Fun fact: the narrative director of Batman Arkham Asylum has stated in interviews that he took direct inspiration from merge mansionto create the three alternate post credits scenes at the end of the game.

I still see these ads and I'm like 'Grandma, why do you hate your grand daughter?'

i would love to see a game's ads do this, and the game appear at first to be just a gardening or puzzle game, but if you actually keep up playing it, it slowly gets darker and turns into a complicated murder mystery or smth.

Shame is merge mansion is actually an alright game lol. I never knew it had these ads lol. EDIT: I've played about 122 hours over 6 months and haven't come across any of these cut scenes yet ha. In saying so it wouldn't matter, this game has felt like I can do it without microtransactions, yeah they offer it but it's a good balance of not being required. This game also feels like it's had effort put into it and is updating with new content at a good speed. The tech support is fantastic, they will respond to you and help you out even if you accidentally delete something.

My grandma took the time to gather seeds from some weed, then either painstakingly opened and resealed or convincingly recreated an unopened honeysuckle seed packet. If watched the merge mansion ads so many times I think I’ve cracked the code. Lady gets stood up by husband then her house burns down, so grandma gets her a ‘new’ house which I’m pretty sure Is an old one she used to own or something so you have to renovate it that’s the simple bit. The “he is alive” refers to the grandad they think that grandma killed her husband and hid the body but he’s actually in the house somewhere alive and he have to renovate and find him but yeah that’s what I’ve figured out form the million merge mansion ads I get.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one with these ads. They are so bizarre!

There's another game who has the same type of dumb ads but it's actually good. One of the ads is those dress up fix the girl to get the guy back but failure things. Its a game about collecting cats and decorating a house, there is a story to go along with it and it's actually really good, and it's interactive. The art is also really cute for it too. (Purrfect tale btw)

Everything below was written about 1 month ago, before the recent Game Theory episode on the subject. After watching that episode, I’ve come to the conclusion that I was wrong about a few things, but right about mostly everything. Here’s a revised version of the original theory. Maddie and her fiancé Arthur planned to get married for a while and had just finished the wedding rehearsal the day before their wedding, cementing the moment with a polaroid photo of her and Arthur standing together before the big day, dressed to the nines. On the wedding day, Maddie arrives at the alter before her soon-to-be husband as he is to arrive with his fellow bachelors after they held a bachelor party at the couple’s home while Maddie arrived from a hotel near the venue. After several hours of waiting, Maddie realizes that Arthur stood her up and calls off the wedding. She calls a taxi home and departs in tears. When she arrives at the house, she sees nothing more than the burning ruins of her abode, only to receive a phone call from her grandmother shortly after. The grandmother offers Maddie a place to stay for a while, the Mansion. Maddie begins fixing up the Mansion (which grannie intentionally unloaded unto her because she knew she was about to get a massive fine for its disheveled state) with no help from her grandmother. The resident inspectors comes and warns Maddie that she needs to repair the house or she’ll be fined for her fortune and they have several affairs. One day the grannie realizes she’s about to be incarcerated and decides to write a note for Maddie explaining everything. Maddie goes outside only to see her grandmother in handcuffs in the back of a police car. It’s there that grannie admits three truths, 1) she started the fire, 2) Arthur is alive, and 3) she’s going to implicate Maddie. Baffled and confused, Maddie watches the police car drive off as her grandmother waves her goodbye, realizing this will not be the last time she will see Grannie. 6:13 Let me explain the context for this. Basically, everyone was already at the wedding, except for the groom. The bride gets a call from 911 about her house being burned down by an unexplained fire and she took a taxi to get there as quickly as possible. She left the house before the groom that morning so that they would arrive at the wedding at separate times (or rather so they could arrive separately as is tradition). Little did she know that the groom never left the house and it caught on fire before he could get out (or so we thought). The grandmother consoles the bride as she coddles a picture of her mother on her wedding day (who died when the bride was very young). The grandmother gives her estate to the bride before she is arrested for arson (and premeditated murder). As it turns out, the grandmother was behind the fire, however, she also kidnapped the groom and staged his death so that she could unload the worthless estate (which was draining her money) on the bride. Essentially she was trying to pass off the estate to someone else because it was a financial detriment and needed for the bride to end up in a position of desperation. Had the couple married, the wife and groom would’ve simply bought a new house or found some other place to live. The grandmother and groom never really got along, so he would’ve been skeptical of the grandmother’s ‘generosity’. That explains why she needed to prevent the marriage, the couple wouldn’t have been as desperate or as stupid. Secondly, she needed to burn down the house so that the bride would have a reason to look for a new property, i.e. the estate. The grandmother didn’t actually commit murder because that would’ve resulted in much more jail time, so when she is prosecuted for murder and arson, she can call for a mistrial and get off with somewhat less severe charges if any given her riches. So the only thing we don’t actually know is the location of the groom. Hope that clarifies the situation.

9:57 It was at this point I got an ad for a hard cider with the tagline ‘For All the Unexpected things in life’ and I haven’t laughed at something this accidental in a long time.

The grandma is using arson for her crimes. She burned down the Fiance's house to make people think he was dead and kidnapped him into the mansion. She also burned down the main character's house to make her move into the mansion. The grandma's plan is to have the bride renovate the house, so she can kill her and the groom. This way, she has a renovated mansion to hide from the cops with secret rooms.

Guys guys guys- There's a sequel! It just popped up on my phone. The guy driving the police car slipped Granny a key and she unlocked her handcuffs. Seems like there's a real conspiracy going on here... I think we need Danny to investigate.

Yesterday I saw an extended version of the he is alive one, where the cop gives the grandma the key to the handcuffs. It cuts off after she gets out of the cuffs:

There’s a weird live-action add that keeps showing up on my TV. It’s not even a KZread add anymore. It shows up when I watch 90 Day Fiancé!

I've seen those Merge Mansion ads for what feels like an eternity, and the one you watched is actually a mashup of several. In one, she rips up a photo of her and the fiance, and there's a shot of an empty safe (like he was scamming her to rob her or something???), there's one where grandma sneaks out into the night with a suitcase and leaves her with a letter containing 'the family secret'. Wild. What I really hate are all these zombie apocalypse game ads I get. Here's a few examples; guy is making out with a lady, zombies show up, he immediately throws the lady into the zombies to escape. Guy sneaks up and smacks a lady on the butt, she turns out to be a zombie. Guy is reading a pin-up magazine, the model from the magazine shows up in distress, he saves her, she steals his car and leaves him to die. Also, one of them apparently has some sort of partnership with the Walking Dead. So, guy runs from zombies, saves a little girl and her dog, and then Daryl shows up and saves them from more zombies. It really makes me wonder if the actors know their images are being used in this way.

Personally for me I hate the caveman ad like it's so messed up and for what here's an exam: Woman gets caught by caveman, caveman tied her up and the cursor strips the woman one by one while caveman gets excited, woman is screaming, struggling all that and when it gets to her undies as finishes with woman and caveman in a hot tub woman looks absolutely Infuriated and pissed while caveman is pleased Exm number 2 Woman and cavegirl makes out in a hot spring both naked, caveman saw Disturb em, mocks cave girl and completely ruining the mood and the as ended with both women absolutely pissed and caveman happy And this is just two 🌝

Theory: The house was actually the fiancé's. The protagonist who I'll call "Lily" found out his house burned when she arrived at the wedding. Grandma gives her old mansion to Lily as a gift, but then Grandma is arrested for arson. She burned downed the fiance's house to 1) stop the wedding and 2) dump her mansion on Lily.

Good theory, may I add on some of my own? So the fiancé is presumed dead after the fire, but the grandma actually kidnapped them, leading to the alternate endings of "he's alive" and "you're next". The fact that she planned to dump the house on Lily leads to "I planned this"
