If you can’t find a job, that's a reflection on you. Not the system. YOU. It means you lack the job skills, social skills, qualifications, ambition, and so forth.

I walk into places, to talk to the manager or owner. A decade ago when I was in high school, that was completely fine. But now when I do that and ask for a job, the IMMEDIATELY tell me to go online and apply. And now I’m going to start refusing to do that. Because applying online has gotten me nowhere for the past 6 months.

im convinced they want people to send in their resumes to feed into the AI and compare and contrast data to "engineer" the perfect candidate. a lot of them ask you to send in videos of yourself as well answering questions like a pre-screening interview. its all data mining.

I mean if I'm being honest I've never had an issue finding a job. I've quit/stopped showing up to a lot of jobs in the past. Mostly it's been warehouse jobs in degrading environments. I found a new job recently that pays just "ok" but the environment is better than most places I've worked. You will have to basically sacrifice comfort for higher pay or vice versa take a lower pay but have a better work environment. You will never find "the perfect job" there is always something you will most likely complain about. This coming from someone with only a high school diploma and a college drop out. Have been consistently employed ever since I left high school. Havent went longer than 2-3 weeks without a job if I was switching jobs and i worked for the same company for 6 years. You will just have to make do with what you can.

These people in government get benefits that are made for kings and queens, and the US tax payers pay for it. The US has become a master and slave system.

I’m 39 and have been married to a 47 yr old mechanic for 11 years. He rebuilds transmissions. I met him 14 years ago and he opened his shop 20 years ago. I was going to beauty school when we met but I dropped out because I got pregnant. I had a miscarriage, we still continued dating, and eventually got married. He told me to come work with him at the shop. In 2016, I was put as second owner of the business. We have no children so we just invest our extra money in farmland property. I think the best thing to do now is self employed trade jobs. Many men he fixes trucks for are landscapers, construction contractors, HVAC, roofing, siding, drywall and plumbing repair workers. Taco trucks too. Get your license/training and open a small business. It’s hard on the body but the income is good.

Man, I'm primarily self taught in IT and grew up basically doing remote help desk for free and was building PCs for people. Fast forward to adult hood and damn near every job said that I require at least a year or two of experience. Well, I have 5+ years of undocumented expreince and know for a fact that I can do these entry level positions without a sweat. So I said bet, I'll go to school and get certified. I went to a community college and obtained my Google IT Cert. I was top of my class and even had one our instructors sit down and called me up to the front to teach the class. For a minute I thought he was joking until I looked up and saw everyone staring at me. At the beginning of 2020 right after our class graduation I was selected to intern at Amazon's HQ2 in Northern VA. I was up in the penthouse imaging over 50 Macbooks and Windows machines every week for the onboarding employees. I setup their keyfobs, registed them into the system and all of that. That was only every Tuesday or so. The rest of the week I was in the IT room working behind a kiosk for Help Desk. Amazon mainly operates in a self service manner. You only really came to us for problems that you can't solve yourself. Man....I was closing out tickets like it was damn video game. Ugh...PC Building Simulator. Fast forward a couple of weeks and freaking COVID had hit our builidng *hard!* They had to send out the CDC team to spray down the entire building. After that, 90% of us were instructed to work from home. Only 2-3 IT members were in there during the week for the server room. Not going to get into that obviously but when my "IT Manager" gave me my gear to work from home, buddy never gave me the VPN details. And long and behold, Amazon employees "only" contact each other via thier internal network. What does that mean? It meant that I could not contact anybody over there to inform them of my situation. I had just so happened to become cool with one of my co-workers and had filled him in on the situaiton. He's not a supervisor so all he could do was to pass the word. The way those guys (the higher ups) operated is mind blowing. If it wasn't a major concern to them or had an impact on thier work, they would brush other matters off to the side. Before we even had to work from home we had multiple instances were we had to pester the Manager about problems that we were having, we needed to obtain ABC to fix XYZ. Anyways, I do my part and contact my counselor or whatever her damn position was called and filled in her on what was going on. She was basically tasked with monitoring interns performance during thier internship. I had email and texted this woman in full detail what my problem was. She was young and....she was young. Apparently she never received my messages. I got kicked out of the Program I was in, the YearUp program. I didn't want to name who they were to discourage any of you from attending their program because beside this situaiton, everything else went pretty smoothly. I'm just royally pissed that I spent a year of my life going to school, to re-learn most of what I already knew. I say most because one of our classes was an accelerated class working with Ubuntu. And we were *forced* to work the long way. I would receive zeros on my assignments whenever I'd use shortcuts, I kinda snapped at my teacher for that in the middle of class about that but I wasn't being disrespectful toward her, mainly caused a disruption to the rest of my classmates who were still working. I apalogized to them but man did that tick me off. I get it though, they want to make sure you know how to do things "properly" but in the real world, who has time for all of that. Ugh, I'm getting pissed just of reminiscing on this. Back to what I saying, after I had informed my counselor about the situation it was cold turkey for a few days. What do you expect me to do, I did everything that I could possibly do in my power to get the situaiton resolved. Hell, if I had a car I would've driven up to the building myself but not only were very few people in the building, I would need a keycard to acess the floor I needed to get to. You, or at least I at the time would have my card activated and deactiavted after a certain time I was told so that wouldn't work unless I stood there and went back and forth with security. Man, bump all that, I'm an intern, I should't have to go out of my way to *attempt* to resovle an issue that they themselves don't have any control over. I was told that everything I needed was to be included in my work from home kit. Total BS! I was notified that I would be attending a virtual meeting where I'd be speaking with the IT manager, my counselor, the head of the Year Up Progam and another lady. Dude, when I tell you I was fuming on the inside. That lady sat there and lied to my digital face and said that she had not received any of my messages. Bruhhhh!!!!!!! WHY TF WOULD I DO ALL OF THAT WORK JUST TO COME HOME AND SAY, F*** IT, I'm not going to work anymore. MF, when we were woking in the office I didn't have anybody hovering over my shoulder. Hell, even during our weekly meetings the other Intern and I had to go to those hour+ long meetings on our own, bring our supplies and take notes. Do you all really think I'd come all this way just to quit! Gahhhh!!!!!! I was so looking forward to my life finally starting. A year after that crap I was able to obtain a real job where I was making a difference. But because that job was a small business working under the union, when contracts stopped coming in, so did the money, so they had to let me and several others go. That fact that I was even able to get that job was a blessing. In fact, I was reccomened to work there through a good friend I had made while at YearUp. Fast forward to today and I'm still struggling to find a damn job in my area. "Why didn't you buy a car while you were working at your last job". I had to use lift/uber to commute to work damn near every morning. I couldn't always rely on my parents for that, they had their own jobs to go to. Later on I found out that the money I was putting into a lift/uber was basically a car note. I was mad all over again. I didn't know any better, I just knew that I had a job and I had to get there.

I know I know but it’s electric boogie oogie oogie 😅 I want to work now cause I’ve been out of work since moving to Cali (well I am a flower delivery driver) it pays absolute booty, I manifested that job thinking it was going to be fun. It was but then I got my head outta the clouds…. so I thought of a practical way to get a job. Trade school is my thing. I decided to rack up on as many trades to the point of becoming sharkisha of all trades 😅😅😅 well the ones I’m interested in plumbing is a hard poopass for me.
