machine business. They tell you oh it just cost 3k to get a brand new vending machine and then you buy items from Costco or sams club and fill it. They forget to tell you that you need to put the vending machine at a mall or an aiport or on someone else commercial property. They charge rent for the space and you have to pay the eletric that powers that vending machine even if you generate 0 sales you have to buy those for sure. This is when you realize you can't start out with just one vending machine you need a decent amount of them at high traffic locations. It's not easy to start.

    The forbidden alternative to that, is less systemic greed and exploitation of a working class; Because implicit to implicit that narrative, is to just acquiesce to the unyeilding greed -- obviously as a new-hire you should be grateful for your pithy wage-slave earnings. Structurally -- Those at the top of the socioeconomic latter don't have to settle -- that's obviously only for the poors to suffer through. Royalty told their indentured surfs (their underlings) that they should be grateful for working the feilds and to be taxed at a "god-given" allowance -- not that the kings could simply have less in their coffers. If green line always goes up, where are the infinite resources to support the growth? Does "settling for less" undo the damage caused to the climate and earth by infinite consumerism? What part of your blundering self sacrifice becomes noble after you've suffered the cost of tuition -- to enrich the checkbook of the greedy?

    As a recruiter- I’m telling you no one is putting up fake listings. All the listings you see are 100% real, planned for, and budgeted for. HOWEVER- not all posted roles are prioritized. If you’re a tech firm who’s got 6 initiatives for the next 2-3 years that require new talent- you figure out who and what you need and open up req’s (jobs) for those roles. Maybe you need to find a manager for a team before you hire engineers, maybe you need a VP hire before you hire the manager, etc. At a minimum, hiring takes like 3 weeks all said and done- for very senior roles that process can take months. Good companies can afford to be very picky, and are going to remain very picky. 100 software engineers might apply for a SWE role and 90% of them are “qualified” with years of experience, tech stack, degree etc- but do they fit the profile the company actually wants? Maybe 1-2% do. Does that 1-2% want to work for the company? Did they just take a new job? Endless factors at play. Hiring is NOT easy for professional roles.
