Miss Tipper you have been such a lovely part of my life these last few months. I love seeing the updates on your garden, your popsicle times with Mr. Matt and it's really been great having your videos play while I'm working toward my degree. I don't have to focus on what you're doing so much as just enjoying hearing y'all talk because it takes me back to when I was younger hearing the general chatter of my own family. I'm not a religious lady at all but I love hearing Katie & Corie play and sing. Kinda throws my boyfriend for a loop because I'm a big metal head but sometimes he walks in to me listening to your girls singing hymns. All that to say thank you. I'm in a quarter final exam week and you've all been with me through it.

@@CelebratingAppalachia Thank you so much. I was sweatin' hard because I thought I might fail a class... and if I fail the class, I fail the quarter... If i fail the quarter, I have to start the entire program over again. and I'm in spitting distance of the end. I got the news today that I passed so I'm tickled frikkin pink and only have one more final to smash tomorrow before my quarter break. So thank you again. Your channel is humble and simple but so valuable. I wish you and yours all the best.

@@arieldanielle23 Whoooo hoooo! That is great news!! Yay for you! 😀
Tipper, I’ve heard you speak of your hope for your late tomatoes a couple times and wanted to share our experience. We were expecting frost and our tomatoes were loaded with green ones. We picked them and wrapped each one in newspaper, then put in cardboard boxes. We put the tomatoes in the garage in a dark area. They ripened slowly and we had ripe tomatoes through December. I enjoy sharing your life and family. And I sure love digging in the dirt also.

This is almost exactly what I do! I pick 'em and put them in brown paper bags on my kitchen counter. They always ripen just fine, they're just a bit smaller than they would be if given full grow time on the vine. It does work!

Tipper, you have got to be the most hard working sweetheart in the mountains, God bless you and your family 👪 ❤️
I was so excited about your carrots this year. I hope you plant some in your fall garden & they do well. Your dedication & time spent in growing food for your family has really paid off this year. You should be very proud of what your family has accomplished through all the hard labor you've put out. Blessings to you & your family!
Ive been cleaning out our food storage room. I have been listening to the books you read. I just finished Dorie and now I'm listening to Alex. Their stories just touch my heart. Thank you for introducing us to them. I retired this year too and yes, the blessings are bountiful. Be blessed from GA.
I totally agree, this is my first year retired early and have just loved my garden! Seeing it everyday has been such a new blessing
I planted beet seed September 4. They sprouted within 7 days and look healthy. Actually, I planted cabbage, carrots, mixed lettuce and kohlrabi the same day and all sprouted at the same time. I think they sprout better if the soil is warm, but mature at a cooler temp with a good dose of sunshine.
I love mixing turnips with my mashed potatoes. Yummy
Something I have noticed as more years and seasons pass by Ms Tipper is how so many of the greatest choices and decisions arise and are resolved out in the garden space. Very peaceful video today! -Bob...

I agree Bob. Between hanging clothes to dry and gardening, the Lord has heard and answered many a prayer.
I'm dreaming too Tipper. I go to sleep thinking about it and thanking God that I can work with my hands.
You have the most wonderful garden! I am always impressed at the amount of work you all do in order to make that as productive as possible. As aways, a delight to watch and learn. Good luck to your husband in the hunt!
I really enjoy watching you in your garden and then preparing the harvest either to eat or to store. It reminds me of my childhood and helping my mom tend our garden.
I just love all your videos. It reminds me so much of growing up doing all those things. Doing them with my mom and all of us helping dad do all gardening brings back so many fond memories. My mom, dad, brother and sister are all dead now. I am the oldest child. My dad just passed in April and I feel so lost and alone. I miss all those good times. It didn't seem like work doing all those things. It was reaping what we sewed and was able to can, store and freeze all of our foods except meat. Y'all have became a part of my life giving me hope I have lost. God Bless you all.
My favorite thing about Fall is our garden.
Thank you for inspiring. Appreciated. I loved when you said, 'With gardening you're always looking ahead'. I love that. Thanks 😊

I like your little outside sitting area. You can take a break, or snap beans, or just simply sit there and enjoy all the beauty of your beds from all your hard work.
Tipper , I so look forward to your videos. I get a sense of peace when watching. During the health crisis is when I started watching You Tube on a regular basis , before that I would watch You Tube just to look up information on a subject. I found your channel a few months ago and I'm glad I did. I will be referencing this video when I plant a garden. I'm thinking of planting a couple of vegetables soon. I'm in Florida and it's still hot so I'm waiting another week or so. Your family life is truly sustainable . It must give you a sense of security and peace.

I'm disabled now but I enjoy watching your vids so much. Hope Matt brings home plenty of deer for this winter. 🦌Keep the vids coming. Can hardly wait for the next ones. God bless you and your family. ❤🍉

Seems strangely sad to see you gardening alone and having your popsicle alone. Yall always do everything as a family is what I like most about your show. You have the garden looking nice for fall and I hope it does well. The anticipation of a newly planted garden is a very special feeling. Don't forget to leave a light on for the family coming home. Be well .
Enjoyed seeing your garden and your planting for the fall and pulling down the dead plants as well! Know Matt is enjoying his hunting! God bless

Thanks for the video today. You and yours always give me a sense of peace and a boatload of memories. I love the mountains and am blessed to able to visit at my sisters cabin. There is a connection when I’m there. It is peaceful, quiet, and I love it when it rains. I can hear it coming through the trees. God gives us so much to enjoy. Your channel is quiet and peaceful and I’m grateful I found it. I root for your efforts in the garden and know from experience the joy and sense of accomplishment it brings. One more good tomato…. That is my wish at the end of every summer.
You're a busy bee! I live in a small condo and I don't have property to tend to, which is good since I'm 71 but I do miss not having a small garden to work. Indeed, you are blessed!
Hello Tipper I sure am hoping that Matt brings home a huge deer.
There's a nice feeling of accomplishment that comes from checking chores off the list, especially when we don't expect the weather will allow much progress. I'm happy the stars aligned for you, Tipper, and you were able to "get 'er done" on what could have been a rainy day. Anyone who makes a garden can appreciate the work involved, but also the rewards it provides. I suppose that's what keeps us going. Onto the next season. Let's see what Fall brings!

If watermelon gives you that much energy, I want some!😀 I love turnips and I started peeling and cutting them into good size chunks. Then I steam them until tender and top them with butter, salt + pepper. The flavor is wonderful to me and different than stewing. Sometimes I put other veggies like onions.carrots, etc in the covered steamer basket
I really enjoyed this time listening to you and sharing your day.

As far as good tasting long lasting hardy greens try planting some "Seven Top" turnip greens. Oh my heavens, just after the 1st good frost these greens will melt in your mouth. They just get better & better as the weather gets colder & colder. Now these don't make a turnip...just greens, but I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed. 👍
I planted late flat Dutch one year and it was an exceptional year for cabbage anyway but my cabbages were just absolutely huge that year I froze cabbage I made sauerkraut I did everything I could think of
I feel like I need to move to the country. Like it might heal my soul. Keeps calling back to me as my solution and then your channel popped up in my suggestions. Thanks for the awesome videos. From Carolina Beach, NC
Enjoyed this! Not use to you having your popsicle break alone ... you are not being silly about the intimate relationship with nature, I am like that , and it is awesome! Where you live so close to nature and the land , that you notice the changes daily, in everything and in every way , subtle changes don't go unnoticed....i love greens also, especially kale too....can't have enough turnips and greens...we love em too, and they are very good for us! I hope Matt gets to harvest his limit of deer this season, deer is excellent and oh so good , and they need harvesting to keep the numbers in control and the herd healthy. I have enjoyed seeing your garden this year also...your flowers have been so beautiful too! Thank you tipper for sharing. Appreciate you always...God bless y'all...🙏❤

Thanx for sharing Tipper, I too hated de-vining my trellis areas. So one day I was running the weed eater and decided to try it on the dead bean stocks on the trellis areas. It took a few minutes to figure out the best angle, but once I figured it out, it cut all of the old bean stocks for the whole garden in a matter of minutes, amazing. Anything a person can do to make gardening easier will make the whole experience better.😃

I'm so glad you can now have time to do what you love so Tipper. It fills your soul, satisfying. I understand. I always loved working outside, especially this time of year.bi could live a thousand years in September. I'm eighty and still feel that way.
It's nice that you have a longer growing season. Here, in Northern Indiana there's not a lot of plants that would make it thru our winters.

I guess there is always next year. My garden consisted of one volunteer tomato that the squirrels and rabbits let me keep. It's only about 8 inches high so I don't have much hope for a fruitful harvest from this one 😁
