    Difficult to recruit to the military when respect and faith in the government is eroded to an all time low.

  • @killer13324

    @killer13324

    It's even more difficult to recruit to the military when the commanders are pushing ideological policy that coddles weakness and has people walk on egg shells. It's hard to recruit when they're letting in people you can't trust to have your back because they have a default 40% chance of trying to do the enemy's job for them. It's hard to recruit when they sacrifice combat readiness in favor of feelings and act accordingly. It's hard to recruit when you have drag queens, very feminine men, trying to be social media ambassadors for the military. All of that said, there's also something most people don't understand. You're never supposed to have faith in the government. You're supposed to not trust it, you're supposed to scrutinize it. Hell the military doesn't swear allegiance to the government, their allegiance is sworn to a set of laws crafted to RESTRAIN that government. And they swear that allegiance in the same breath that they swear to defend that same set of laws from not only foreign enemies, but domestic ones as well. Technically an enemy of the constitution is an enemy of the US military and a government that seeks to undermine it, you see where i'm going with this.

  • @thedeusvultguy5346

    To trust a government doesn't mean you can't scrutinize them. You can judge someone like your friends actions while still believing they have your best interests in mind. While the military isn't bound by allegiance to the government they still stand by them 100%, they are "in the pocket" of the same politicians US Citizens don't trust.@@killer13324

Slavery was normal before the 1800's. Not just in the United States, but all over the world. Before the Europeans started colonizing other countries, it was mostly Europeans being taken as slaves by Arab kingdoms and empires. In Asia, Africa and other continents slavery was also considered a normal part of life. Those times were brutal for everybody. Europeans were the first to abolish slavery. And today there are more slaves in the world (nearly all of them in Asia, Africa and South America) than during the height of slavery in the United States.

The only "honor" he came back with was in the form of scream-yourself-awake nightmares where he'd wake up fighting his wife in his sleep due to the PTSD he developed over the horrors he experienced while serving, particularly during Operation Desert Storm, including one instance of shooting & killing a man he thought was rushing his CO with a rifle held over his head, but later found out was only trying to surrender. Why oh why aren't young people lining up around the block for such a wonderful opportunity of lifelong trauma and a high likelihood of $uicide?

    Even if you were to receive support, it's sill immoral. Military is doing the bidding for defense contractors, oil companies, and weapon industries. At a cost of innocent lives of millions. Military is also used to support dictators in other countries. There are still millions of brainwashed people that actually think that troops are overseas to protect our democracy and freedom. My take: America is becoming like Weimar Germany. Having lost a major conflict, veterans feeling betrayed by their government and getting the short end of the stick in care, divisive politics, massive debt, a degenerate culture that promotes Vice over virtue, the “before time” largely becoming irrelevant, and people struggling to make ends meet. Gen Z having grown up and experienced this in a way the older people in their lives haven’t, it’s no wonder they’re pessimistic and not willing to fight for the special interests of an oligarchy under the pretense of “patriotism” which is largely being undermined.

    Continue to be a fighter. This country will either heal (unlikely) or break from the seams and Balkanize

    As a veteran myself, it took me many, many years to realize what the US military has become since WWII. Basically, whatever Maj General Butler dealt with (in his book War is a Racket) had amplified after WWII- and the military, controlled by political puppets, has been handed to major corporations.

    And who is buying up more and more of corporate interest? It's the country who's name Trump likes to say a lot (hint: they're in Asia). Everyone wonders how they got stealth fighters, simply through abusing the student VESA system by getting kids to infiltrate (been proven for years now). And as we can see even in recent news with the Navy, there are PLENTY of people in the military willing to sell secrets to that particular regime.

    Yes, but who is running those corporations? You didn’t deserve to be used like that. Thank you for trying.

    All the American wars have been this way since the civil war. The oligarchs took control after the civil war. Imperialism abroad and tyrannical at home.

    Speaking as a fighting age British male here in Cheshire, England, Maybe one of the people in my year at school joined and didn't last long. We have nothing to fight or die for, the country is flooded with non-British, we have little to no rights, the cost of living is beyond what most can afford, basic services are falling apart at the seams, etc. not to mention the fact that our government is completely despised by anyone under 40. I'd be amazed if we still have infantry in 20 years time. Do not believe what you see on the news, the UK is in economic and cultural free fall to the point where full time employed people are freezing to death in winter and starving all year. Why would we die for a country that makes basic survival a challenge.

    Remember when you literally used to rule the world to a degree that even the current day US empire blushes with jealousy? When your monarch conquered entire continents into the commonwealth? I'm afraid my own empire is nearing that moment when someone revolts against their world order like the Colonists did, which breaks us. It'll probably be China or Russia.
