My daughter and I both have them and on best days for us they're not incredibly intrusive but they can be absolutely exhausting and painful on the worst days. @@AvianZone its so fucking ridiculous. Like no, DID isnt fun, you literally lose control over your body and sometimes you do fucked up shit. Dont know if its DID, my doctors say its very likely but they arent sure, but i sometimes experience situations where i'm like.. gone for a certain amount of time. Like my personality completely switches and i turn straight up evil. Diabolical even. I am really scared of losing control, and these people act like its "fun" and "quirky" not being able to control your own body. Like just one time, when i was still pretty young, like 12, an 8 year old boy destroyed my toys. Next thing i know i have my hands around his neck and he is unconscious. I _think_ he survived, but i'm not sure. I do hope he made it tho, i never wanted to hurt anyone, especially not a little boy. And something like that happened often, though usually not as extreme. Its scary and i really suffer from these situations. As i said, i'm not sure if its DID, but i imagine that DID does feel like that, and its a scary thought. And they act like its a game.. its sickening

As someone with diagnosed DID, all of this is horrible. DID is literally so far from how people portray it on TikTok. It's debilitating and just... like a brain switch. The alters cannot do things in "inner world" while not fronted. They cannot date. They cannot have sexual relations. Fictives exist, but they're not usually quirky anime characters, and they don't form due to hyperfixations. They split due to trauma response and the brain seeing them as someone who could help the body survive. Another note, it's very rare to even notice yourself that you switched. I myself don't even know that I switched until I've lost a massive chunk of time and don't remember anything, so I "come to" and am like "oh shit". This needs to stop. Seriously. People with DID would not be doing this stuff on TikTok. I hate even talking about it, let alone publicizing it, but I feel it's important to educate since you guys don't know a lot about it.

They introduced all of their alters to us and they were all fictives of FNF characters, Doki Doki literature club, Pico's school and one was of a Minecraft KZreadr (I believe their name is Ghostbur). When they would "switch" into their alters they would act very rude and tell us to off our selfs. Other times they would type in all caps and it was just strange. It was not till September when one of our friends told them they didn't believe they had DID and it was all for attention. We all started to investigate and they finally told us they were faking it and he blamed his boyfriend (who was also in the group chat) because he was the one to ask if he had any symptoms related to DID. I knew he was bull shitting from the start and even I told my Bf about it. We kicked him out of the group chat since. He's done a lot of other crappy stuff too, but it is more personal.

So yes you can tell and it can be very involuntary. If the alter that was going to the front was co-fronting (meaning both the one fronting and the alter are both conscious at the front) then that alter would know whats happening but most of the time they don't know whats going on around them and have to look around, etc. you yourself lose consciousness so when you switch back (its mostly random unless there's triggers for certain alters) you most likely have to catch up on what you missed. sorry for long paragraph 😅don't know if i answered that right

@ris actually, the majority of people who switch *cannot* tell. The only reason that they could catch on if they switched is if they realize they have absolutely no memory. I’ve heard a lot of stories from actual people with DID and witnesses of it. One person had an aunt who had DID when they were a kid, and she never knew she would switch. She would just break down in tears and repeat how she couldn’t remember anything. Also, to the perspective of others, the aunt would have extreme mood swings. It’s heartbreaking.

I had a friend with DID. It isn't something that you're just born with. It's like, a personality you have to disassociate with something. It's usually a disorder caused by trauma in the person's life, usually from childhood. I remember he had two personalities, he always switched when his grandma yelled at him since she emotionally abused him for almost all his life. DID is a psychological defense. It's not a quirk, it's a legitimate disorder caused by trauma. You don't just randomly "switch". You "switch" when you are stressed. Also, people who do have this disorder usually aren't aware of it and are usually only aware of it when they are diagnosed with it. Don't use the effect of other people's traumas to have a "quirk". It's highly disrespectful. Also, on Tourettes. I do have ticks, but do not have Tourettes. It's really just a stress response. I have one tick that messes me up. When I'm nervous, or stressed, I start blinking constantly. Which when I'm driving, it only just further stresses me out and makes me blink even more frequently. I have had times where I needed to pull over and let that subside, it's legit terrifying. As I said, I don't have Tourettes, since this blinking tick only happens at random, it's not something I deal with every day. It'll happen one week, then again 7 weeks later or something. But that one tick makes me wonder why ANYONE would want to have Tourettes. It can literally kill you depending on what ticks you have.

Also there is a disorder where people do this stuff. I don't know specifics so it might not be 100% the same as what these kids do but it's called Munchausen syndrome and some people even go to the extremes of making themselves really sick to be admitted to a hospital or get unnecessary amputations. I doubt these kids actually have that, but they may have the attention seeking issues I mentioned that can cause depression, anxiety, etc.

You do your research. You find the symptoms and see if you relate 3. MOST IMPORTANTLY: you don't have a conformation bias while looking at the information you find. 4. If possible, you talk to someone with some type of degree about it. If that's not possible, you still need to make an effort. Conclusion: you can't just say whatever you want without repercussions. Despite the progress I have made I still struggle making friends, having a social emotional mindset of teenager even though I'm going to be 21, and am just in general been taken advantage of by many people and hurt deeply due to my disability because I can be too nice sometimes, guillble and have to learn the hard way. I will always need a little help from my parents and few friends in some form no matter how independent I have become. Because things are a little harder or more confusing. I'm sure these people would change their minds real fast if they really had to suffer with it permanently. It can be hell. And to make matters worse I am Asexual,(which I am not public about on my social medias because I'd be called being part of the crowd and its not a huge deal to begin with) love the goth and alt clothing, wearing it to some degree and its really frustrating to be roped into this stereotype by the general public and especially my own parents who suppress my style because they only see the bad which I need to put up with until I have the money and situation set up to move out and be on my own. @@Zi._Mat ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, is characterised by difficulty sitting still, trouble focusing, impulsivity, hyperactivity and probably some other symptoms. If you believe you may have it, book an appointment to get diagnosed. In my experience it isn’t too debilitating, but I’ve been on medication for quite a while, and I know it can be quite bad in severe cases, though you would have been diagnosed by now. Go get diagnosed if you think you have it, but I wouldn’t be too concerned. I was diagnosed with tics less then a year ago, and i really dont know anything about tics. For the longest time I tried to convince myself my brain was just faking it and that the long periods of time without ticing was bad and proof that my brain was faking it. Im recently learning more about tics from others with them and online studies for the first time in months i feel comfortable with my tics and i feel more ok having tics in public

Knowing someone who actually has Tourette's and has tics a lot, I genuinely cannot understand how anyone can have fun after involuntarily doing something or saying something that doesn't make sense. On top of that, physical tics can actually be painful, especially if you're trying to supress them. Maybe it's funny the first couple times, but more than anything I imagine tics are just incredibly irritating.

The way I see it, generally if they have their hair dyed bright colors, they are attention seeking. It's not always true, but usually it is. This tells me that they want attention. It's also likely why she giggles when it happens because she enjoys being the center of attention.

I wanted to say I really appreciate the gentle ness you are going into this with. And the fact you brought someone who was actually diagnosed on to give their opinion is great. It feels weird when people who have no experience with mental illnesses literally hate on teens on the internet and call them a bunch of names. This is a pretty weird situation that need a gentle hand. I feel like you are calling these people out in the right way especially compared to all the other people I’ve seen who seem to really hate these literal children. Like being a kid doesn’t excuse your behavior, but it should give you some leniency when it comes to grown adults not attacking you on the internet you know? Like all the other video, while I agree with a lot of their points, felt wrong to watch because it felt like they were just attacking children online.

I rear-ended someone, and I had no memory of getting in the car. It was terrifying. Thankfully, no one was hurt. I have to watch these specific compilations in short intervals, because I will get triggered. And I have learned, if I let that anger build, I will switch. I usually watch My Little Pony to calm down which cracks my family up because I am in my 20s. Don't judge. Edit: For those dealing with REAL DID, did you choose your alters' names? Because I wasn't given the choice. And for the longest time, I didn't even know I had more than one. My therapist had to keep telling me.

As someone with non-Tourette's tics (my neuro gave up on narrowing any further than Involuntary Motor Movement Disorder) It used to just be twitches in my hands, and blink patterns. Now it's full body and feels like I'm trapped in a glitching out robot. I get a 2 second warning if I'm lucky, a weird heavy feeling in my limbs. I wish these people faking could experience just one day in my life. I scalded my hands because I couldn't pull away from the sink after washing a bowl, because it was all that held me up during a full body tic fit. I have to wear an emergency medical bracelet 24/7. I can't go to the store alone during the holidays because I have had full body tics that made my knees give out because of the bell ringer in the past. I probably would have been hit by a car if my friend hadn't helped me to the sidewalk. My friends start a stopwatch each time a tic fit starts because my doctors say is it goes longer than 5 minutes to go to the ER, usually to get an ativan shot in the thigh, with multiple people holding my leg still (and because the muscle is moving it feels less like a needle and more like a knife.

Like, these kids are obviously faking it and hey deserve a call out, but you’re over here saying stuff like “if I’m misinformed then tell me”, “if I’m getting things wrong, let me know” and also saying “it’s possible that not all of these people are faking so keep that in mind”. Like you’re just having fun and making sure to inform yourself so you’re not disrespectful and I seriously respect that

My sister has had two personalities up front at once but it gets chaotic. It doesn't really produce itself as two whole formed separate personalities as much as it's a mixture of two personalities in one person. And this one personality mixture can be very chaotic against itself. Like my sister has had full-on arguments with herself about her viewpoints on certain topics because one altar believed a certain way while she believed a different way and then it was just a chaotic bundle of her agreeing and disagreeing with everything she was saying all at once. That doesn't happen too often. It can happen though.
